Disney Skyliner (Gondola Transportation System) Read Post 1 Now Open!

I do find it funny that it seems like increased prices would be a factor as to whether you'd be willing to use the gondola or not. The increase in price is not likely to be significant - I like other expect it will be there, but the profit from the gondola construction is really the Riviera resort.

Also, you can use the gondola even if you are not staying at those resorts. The question really should be asking whether based on current knowledge of the gondola( ie. shorter travel times from DHS to Epcot, possibly no AC, suspended above roadways) whether or not you would use the gondola or would you stick with boats and buses.

Anyone that votes no to the gondola, would also likely not stay at these resorts. Regardless of whether they offer an alternate form of transportation to these two parks - they WILL be sure that the alternate transportation is significantly reduced versus current bus transport. Potentially for example one bus that goes to all four resorts before going to the park and takes perhaps 45 -60 minutes instead of the usual 20.

forgive me if this has been asked or stated somewhere, but i cant find it anywhere. Has anyone seen anything about projected opening dates for this?

Also, what about rumblings for this going resort wide, anyone hear anything about that?

Why is there a poll question about a/c in the gondolas? Is that suggesting that there may not be? I can’t imagine there wouldn’t be

Im having a hard time envisioning how the on/off system will work exactly? If each gondola holds around 10 people, they have to stop each tie and let 10 people off? I would think this would be VERY slow. I can’t imagine this being the case??

... and from what we have been hearing, 3000 per hour is conservative.
How will the on/off go? I can’t wrap my mind around this since I’m envisioning it stopping every 10 seconds for a minute to let 10 people off (wheelchairs ,ecv’s)

The only place you have to get off and transfer is CBR.

Why would it stop every 10 seconds? There is one transfer point (CBR) and one point where there is an option to get off or continue (Rivera). The rest you just stay on and move between stations.

You really should read the first page of the thread. A lot of your questions have been asked and answered already here many times, and I understand not wanting to read through a 100+ page thread - but @rteetz has done a great job of filtering them out and putting them on the first page, so I suggest go there first and then come back with questions.
