Freezing the Night Away deck party in the Mediterranean

I got an email today from Disney about our upcoming cruise. You know the one they send about a month in advance. Anyway, it was interesting because for our Med cruise, the following paragraph was in there (emphasis mine):

Magical stories will come to life at very special deck parties-filled with fun and surprises for everyone to enjoy. It's all hands on deck for Pirate Night with a party starring Mickey Mouse and his pals-and featuring a fireworks spectacular at sea! And don't miss the Freezing the Night Away With Anna, Elsa and Friends interactive show for a truly thrilling and chilling experience for everyone!

It's sort of interesting because I thought that there wasn't a Frozen deck party on the Mediterranean cruises historically, but maybe I'm wrong. Someone from our FB cruise group called and the CM confirmed it (though, I know, sometimes you have to take the phone CM info with a grain or two of salt).

Did anyone in the Med last year have a Frozen night? Do you know which evening it was? Did you have the Frozen menu? If you didn't have it, did you get a notification in your month out email saying you would have one?

I know it's not the point of your post (though it's an intriguing point indeed), which email that "they send about a month in advance?" Our cruise is in 23 days, and I haven't received anything. Haven't receive anything after we checked in.

I, also, believe they didn't do the Frozen show on the Med cruises last year. It was on the Iceland cruises, though. And it's on the Alaskan cruises. Maybe they're expanding it.

I'm on the same cruise as you and received the same email today. I just checked my itinerary on the website and it doesn't show a Freezing the Night Away party anywhere on there like it shows the Sail Away and Pirate Night. Hmmm...

We had pirate night and frozen deck party on our 7 night med cruise in 2016. However, for us the timing wasn't great. Frozen day was the day we were in Rome ... so we were off the ship from 7.30 am until 6.30pm. We missed some of the other Frozen activities going on that day. And honestly we were shattered after a long hot day out in Rome ... the last thing we wanted to do was stay up for the Frozen deck party .. but we did because our DD was Frozen mad at the time.

Speaking to DCL,
All cruises in Mediterranean up to 22/7 and includes that cruise:-
Pirates, most cruises show the day.
17/7 - Rome night.
22/7 Vigo night.

From 29/7 Ex Dover.
Frozen deck party.

Disney sends out regular interval emails to keep you hyped about your cruise. They include basic information, things like you can book port adventures, onboard experiences etc. There is normally one around 90 days I think it was and definitely 30 days and around 2 weeks before the cruise. They don't usually contain to much "needed" information, but may tell you stuff like your getting a Frozen Deck party.

Agree.

They are not expanding Forzen to the Mediterranean, Frozen is on, when there is cooler and lighter evenings where fireworks do not work, or Disney hasn't got permits, such as Alaska where the fireworks can disturb nature.

It's one or the other, not both.

Yes, yes, I'm aware of the itineraries. I pasted the email I got above from Disney that says that we have both. Clearly I'll have to see what happens when we are on board.

What's interesting is that the only itinerary that HakunaMatatNoWorries DIDN'T post above is the cruise we (the OP and I) are on that we just received the email about. We are on the June 16th cruise from Barcelona to Rome.

The one on June 9, which I am on, also doesn't show Pirate Night like the ones above. Fun with DCL tech.

Hakuna didn't list the July 7th 10 night cruise either. Personally, I saw the Frozen show in Norway 3 years ago. Don't need to see it again. Somehow, Frozen just doesn't go when you're in shorts. It goes much better with Alaska and the Northern European cruises. If they have it on my cruise, I'll probably skip it. No worries! :simba:

How long is your cruise? That can make a difference in what nights you get. If you got an email about it, I would assume you will have Frozen and not question it. I'm not sure why so many are. Enjoy it!

It's a 7-night Mediterranean from Barcelona to Rome.

I got the same thing for the June 23 Rome-Barcelona itinerary. I was surprised too. I had the Freezing the Night Away party on my UK/Iceland/Norway cruise in 2016, but there was no Pirate Night on that one. It seems odd that they'd do both. My cruise is only 7 nights. Would they have deck parties for 2 of the 7? (3 of the 7 if you count Sail Away)
