Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Not sure if it would fit in the closet (kind of doubt a large one would), but they did raise the beds in the YC to make room for suitcases to fit underneath.

As for the ironing board, never used it, but if it's like the one in my house, it should be pretty simple to use!

I know you can get bed bugs anywhere and disney is diligent about that sort of thing. But I do not really like the idea of putting my luggage under the bed that was why i was hoping to be able to put them in the closet

So, in the biggest last minute resort changers ever, we've just switched from BC to YC for our upcoming trip. We check in Friday, and I'm a bit amazed with myself that I flip-flopped so late. :-) A YC passholder rate standard view room finally opened up, so the price is even the same. We've stayed at BC a ton, and BCV once, but never YC. And we've got reservations at BC for a F&W trip in October, and as part of our split stay over Christmas, so if I regret the change we'll be okay.

So reassure me...is YC really as good as BC? The recent renovations did a good job? I know there are more full balconies, but how about king rooms? Are king rooms more common because YC has more conventions?

Thoughts?

We are in process of booking Beach Club for Labor Day Weekend - August 31 to Sept. 3. I can't understand what Be Our Guest is. We have been to Disney many times but this time are bringing extended family to celebrate Grandma's 70th birthday. Are there any promotions or incentives?

The Be Our Guest List here is just a list of which DISers are staying at YC/BC and when. Information only
Be Our Guest is also a restaurant in the MK

I don't know about availability of king rooms but I think they did a great job with the renovations. The rooms look great. I find it to be a little quieter/less chaotic than the Beach Club (which I also love) and the new quick serve as well as Ale & Compass lounge/restaurant are great additions. Have fun!

We have about three weeks until our BC stay and I'm getting ready to place our Garden Grocer order. We stayed at the BC about 2 years ago, but my wife and I weren't coffee drinkers back then. We are now! Has anyone been recently and can tell me if they are still going with the Cuisiniart 2 Cup Pods or if they have update to the Keurig K-Cups? If they are using the K-Cups, I want to order our flavored vanilla.

As far as I know, it is still the Cuisinart pod machines at BC, Keurig at YC

I think the closet isn't going to work out for luggage storage unless you don't care that you can't hang clothes in the closet. I love the design of the closets at YC and was happy with the rods and shelving. We stored our bags under the beds. The hardwood floor gave me some comfort on the bug front. If you really don't want your bags near the mattresses, I think you're going to want to put your bags near the area where there is a connecting door (if your room connects to another) or near the sliding glass door to the balcony.

Does anyone know if the buses run from the water parks to the resorts, or do we have to transfer at Disney Springs or Animal Kingdom?

We just returned home on Sunday from a weeklong stay at YC. Last year we stayed at BC and LOVED it so I was a little worried too, but we moved our reservation over because of a discount as well.

It’s definitley a less crazy, quieter feel in the lobby. BC gets the edge in vibe and colors. That said, my biggest gripe about BC rooms are the lack of any space to put your stuff. The refurb YC rooms are amazing!!! There is SO much space - we didn’t even fill all the cubbies! It was so nice to have the four of us in there comfortably and not tripping over all our stuff. The hard floor, the bathroom - everything was great. The staff was always really nice. No complaints at all from me. I can’t comment on the Kings because we needed 2 queens, but we did not make any requests and ended up with a ground floor room facing the quiet pool and around the corner from the market. If I stayed again, I would want the same location. The Ale & Compass Market was nice and had everything we needed (my kids loved the Coke Freestyle machines). And most importantly, SAB is still the pool!

Like I said, it’s not as “fun and relaxed” in its theming but it’s great and you won’t be disappointed at all. Have a great trip!

So great to hear! We are huge YC fans and I can't wait to see the refurbishment! Q regarding your room.. were you near the lobby if you were around the corner from the market? I think I'd like to be near the market so my son can run and grab snacks if he needs to without getting lost going back to the room. Thanks!
