Just got our closing documents for the OKW contract that did pass Still waiting on another one for ROFR and we're almost going on 3 weeks

Still, although the whole process does take time it has been very smooth from the beginning. Can't wait to officially get our first ever DVC and get familiar with the DVC owners site.

I agree. I just got word today my AK passed. I passed OKW in beginning of the month. The OKW expires 2042 so I wanted something that would be longer. Wish I had waited for a OKW that was extended. Very excited about my AK, except for paying for 2 DVC now

Congrats. Anyone know if an OKW resale can be extended directly through Disney? My resale place said as of last year they believe it was still available but they weren't sure if it's still in effect or if it ended.

Tin foil hat theory time!!! Perhaps all the ones submitted from 3/7-3/13 or so that definitely didn't meet the specifications of the contracts they would buy back were told yesterday about passing. Maybe they had the ones they had to actually review which were submitted around the similar time period of March looked over with more scrutiny in a meeting yesterday. Today, people are hearing that decision from the ones that "required further review". Isn't it fun to speculate when we have absolutely no idea?!?

Haha... so true! I’m still waiting on my AKL submitted 3/11!

Congrats. Anyone know if an OKW resale can be extended directly through Disney? My resale place said as of last year they believe it was still available but they weren't sure if it's still in effect or if it ended.

My understanding is Disney ended that offer in August or so of last year. No more extending.

Good luck. BW/BC area is our favorite resort area. The waiting now is the hardest part but the whole process is very interesting the first time. We recently got our first and are waiting on our 2nd.

How does that work because we noticed a unit # for the first time on the closing papers we received. Probably elsewhere too but didn't notice. Does that mean you get that unit when you book and if all taken you get put elsewhere?

It's nothing to do with where you will stay. Since it's a real estate interest you have to own a specific place - that's what is deeded to you. But you will be assigned rooms as works out for the room assignor.

Bummer. We had an AK taken from us too. Similar contract except no points in 18. After they took that one, we tried OKW as we like that resort quite a bit too. That one passed in 10 days.

I would be interested in extending if it was only $15 pp but more than that it isn't worth it.

The actual cost was $25 ($15 was an "earlybird special" type of promo when first announced) but I'd be surprised if they'd even extend for $25 at current pricing.

I don't think it's worth it for more than that as resale isn't that cheap either. Better to buy a different property like AK with 2057 use year.

Not if you like OKW. There are resale extended contracts although less frequent. And not hugely more expensive than non extended surprisingly.
