DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Not only did my dd beat the #3 or 4 presumptive regional seed, but she did so convincingly 6-1, 6-3. She was up 4-1 in the last set, and I think she let up a bit to play with the win at her back to finish it.

More importantly, it's my first win as assistant HS tennis coach. The team didn't drop a match. Maybe I should retire undefeated. :lmao:

I am just so thankful everyday. A new, great paying job and new coaching gig. Not bad for a crazy, conspiracy nut.

Good luck to her!

Believe it.

Thanks.

DST started in WWI. I read today 29 states have legislation in their houses to go away from DST but the Federal Department of Transportation has ultimate say. FL is actually to trying to move an hour or two ahead of EST.

Good to know that our government knows what's best for us.

Oops...forgot to include this in previous...

The candles thing @AirGoofy was a letter from Benjamin Franklin and was, from what I've read, tongue in cheek.

Thanks for the info. I learned something new.

Morning, Gents! Training continues to run unabated. Every day a new office/practice and specialty.

It does, and since I'm floating it'll probably take me a little longer because of all the offices I have to learn.

I finished my 38 hours of training in 2.5 days on the computer. :sad2:

I've decided that instead of floater, that I'm to be referred to as "hobo" instead. Let's see if I can start a new trend.

CONGRATS to DD!!!!! :woohoo:

You're okay too...I think we'll keep you...maybe.

Morning, Gents. Today would be my Friday, and while I enjoy what I do, I am looking forward to a three day weekend. I've taken tomorrow off for a doctor's appointment and some other things that need to get done. And Mother Nature decided that she wasn't quite done with us yet. According to what I've been hearing, we're due for some snow Late tonight/early tomorrow morning, a couple of inches from what I hear. We'll see, the weather men have been wrong before. Off to yet another office this morning for more training. That's about all I have. Have a good day, and we'll chat on the other end.

38 hours in 2.5 days?! Whew! Made my head spin on that one. But at least you're done with the training. And I like the "hobo" name instead of floater.

View attachment 563329my week this week. 7 days until the new kid arrives. It is starting to sink in. Even after 2 I am having sleepless nights wondering how the heck I am going to take care of a little baby and keep it safe and protected.

Don't stress over it too much, JC, it'll come naturally.

Don’t worry. It’ll come back to you. You’ll be in the groove in no time.
According to what I've been hearing, we're due for some snow Late tonight/early tomorrow morning, a couple of inches from what I hear.
I’m hoping we’re done. We’ve had a dry winter and most of the snow is gone already.

Should be fixed now. Apparently a bracket got deleted.

we’ve had a fairly dry winter as well, though we’ll pay for it later, I’m sure.

Hope everyone had a great St Paddy's - looks like Randall did

Well, I'm on my own today with 10 patients. Only 8 of which have discharge orders. :scared1:

I've got 4 of them done, and have 4 more to work on this afternoon. And, maybe assess the other 2 so it ain't so bad tomorrow.

And, my Windows 7 computer died, so I'm at one workstation on a computer and a different workstation on my phone. Not what I thought the first day would be like.

Thanks. I've started a petition to change the mascot to Hammers, but no luck thus far.

Morning, gents, from a wet and blustery Cape Cod. Found out yesterday that they've decided that I'm ready to be taken out of training mode and shifted into a real floater reception position. Found this out kind of the hard way. Each week our scheduler sends out the list of where the floaters will be for the week. Well, I never got the list. Instead I got an email from a practice manager saying that she has me and one other floater next week. I was like, "Um....I'm where next week? I haven't received any news of this." So I called my manager and found out she forgot to include me in the distribution list. I then asked if I was still training and was told no. So it's real now. I'm a bit nervous knowing that I'm no longer training, and my manager caught that nervousness in my voice. I told her that I feel ready, but that because it's now here the nerves have kicked in. She understood. I also told her that I'm fairly confident in checking patients in and out, it's the other stuff that'll pop up that I may not have answers to that makes me nervous. But, as I told her, there has to be a beginning at some point, and next week is it. So this is it. Can't wait to prove my worth. Actually, my manager did tell me that she's heard nothing but good things about me, so there's a plus. Well, that's it. Have today off for a doctor's appointment and other things that were scheduled some time back. Have a good day, gents, and we'll chat later.

When you do do it, can you put on a Sideshow Bob wig and sing "He is an Englishman"? Asking for a friend.

Yeah, that's not gonna happen, but I could always give it a go. :rotfl2:

I had EPIC freeze on me twice this week, and boy was it annoying, and one was right in the middle of checking in a patient. I had to finish checking that patient in after she was done. In order for that to get resolved, I had to call IT, who then had to call EPIC just to get them to sign me out. Man was that annoying. So I feel your pain on tech issues.

Thanks.

Gotcha. I did the initial training via computer, watching videos. This last week and a half has been spent with people sitting next to me, but the initial training was by video, so I understand. I am now all on my own next week. Wwweeee!
