Hi all,

looking for input on whether to drop our FQ standard room reservation for a 1 bedroom at Bonnet Creek. We are renting a car either way and have a billion magic bands already. This trip, we plan to spend lots of time at our resort.

We've stayed at FQ twice before. Our reservation was grandfathered in so no parking fees apply.

And we like the idea of having a kitchen to make meals in the room but still plan to eat at quite a few TS restaurants.

When I run the numbers, Bonnet Creek is $130 more overall but I figure once we factor in cooking at the room instead of eating at QS restaurants we will come out ahead but I'm not sure if it will still feel magical.

If anyone who has stayed at BC can provide feedback, I'd love to hear about your experience.

Bonnet Creek is nicer and outside the bubble.
POFQ is in the bubble.

How much time will you spend using the pools/lazy river during your trip?
What about age and number of kids?

Hands down Bonnet Creek. I've stayed at both, and to us, unless you are staying at a Disney Deluxe resort and shelling out the big $$$ for it, Bonnet Creek provides much nicer accommodations and a lot more space for the same cost as a Disney moderate. The main reason we stay deluxe is due to the proximity of the resorts to the park. Take that away, and Bonnet Creek wins for us every time.

Either way, enjoy your trip!

How are you booking Bonnet Creek? You should be paying less than at POFQ, not more.

We've done many trips and stayed both onsite and offsite. We've stayed at Bonnet Creek many times and we love it there. In fact, we are going back next April and I was trying to decide whether to stay there or at Boardwalk and honestly, the only reason we chose to stay onsite is we have other family members who will be onsite and we wanted the 60 day FP option. With having different pools, lazy rivers, mini golf, and the resort being right next to Carribbean Beach, Bonnet Creek is one of our favorite places to stay and I wouldn't stay offsite anyplace else.

I've stayed at both and love both, but there's something to be said for the extra room, nicer rooms, laundry and kitchen. It's so convenient. I don't feel like I'm "outside the bubble" when I stay there, since we usually either drive to take ubers to the parks anyway. The only downfall is if you'll miss not having extra magic hours.

I was looking on the Wyndham website, it was $165 a night plus taxes, which is slightly higher than my POFQ nightly rate. But the main difference is... our POFQ includes a free water park ticket, if we drop it for BC, we'd be paying OOP for the two water park tickets.

Is there a cheaper way to book BC? Do they have parking fees?

No kids, just two adults and we plan to spend about 50% of our time relaxing at the hotel and using the pools weather permitted.

Stayed at both and I'd be staying at WBC in a heart beat ~ especially with resort time.

With a car you are entering/leaving WBC property from Disney property so I never felt out of the bubble, I was minutes to the parks and my commute was much faster than any bus ride and just a few minutes door to door to Disney Springs which was nice.

Having not only the space, laundry and kitchen, but with resort time it's nice to have a sofa/chairs rather than sitting on a bed ... and have a nice balcony to sit on. Last trip our balcony had view of DHS/Epcot/fireworks AND the WBC lake.

Aside from all the pools and sitting areas, the walk around the lake is very nice, there are a couple bars outside and one night enjoyed live music at one by the "castle/fort". We even grilled some nice steaks one night.

No parking fees at WBC. To me the only plus of staying at POFQ is the EMH.

This is pretty what I've pictured us doing which makes BC seem like the ideal choice.

In the age of booking FP through the. MDE ap, early EMH no longer has any value to me whatsoever. Late EMH never appealed to me much either, and now that park hours and ride capacity are reduced throughout the year, it holds zero appeal. On the other hand, I love using the lazy rivers at WBC, especially in the late afternoon and early evening. I have stayed there at least 15 times in all times of rooms both deluxe and presidential, except 4 bedroom, and in all towers except tower 1. My favorite room is the 1 bedroom presidential, but I like them all. In my opinion WBC is a gem. I don’t open points there, I rent them so I am not locked in.

The we loooooove Bonnet Creek thread Part 4 has a ton of advice on booking WBC.

For a 1BR, I'd be looking to pay around $100, which includes all taxes and fees. And no parking charges.

You won't find a deal like that booking directly, but there are many options to book for less.

We loved WBC. The full kitchen, laundry, balcony, pools, much better price...but I missed the Disney bubble.

Oh wow, thank you gonna check that out now!

Which hotel in Bonnet Creek are you referring to? There is a Hilton, Waldorf Astoria, and Wyndam. I love POFQ, but would consider Hilton, Waldorf Astoria "better hotels" but not necessary a better "value". Haven't stayed at the Wyndam, which I think is technically a time share that rent rooms. However we we will be trying the Wyndam out in November.
