I love credit cards so much!

2 RMN questions here.
1. For those doing the Walgreens offer on multiple accounts, are you using the same Freedom card, or a different one?
2. I see Best Buy is $15 back on $50 online today only... any takers? :) Might give it a shot.

We pay for the flights, and get reimbursed - however we have a travel department and guidelines, so if we can't justify spending more for a certain airline, when a less expensive option is available, that can affect which airline we choose.

I've never been denied Delta to Canada, and when going to Denver, we easily justify direct flights on SW, so we don't experience delays in arriving due to weather in February.

If your looking at the Chase cards CIP will give you 3UR points per dollar spend on travel....

When was the next statement close date...when I closed one of my Disney cards it only showed up as closed on my credit report the day after the next statement close date
Looks like 17th. So think I am ok? I want my new total CL with chase to be shown without that closed card included to up my chances of auto approval.

Sorry for multiple posts... is RMN only on online orders? I was under the impression people were shopping in store, but I haven't been reading carefully. If so, I guess I can forget using it lol.

I'd also like to know this. Wouldn't mind it if I pick up a $100 one on my way there, but want to make sure I don't run into any other issues.

Another option for Costco if you are working on the Mastercard spend is to buy Costco gift cards online. (You can do that with Mastercard, but not with Amex). It would not be a huge savings but at least that way you are helping meet your spend.

@Lain how hard is it to use the VGC's at Costco? Do you have to know the exact amount on the card for them to run it? For some reason, I have issues using Visa GC's. Not all the time but enough to where I shy away from buying them.

Super easy. Just slide the card, type in the PIN (usually the last 4-digits by default), and select no cash back (wouldn’t work anyway). Costco’s POS auto-drains the card. If your VGC balance is more than the total, it’ll process normally and close out the transaction. If there’s less than enough on the card, the POS will drain it to $0 and the register will give you a remaining balance, then just swipe another card.

I take advantage of those Safeway (Albertsons) deals on VGCs (currently $10 off 2x $50s and $15 off 2x $100s, until 8/25/18, which more than covers the activation fee), OD/OM/Staples deals, and will sometimes eat the $5.95 activation fee on a $500 VGC (1.19%) when I’m working on an MSR.

I would never use an Amex on which I’m working on MSR to buy prepaid cards at OD/OM/Staples (L3 data), but I have no problem buying VGCs (or MCGCs) at grocery stores (no L3 data) and having it count towards an Amex MSR.

Well my plan isn’t working. After 35 mins on the phone with Chase recon I’m still denied for the CIC. I tried for this card back in April and couldn’t get it either. Do I move on? And just try for the CSP/CSR? They said my credit limit is too high with them. I just lowered them all back in May and I’m way under 50% of income. Think it would be easier to get the CSP/CSR over the CIC? Should I do the Amex SPG personal and lux still? Ugh, I wish this would have worked lol now my decisions got a lot harder

Question for Hilton folks, looking at some hotels for an unexpected quick trip and I have a Hilton option giving free bonus points cuz they're new.
Q1. It says it's 1000 points per night, so if I stay 2 nights it's really 2000 points? I don't usually book bonus points rates because I usually see it say "per stay" which for more than a 1 night stay doesn't seem to make economic sense. Just wanting to make sure they're not toying with me

Q2. Would you pay $12 for 2000 Hilton points?
I'm new to the whole Hilton system so I don't have a feel for value yet and I tend to not pay more for any points because I think points are freebies, if I paid something more than I usually would to get it then it's not free :) In this case it's the same rate to get the points as a flexible night so I was intrigued but the AAA rate is $12 cheaper for the whole stay than that; and I usually pick the AAA rate so I'm conflicted. On one hand it may be paying now for a discount on a future trip (assuming the value is right) but the other hand still says "$12 isn't free!" :D

Still debating between this and Marriott, our old stand by. Cash wise they're about the same. I think one of the Marriott's would be $10 cheaper, but we got the MSR on the Hilton card to meet so I'm counting that as even. But have to decide cash vs points, I could just burn 25k in total for the stay at Marriott and not worry about the cash since we didn't really plan this.

Thank you! That does sound easy. Do the VGCs have any of the issues activating that the MCGCs have? I bought one from Staples and had to make 7-8 phone calls to get it working. Never doing that again!

Wait, guess if I'm going by Walgreens, I need to figure out this RMN stuff... support links for this or anything I need to know about? Will it work for VGC?

No support links that I am aware of...I used it for 7 Disney GC's and I got the cash back every time. I've not seen any DP's on it working for VGC.
