Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

I’m not sure if anyone watches any Disney YouTubers, but tonight at the Pineapple Lanai we ran into Paging Mr. Morrow. I was so excited and nervous, I literally couldn’t talk right. I did manage to get a picture of him, my sons, and husband. Anyway, just was curious if anyone else saw him at the Poly tonight? We have a few favorite YouTubers and we finally saw one!
We met Nate at MK Tuesday and he is a real gem! Sweetest guy! 🙂

Which, in your opinion, is the best DVC building? We have a studio booked with walk in shower. Can you request a certain building, certain floor, view, etc ...?

Thanks!

Hey all - thought I would share about our trip that was from 8/3-8/12 at the Poly. I don't do huge write ups but thought I would share our experiences there.

We stayed in Fiji, 2304.
Pros: The standard view was gorgeous - looked out on the walkway and beach looking towards the GF. Loved the refurbished rooms for the most part (see the cons). The boats coming and going so close to this building was a huge plus due to the monorail being down. Two nights I walked from MK through the GF to our building and it was a really nice walk. I actually beat the kids back who chose to wait for the boats that were held up by the electric light parade. No problems with delays with our mobile order at both Captain Cooks and Kona.

Cons: The only issue with the refurb was the flooring and we were split on this. I was fine with it because I feel like it is cleaner, but my kids prefer carpet. While I have no problem with the soaps and hair stuff not being in the individual bottles, the holder was broken so the bottles were not in it right. Lastly, getting our luggage to our room was quite a pain with the entry doors to the GCH being closed still. We prefer to move it ourselves since in the past it took a while for it to get to our room and getting the luggage cart around to the rear of GCH took away from the excitement upon first arrival. Not a huge thing in the big scheme of things but do keep it in mind.

This is our favorite resort and still is! For all those having upcoming trips, enjoy!!!

All of the studios at the Poly have walk in showers. I like Tokelau for standard view. It is located by Oasis Pool. It is also conveniently located between GCH and TTC. This attached picture is from Tokelau 3913.

Just booked our Polynesian wedding for the first week of March 2022 at Luau Pointe!!! I was considering just eloping... but why not seal the deal at the best place on earth! I was also told that we can have a brunch buffet before the ceremony inside Trader Sam's as long as it ends by 2:00. I am seriously considering it, but am sure our guests will think we have lost our dang tiki minds princess: So, if anyone is around in March I will be the bride toting a Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum instead of a bouquet.

Congratulations! Agree with @gerilyne, if you can, do the Trader Sam's brunch 😍.

I second bcuinohio re: Tokelau, especially on the north side of the building. Those rooms on the NW corner of the third floor are the best "Standard" view rooms on property imo.

How do you put in a request? Is it a verbal thing, over the phone or upon checkin? Thanks, great input!

Congrats and a couple questions
1. Care to share how much this costs?
2. Can I come?

I use the touringplans.com room request feature, and they fax it in. It's tough to do directly with Disney otherwise, since they don't offer a lot of flexibility in their channels.

Room assignments are made days before check-in, so waiting until you get there is typically too late anyway.

I have also use Touringplans as recommend by @Cabius and I have used the "chat" feature in MDE app. IMHO keep your request simple. Remember, request are a request, no guarantee
If you decided to use chat do so 60-31 days before arrival.
Good Luck 🍀 :)

Haha.. So, basically its $5000 for the cheapest wedding package. The ceremony at Luau Pointe is $2500.

Trader Sam's is available for brunch buffet catered by the Contemporary. Food & beverage minimum is $1500. A bar buyout package is required to have the bar menu and special effects- and that is $2000 for the first hour and $1000 for each additional hour.

I kinda think its worth it- but I would warn the guests they are drinking instead of eating.

Lots of zeroes there...and thats actually a promise not a warning. Hopefully once in a lifetime 🤪

Is it bad that I think $3000 isn't terrible for two hours of a private party at Trader Sam's? I mean, think about how much WDW charges for VIP tours and whatnot...

I'm still in my 30s, but if I were planning a retirement party or big anniversary party trip for a big crew, I'd really think about that. 😂

I am assuming that bar buyout price does not include the actual bar tab/drinks. I think its just to have the space and menu available... I will be asking though. My family and friends can put down some beverages, and with the amount of ice in most of them... at two hours I think they would lose money on us.

I sort of thought the prices were pretty reasonable too. :duck:

I do various entertainment venue booking things in real life and prices/minimums/fees for everything are always a little nutty, it seems.
