why is this Amex Bonvoy offer for 100k more attractive than the chase Bnvoy offer for 5 free 50k nites? I'd think the 2nd is much more lucrative?

I’ll be doing this also in the next few weeks. I had to close one of my biz cards this summer because my CL wasn’t high enough to PC. Fortunately I still have a high enough CL on the others.

Yep, I am in AZ... in all my life I believe I've seen a total of maybe 3 scorpions! I mean, they terrify me but so far I've been very, very lucky. And I don't go looking for them at night with a blacklight like some crazy people!

For the house- I have "bug man" service every other month and have been pretty lucky to keep most bugs outside where they belong. However, I am one residential street away from the Reservation so it's essentially just desert backing up to our very suburban cookie cutter neighborhood. The bigger issue in my neighborhood, apparently, is rattlesnakes. I don't hate snakes... in fact I think they are cool... but a rattler is something I'm definitely not interested in meeting!

We get spiders and mice coming in our house this time of year too with the weather getting chilly now. Had our first very light frost this morning. Never had a spider cause a car accident though! Just deer. I’ve had family members see a deer, come to a complete stop in the road, and that deer STILL runs right into the side of the car as it’s stopped. Crazy creatures.

If I had a spider in my car it would most definitely cause an accident *shudder*.

The mice are a reason I have the perimeter treatment done. I've also had every crevice, hole etc, on my exterior examined and sealed, such as outdoor faucets, electric outlets. I had a terrible mouse problem one year because of relocating my kitchen and not checking out everything. And, my pest guy pointed out that my double deck doors needed a new seal strip at the bottom. Maybe a 1/2 inch was shredded - dog damage - if he doesn't get in immediately he scratches at the door. A half inch is enough to let a mouse in. It's already fixed as I keep that extra strip around for such repairs. This dog tore a 1/2 inch; my elkhound used to tear about 2 feet up.

Oh my flipping god.....After 4 attempts, Barclay has finally deemed me worthy of an AA Biz card in addition to the AA personal card I have! Looks like I have a MSR to hit (luckily only $1k).

Now that I have that approved, I need to decide the Chase card I want to get.....do I want CIC, or IHG or Bonvoy. Decisions, decisions.....

What? You’re so lucky. I’ve killed 3 scorpions in my house in the past couple of months the most recent one was hanging out in my Tupperware. That was an awesome surprise

You can get both the Biz and the Brilliant (basically going down the Amex track). You can't get any of the Chase Bonvoy cards for 24 months.

If you eventually want both cards, but can only do 1 before the offers expire, I'd argue for the Brilliant. Assuming you have no use for the Biz advertising credit. The 100k offer for both comes around every so often (at least once a year?). The 25k on first anniversary for the Brilliant makes it the best ever.

I’m at 3/24, my next card to drop off isn’t until 4/22. I just don’t know if the Brilliant is worth the last available spot to keep me at 4/24. So many decisions.

I’m at 3/24, my next card to drop off isn’t until 4/22. I just don’t know if the Brilliant is worth the last available spot to keep me at 4/24. So many decisions.

It is a hard choice. I got my Bonvoy Biz last year and my 24 month clock will actually be up in 7 months. But by getting the Brilliant, that clock is going to reset. That would be an argument for getting both with this promo if the goal is get as many Bonvoy as possible. But x/24 slots are precious, so depends on what other cards you have your eye on.

In today's mail my DD21, who has a job just above minimum wage (for which we are very grateful given the Covid economy into which she just graduated) got a Platinum Amex offer for 125,000 points.

So, needless to say, she will not be applying. My question is...can I use it even though it's in her name?
