AP lines. Sometimes longer than regular?

Anyone can use the AP line. It doesn’t matter. If you have a ticket. You can enter any line.
If there is a rule. It’s absolutely not enforced or cared about. We have always just went in the shortest line. Never an issue.

Eh, if the CMs are allowing it I’m really not going to worry about what strangers on the internet say. Maybe the ones not doing their job correctly are the ones who are turning families away. Who knows. All I know is they’ve always allowed us to do it and I can only go by what they say.
110% correct

We were there in February and they were turning people away who did not have APs.

It sure is longer sometimes...

That being said a normal band works in the AP only turn style..??? Why

A couple of times at AK there was a person standing a little ways ahead of the AP sign asking people if they were APs- if they weren’t she sent them to the other lines.
Yes. This is my experience at all the parks. Most of the time, somebody is standing towards the end of the line announcing AP only or asking people if they have an AP.

I have seen that and I've seen them re-direct regular ticket folks. But if anyone in the group had an AP, they were good to go. Do they turn them away once they reach the turnstiles? I have no idea, I don't pay enough attention to what is happening to other people that I would even notice. I just know I've seen the sign and saw the cm do the 2 finger point to the regular line- but that was long before you hit the turnstiles.

Honestly most CM's try to avoid argument and if a Non-AP holder goes into that line after reminding them it's AP only they usually let them use it anyway.

You'd think in theory since most AP holders are super repeat guests the line would move faster due to familiarity, but during our last trip I think we only used the AP line once or twice.
When we were at Animal Kingdom, we were in the line next to the non-existent AP e try line and they were being VERY strict about not letting non APs in through the AP entrance. Those that tried ended up at the back of the other queues and waited longer than they would have had they just used the correct line in the first place.

That was not our experience in January, saw many people being turned away at the turnstiles and each person had to have their own AP.

I know because we were stick right next to that entrance at AK for about 15 minutes while waiting in the other line. They were very, very strict about it.

I go to the parks 3 times a week and have never seen anyone turned away, like others, I look for the shortest line, most of the time it is the ap line
Yep. My experience. Only not that often. Oh how I wish. lol
But yes. AP or regular ticket. Goto shortest line.

May be true but kind of tacky to purposely take advantage of a perk not designated for your ticket, no?

I always assume people follow rules at WDW. They leave when a ticketed event starts, they don’t park at resorts where they aren’t staying to get access to the parks... guess I’m super super naive about this kind of stuff!

We will take whatever line is shorter - yes, sometimes the AP line is longer - but we did see a lot of people turned away over the last two visits who weren't APs. I don't know if they didn't read the signs or if they just thought they'd be able to bypass the longer lines even if they weren't AP holders.

Only once have I seen them checking AP's in the line and that was on a super busy Saturday at Epcot. Lines were back past the ticket booths and a CM was walking the line, asking to see the yellow card. She was sending groups who didn't all have an AP to the regular line, for which I was thankful.

Most of the time, we just hit whatever line is shortest and don't bother walking down to the AP line (it's typically the furthest away) but we rarely hit the parks during peak times.

i have only seen this happen at AK, not the other parks.

We saw people several turned away several times at AK in December. Maybe because it was super crowded. Lady ahead of us was fuming that there should be a sign (which of course there was). Also saw it once at Epcot, but we never really use it at MK because it usually moves slow.

I was asked to show my yellow passholder card before entering the AP line at EPCOT.

Also, I was told by a CM all members of my (2 person) party could go through the AP line as long as we had at least one AP between us. The information was offered, I did not ask.
