Super Secret Squirrel Details: Final Day (continued)
I couldn't leave without riding this one, even though I'm not a fan of spinning at ALL. DH usually spins like crazy on this...but this time he was hands off...so I grabbed the wheel and did some spinning quickly!
Next up I knew I needed to also ride another iconic ride:
We were almost the only ones on this one...but the most exciting thing for me was that for the first time since Dumbo became Dumbo X2 I was able to ride the "OTHER" side. If you are facing the two Dumbos at the entrance, I've always been selected for the one on the right and this time I got to ride the one on the left. This just made my day...crazy I know. DH swore our Dumbo wasn't working (I made him in charge of movement) but I was able to get it to work.
YEAH for left Dumbo:
After flying high with Dumbo, we headed Under the Sea:
We walked onto both of these rides...and now it was 1pm and we had another longish line for this ride:
I think we waited maybe 15 minutes for this one...it just seemed longer with the social distancing in lines.
We were now at 1:20pm and we had reservations for Tony's at 2pm. This gave us some time to meander through the gift shops for a bit.
So we headed there:
Another castle photo anybody?
I think I picked up a tshirt in the gift shop...it was on clearance and I got my DVC discount so it was a great deal. While in line at the store I was speaking to a CM regulating the line. I asked how his day was...and he said just okay. I was concerned so I asked how it could be better...and he said "if people would just wear their MASKS".
OUCH. So yeah I think the mask enforcement and pushback from guests is definitely something that is wearing on the Disney CMs. I will say, we took these disposable ones, changed them out every day, and honestly they were not that bad and after a while we really didn't notice them that much. That was unexpected for sure...but true. Sure we did stop and get something to eat or drink whenever we felt we needed a little break and that helped. However overall we didn't find it to be as bad as we anticipated.
And next we walked up here:
This was taken at 1:40pm and we had to wait another 5 minutes to check in for our 2pm reservation.
We sat outside on a bench outside while waiting and just people watched for a bit. We weren't seated until pretty close to our reservation time, but that was okay. I was able to catch on video one of those people I am sure the CMs just hate dealing with now. A guy walked through the gates, clearly had his mask below his chin...and proceeded up Main Street. There a CM carrying a sign regarding mask wearing stopped him...and I'm sure told him to pull up the mask. He did but you could see as soon as he walked away he pulled it right back down. She chased after him. Wow I wonder how that went? Couldn't find out...we had a meal to get to next!
