So it looks like Be Our Guest is becoming Prix Fixe Meal and 2TS credits...thoughts?

I wonder if this will require pre-payment like CRT?

Nope. As per a response to the question on the disney blog:
Prepayment is not required. However, as with all our dining reservations, we do require a credit card to use a placeholder.

Also, Beast will still be there so now it's a wait and see for me when the full menu becomes available as to whether DH and DD will be happy with anything on it.

Great news. Thanks for clarifying

I think that BoG should be more family/kid friendly, there are plenty of places at DS and Epcot for “fancy” food. MK is like kid Mecca, and a restaurant based on a kid movie, located in a kids park, with a character interaction, should be kid/family friendly, and most typical kids and families won’t find the new menu or prices appealing.
Well we haven't even seen the kids menu yet, so I'm not sure why anyone would jump to the conclusion that it won't be kid friendly. All the other signatures have very kid friendly options, as I'm sure BOG will too.

my 13 year old is a kid, but is too old for the kids menu, and there is nothing on this menu she would eat.

It's like people on here forget that everyone is not like them. I get that some people will like the menu. But there are many people like your child that can't even find something they remotely want to eat, and certainly not to justify the price it costs. If I want to go to a fancy restaurant in the city, that's one thing. I don't expect them to cater to the needs of every demographic. But I think the default in a theme park largely for kids and families should be towards kids. The theme park is the destination, the restaurants are just part of it. Especially in the MAGIC KINGDOM in the only restaurant themed to take you inside a kids movie. I think it should be much more acceptable to ask an adult that wants fine dining to go elsewhere than to isolate kids in Disney World.

Of the menu items announced so far the apps are:

French Onion Soup
Charred Octopus with citrus-laced fingerling potatoes, pickled hearts of palm and red pepper coulis
Escargot with herb garlic butter and toasted gremolata
a selection of assorted meats and artisanal cheeses such as chicken liver pâté, chorizo sausage Manchego, and truffle tremor

I'm pretty sure the 3 kids I'll be traveling with this summer (ages 17,12.5, 9) would eat at least 3 of the items listed.

For entrees:

Grilled Center-Cut Filet Mignon with potato au gratin, Romano beans, Cipollini marmalade and a cherry-laced red wine reduction
Smoked Black-Eye Pea Tortellini with roasted seasonal vegetables, tomato relish and basil-scented tomato water (bet the vegetarians will be happy!)
Poulet Rouge Chicken (sounds like roasted chicken with Poulet Rouge being the variety of bird)
Saffron-Infused Seafood Bouillabaisse
Roasted Lamb Chops
Kurobuta Pork Tenderloins

I anticipate no problems with those choices from the younger ones on my end.

Sorry if this has already been asked (or already explained) but with a prix fixe dinner menu, will they also still offer ordering a la carte off the menu? Will there still be a full menu?

From Disney listed in comments is the following exchange:

"
Is this in addition to the current menu or is it instead of?

  • Hi Kelly! This experience will be replacing the current dinner menu.

Right. So basically steak, chicken, pasta and pork. Lol They make those dishes sound a lot fancier than they'll probably be.

I've never eaten @ BOG in the past but heard such glorious stories about the interior's design. Hopefully the new menu will live up to the surroundings.

Well this counts us out. Glad we've ate there a few times - not worth 2 credits imo. But the beauty of Disney is there is something for everyone.

The menu doesn't appeal to me. I'm not a huge fan of fillet, with the exception of the one at Le Ceiller (the risotto makes it). No thanks to the chicken, lamb, and pork. Guess I can cross this one off of my get every trip list.

I've never been to BOG but I like the looks of this new menu. Doubt my DH would ever spring for such a price for a family of 5 when we have superior restaurants in our home city that also cost less but maybe a "one time splurge" on a trip....

Nowhere does it indicate signature level that I have seen. Where are you seeing this?
Well said - and I dearly hope the "Signature" label is not applied for purposes of crowd control yet AGAIN. Check the photos of the offerings at....

Also have to question.... at $55 OOP (too low for a real SIG)? Should two DDP credits not be closer to $70? Just my opinion.... looks like a very cheap OOP, or a very expensive DDP.

Leave this type of food at Epcot or Disney Springs or a resort hotel and keep the most heavily Disney-themed restaurant to the families.

All of these :thumbsup2. This is a restaurant heavily themed on a kids movie, in a park heavily geared towards kids. They've already made Akershus a difficult choice for some families due to the food options, and it seems like they are doing the same here. I know we don't know what the kids menu will be yet, but given that it will be a signature and the adult menu options seem fancy, it's hard to have high hopes for the kids menu. Not to mention that with it becoming 2 TS credits, it will be hard for many families to justify it, especially since MK already has a 2 credit meal geared towards kids that has 5 characters who actually come to your table (vs BOG with just 1 who doesn't come to the table), and has the princess announcements, wishing star ceremony and the little party favors.

It seems like they are moving BOG towards a more adult restaurant, and I really feel it should stay more geared for kids.

For those that have a problem with the new menu what are you looking for?

I mean, other than leaving it the same?
For me, it seems that they have beef, chicken, pork and seafood. They kept the "famous" onion soup, but added some others to try.

The kids menu hasn't come out yet, so at this point, there can't be anything wrong with it.
