That is the same as the incognito offer and it is a good offer. That is the offer I took when I got a PRG back in 2016. I believe the BEST offer on PRG is 50k for $1k spend.

hmmnn, throws a wrench in my plans.

ETA: Think it would decrease chance of getting 100k plat if got the gold?

It's a good offer for the PRG. The standard offer is 25k MR for $2k MSR/3 months. However, the 50k MR/$2k MSR offer is fairly easy to pull via incognito or through VPN tricks. I pulled the same offer half a dozen times yesterday. Conventional wisdom is if you get the PRG, you will no longer be targeted for the 100k MR Platinum. Amex will have hooked you as a customer and you won't be on their radar for their best offers anymore. I've never received a 100k MR Platinum offer after getting the PRG (I didn't know!). I have been able to pull the 75k MR Platinum offer for myself and took it.

The PRG is a decent card with 2x MR at restaurants, grocery stores and gas stations, a $100 airline fee credit that's good for a $100 GC from AA or Southwest (or 2x $50 GC from Delta), 3x MR for flights booked directly with airlines, first year AF waived (but $195 AF after that). Bonus categories are nothing to knock your socks off, but the card's a moneymaker in its first year with the signup bonus, fee credit, and waived AF. But if you want to score the 100k MR Platinum one day, you may want to hold off on the PRG.

OK, thanks. You answered my plat question before I asked it. lol

Since he is still under 5/24 I may hold off on this gold.

Can anyone who has been to Europe and familiar with euros please help?? My daughter will be going to Italy next month.
What is the best way to get Euros? I put her as authorized user on one of my chase cards with no foreign transaction
fees. I would like her to have some euros on hand also. I went to bank today at it was $253 for 200 euros. That seemed
rather high so i declined. Can you get them from ATM out there? Is it safe using your debit? Anyone familiar with fees?

Thanks.

Also CapOne360 has no ATM or conversion fees. The nice part about Europe is the actual bank ATM's don't charge a fee, so we got Euros at the bank exchange rate for nothing extra.

Capital One 360 doesn't charge a fee to withdraw cash from foreign ATMs. You just have to pay the fee charged by the ATM operator (if any). Their checking account is also no-fee, so you could open one for her and deposit funds for her to withdraw from while she's in Europe. That's probably the easiest way.

So here is where my DH is at (see image)...

Plans for him next (in no particular order) are...

---DD CSR/CSP. I need to PC the CSR to a CF, but I am not sure the best timing, because what if I want to book something with 1.5xUR before he gets another CSR? All our URs are in his CSR account. I have a CSP I guess I could upgrade if needed to book, but seems like alot of trouble. Also, he has approx $100k in chase CL so I need to free up some of that. I am still thinking this through.

---Cancel SW Prem and plus after their anniversary points post...June and Sept.

---Possible SW biz this later year and cross fingers double dip works in late 2019 for a 2019/20 CP??

---PC the CIP to a CIC (I have a CIP that is processing mortgages so don't want to touch mine)

---Hoping for good sign up bonus on SPG personal

----Hilton BIZ amex soon

Suggestions on order of doing these things? Or anything I am missing?

A big thank you too all of you helped answer my questions (and everyone else's discussion--I've been reading for a couple months)!

I was approved for CIC today!
I applied yesterday morning, got the 30 day message, and this morning had an approval message and got my card expedited. Should be here tomorrow by noon! I was super nervous to apply for a business card because I only have a borderline business, but all this discussion pushed me over the edge, so thanks!

DP on lowering limits: I lowered my Chase limits by 40k 8 days before I applied, but it hadn't updated in the chase credit score feature or my creditkarma. Based on that and the credit limit I was given on the CIC, I would also think it hadn't been updated in chase's system. I was just too impatient to wait any longer!

Wowza on both counts!

And CONGRATULATIONS!!! Welcome to the dance party!

For those that do Samsung Pay, if you link your PayPal you get $5. It has goofy requirements, like you have to pay with your paypal account via Samsung pay, and link a bank account so it will automatically withdraw the amount you set to top off your paypal account if there's not enough to cover your purchase. And it has to be used within 14 days.

I'll do it once for $5 lol, I'll probably buy a $15 Disney gift card or something.

Congratulations! It is definitely nerve-racking! Unfortunately, for me the anxiety doesn’t get any better as I continue to apply. I need to really get serious about lowering my limits as well.

I was surprised at how quick and painless it was to lower the limits. The whole phone call was less than two minutes.
Best of luck on your next application!

That's funny, I just was calling around about that a few minutes ago. Given the current exchange of 1:1.18, yes you are paying ~$17 extra fee to the bank (from your $253 quote) for them to get you 200E in hand. I plan to do it for our trip to Italy next month just because I would feel more secure having the money in hand in case of some black swan event, and it's worth the ~ $17 for my peace of mind. Is she flying to FCO? I've read there are ATMs in there, so she should be able to get cash from an ATM if she waits til she lands at the airport. However, there are fees, some issued by the ATM owner and some issued by your bank, so you should be clear on what those are, because you might end up paying in fees anyway with the added hassle of her having to figure out an ATM in a foreign country. Once, I was in Costa Rica, and fortunately I know some Spanish because the ATM's directions were only in Spanish!

My Wells Fargo debit card would charge me $5 per withdrawal overseas + whatever the ATM owner's fee ($3-$5) per withdrawal, so no way would I ever use that. I have a Charles Schwab checking account for this purpose and take the debit card for travel. No fees whatsoever, just the straight currency exchange rate, no matter what ATM I use. Plus, it's a chip & PIN card, so it can be used at unmanned kiosks (like buying train tickets). I highly recommend that card for anyone traveling overseas.

Just throwing out a DP - DH got a targeted mailer for AX Biz Gold Rewards for 75K MR which I, I mean he, signed up for, and then a few months later he got a targeted mailer for AX Biz Plat for 150K MR. Maybe it's different because these are business cards?

When we got home today, I told DH I messed up. Meaning with the Amex Platinum offer. I swear all the color drained from his face - he thought I meant with the car payoff scheme! So I rephrased, I missed an opportunity :rotfl:

After I told him about it, he asked if we should try calling about it. I'm so proud!

Those with a very reluctant player two, dont lose hope! My DH questioned getting a travel rewards card when I originally suggested it, and that was 6 months before I read about churning and wanted to try it - that terrified him! But he's come so far!
