Amex Premier Rewards Gold Revamped! 4x MR on Groceries and Restaurants, $120 Dining Credit (at Select Food Delivery Services and Restaurants) Per Year.

Today Amex announced new benefit of this card:
  • $120 Dining Credit: You get $10 monthly dining credit available at Grubhub, Seamless, The Cheesecake Factory, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Shake & Shack. Must enroll first and pay using Premier Rewards Gold card.

  • 4x points at US restaurant

  • 4x points at US supermarket, up to $25k purchase per calendar year.

  • 2x points at US gas station is removed.
As the OP says, the new benefit makes this card a no-brainer for a lot of folks.

The PRG comes with an easily pulled 50k MR/$2k MSR incognito offer, first year AF waived and $195 AF afterwards.

The PRG’s benefits include a calendar year $100 airline fee credit that works the same way as the Platinum and Hilton Aspire. Now, the PRG also includes a $120 dining credit to select restaurants and food delivery services, doled out at $10 increments every month. And the 4x MR at restaurants and grocery stores is better than a lot of other cards.

This card was on the chopping block of me come renewal time next year, but I may end up keeping it for a slice of cheesecake every month. Thank you, Amex!

This is an amazing revamp of this card. I always thought the PRG should be better than it was, as at $195 AF it's not quite a no brainer keeper. But now it may very well be. $120 dining + $100 airline completely offsets the AF by itself, and now 4x at restaurants and supermarket? That's pretty awesome.

I actually love this. Amex>Chase.

Yeah! For people not as familiar with the PRG, I forgot to add that the 4x MR at restaurants and groceries categories got bumped up from rather anemic 2x MR bonuses.

I’m fine with Amex getting rid of 2x MR at gas stations, since many other cards offer 2x or better bonuses for gas, and you can pretty easily buy gas gift cards at 5% or better. I mean, you could even use your revamped PRG to buy gas gift cards at a supermarket for 4x MR, earn grocery store fuel points, and use the gift card and points to pay for gas!

That's what I was worried about. That darn Toro card he got and didn't tell me about! And now any other card he gets will just add on to the 5/24 right? So he'll never be able to get it. :( Now I'm not sure what he should get either.

Amex business cards don’t care about 5/24.

For yourself maybe apply for the CIC or CIU.....the sign up bonus is 50,000 URs with a $3,000 spend.....I’m not familiar with non Chase cards so I’m sure others will help you out there

Since these are both business cards, they don't count against 5/24 correct? So I could get one, complete it, and then get the other? Or should I apply for both on the same day?

I love my BWV! The rooms have all been redone, so they are not dated anymore. The hardest to book are standard view, and Boardwalk view. Water/garden are the easiest. We almost always do standard to save points, I like watching the comings and goings out front. Our standard view last week, was actually all trees and a pond, so it was very nice. I know everyone hates that clown, he makes us laugh LOL.

Shhhh! Don't tell anyone you prefer standard rooms! I am always assigned almost the same room probably because of something in my profile such as 'likes to be ALL the way down by the tennis courts!"

The times I've booked a Boardwalk View, the walk killed me,(Standard is right by the bus stops and the back door closest to DHS plus cut across up to the front to get to Epcot, plus the closest to where I parked my vehicle) the maid threw out my lunch, the maid threw out my sunglasses. But the view was wonderful for the 2 minutes I actually spent on the little blocked balcony.

All this talk of doubling the CSR travel credit makes me wonder how this is actually done. I got my card 1/18, can I use the credit again in 1/19 and then cancel or PC the card?

The CSR travel credit is now by cardmember year. Your $300 travel credit should reset in 1/19. Your second year AF should be billed at the end of your 1/19 monthly statement. Chase gives you 30 days after your AF is billed to cancel (or PC to a no fee card) and receive a refund. You can two tap that travel credit during that period when the credit resets until 30 days after your AF posts.

WHY why why does something good come along just when I'm ready to settle down??????

This is a charge card.

@Alexle2007 it looks like a lot of the DVC conversation has passed me by while I haven't been on so sorry if you are still undecided.

On the UY requirement everyone has explained it pretty well but if you are still confused you might want to look at the DVC boards and some of the stickies on there. If you are interested in an Epcot resort I might just wait for Riveria. There is a lot of negative stuff about it but personally I am excited. If interested in staying at Aulani or Vero Beach you could also consider just buying there. If you wanted to do direct for benefits Vero Beach is actually super cheap direct from Disney (I think like $100 a point). Of course then you would have to have the shorter expiration and high annual fees.

If you don't care about benefits then resale is super easy. Actually a little easier in some ways than direct. I did direct first because I wanted the benefits of discounted AP's (buying for 5 adds up) but I was surprised how easy resale was. I went through Timeshare Store and could put the 2K deposit on a credit card (so you could do a bit of your msr that way).

@GlamMistress I am sorry you only realized about the 75 point direct point requirement. I kind of wondered why you were only buying 50 points if you were paying for direct, but figured there was a method to the madness. :)

For Chase’s Ink business cards, you need to be under 5/24 to qualify, but they won’t add to your 5/24 count because they don’t show up on your personal credit reports. You can’t apply for two Ink cards on the same day. Chase has a 0/30 rule (sometimes called 1/30) for business cards that says you can’t have made any other Chase applications in the past 30 days (and thus, Chase will approve you for only one business card in a 30 day period). That doesn’t mean you can apply for a Chase business card every 31 days. There’s a high likelihood you’ll get denied if you apply for a second Chase business card only one month after getting your first. It’s recommended to space out Chase apps between 2-3 months to avoid the risk of denial or shutdown (for hitting Chase too hard, too fast).

Oh and in case you all missed this I thought it was interesting.

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/prio...ption-to-salt-lake-international-airport-slc/

Good post because it lists the other airports where they have added restaurants to the airport for Priority Pass recently. I am excited to try it in SLC. Of course the girls will still want McDonalds (and thanks to Grandma they know just what they want to order) but it will be nice for the adults!

Finally caught up (again). Obviously like everyone else I'm not happy about not being able to use URs @ 1.5 for Disney. This has been my ONLY redemption for my URs since I started earning them. The only ray of sunshine for me is if I cash them out instead I'll be able to book my own trips as a TA and get commission, plus I can use GC to pay. As long as I get the GC with cash back/points back/discounts, I should be able to come somewhat close to my UR redemptions.

Would love some Dischurners insight into my SW CP plans for 2019-2020. I know several of you chimed in when I asked about this a few weeks back. I'm trying to work out timing on getting the Premier and the Biz card. Here's my 24 month breakdown:
09/29/16 1/24 - Amex BCE
01/05/17 2/24 - CSR
02/15/17 3/24 - Disney Visa
07/06/17 X/24 - CIP
10/17/17 4/24 - Marriott Personal
12/26/17 X/24 - SPG Biz
05/08/18 X/24 - CIC
So by my calculations I'm 4/24 and 0/30 with Chase. By next month I'll be 3/24. I want to do the in-flight offer for the Premier to get the 50K offer. I'm flying out on 10/4 and flying back on 10/9, so I think I'll wait until the return flight to apply. I'll just pace myself a lot with the MSR so my bonus doesn't post until January. This card will put me back at 4/24 so I should still be safe to go for the Biz later. I should be safe if I wait until November to apply for the Biz, right? Or maybe I'll wait until December just in case.

I'm also weighing out whether or not I should keep my CIP. Now that I have the CIC and 3x via Plastiq for mortgages is dead, I don't really see a need for this card. Thoughts?

Edit...
lol...some of us ( but not @SouthFayetteFan :thumbsup2) have done it lol...I opened up a Jared card once...big mistake
