Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Pas130 that is an amazing view during the day. It should be spectacular at night.
The pictures don't do it justice but we have SAB and Boardwalk it's awesome!

Refurb wise you can see the rooms on the 1st floor being done by the BC quiet pool. I can't comment on the noise because it was raining however it's not intrusive near the lobby area at all

We leave tomorrow and I did online check-in a couple of days ago. I requested a large balcony, near elevator. When I look up our reservation now, our standard booked room has been changed to this...

Room Type: Lagoon or Pool View. Wheelchair accessible with roll-in shower and option for hearing accessibility. 2 queen beds, 1 daybed

I can't imagine are there are many accessible rooms (I thought I read there were 22) any ideas where this might be? We are excited at the prospect of getting a pool or lagoon view. Typically we get parking lot views.
Did you check in today? I'm curious to know what room you got. My standard room now says GdWds with the roll in shower and hearing accessibility. I don't even know what GdWds means. Garden? Woods? :confused3

We check in on Sunday after 3 days at the Dark Side. I'm curious to see what we get, I've never seen such a specific room type before. When I clicked on the more information button, it spelled out all of the abbreviations.

From page 1 of this thread:

The hours at Stormalong Bay are determined by the BC/YC recreation managers and are often based on factors like crowd level, time of year, weather, etc. so it is difficult to predict the hours, particularly the closing time at night

Opening used to be at 10 am, but we have had reports from March 2014 that the opening time is 9 am (closing of 11 pm reported in March 2014) (closing of 11 pm reported in May 2014)

Guests in November 2014 report SAB operating hours of 9 am to 10 pm.

Posted hours of the Quiet Pools are 7 am to 11 pm

My question is when is the pool opening these days? Is it 9am or 10 am?

Jake I'm glad your foot feels kinda better but if you need me I'm here for you.

It's probably better if you just rent a scooter anyway, if just for the fact that I offer to decorate the scooter for you! I'm thinking of going all parade float and decorating it up big time. I think the best theme for you would be to make the scooter look like a giant mobile "Kitchen Sink" Ice Cream Sundae. This would involve you wearing a lot of spandex with foam scoops of Ice cream Velcro-ed to your outfit and the best part would be the hat you would be wearing that will look like a giant maraschino cherry. We could spray paint some cardboard silver to build a sink around the scooter.

The up side to this idea is that everyone will give you a wide berth as you navigate the parks. The down side is that small children will sneak over and try to steal your hat.

Let me know when you find your spandex outfit and then I'll get busy making the scoops.

I love it, count me in! Wait until you see my sprinkles!!!!

We check in on Sunday too. See ya there! :)

I'll be happy in any room. But I do hope I have a balcony. Although I'm sure most people would want a balcony.

I think I just spent all evening catching up on this thread and checking up on what's been happening in the eight months since I got to visit the BC. Right now I'm in the midst of planning a potential trip in February 2016, which will be my first with friends over my normal Disney buddy (Mommy dearest). Coordinating what could be 4 different flights (one of which is overseas), where to find the cheapest rate, and organizing potential reservations.... Clearly I must have had a few Sunken Treasures when I volunteered to take on the unofficial role of Travel Agent.

I just have a quick question when it comes to CL rooms. From what Disney's website could tell me, only standard view can accommodate 5 people. Is it a daybed provided or a pull-out queen couch? My mom and I were lucky enough to be upgraded (we're talking a full bucket 'o pixie dust) this past January to a Lagoon View CL room (from a normal Garden View) and I can't imagine the total lack of space with a pull out couch. For what it's worth, we'll probably be trying to book the YC for February because the potential for construction means possible discounts.

It is a daybed, the new daybeds are very nice, about the true size of a twin bed. Please make sure to include daybed with your requests. Enjoy! BC club level is great.

Phenomenal. Unfortunately we won't be at BC for our upcoming trip but I am hoping for a great view of it from Boardwalk Villas. Our DVC waitlist came through so we will be close by. I did book breakfast for Captain's Grill so I know we will be going there.

Thank you so much for the quick confirmation. We have a 13 year old who doesn't want to share the bed with his mom. Or maybe it's mom who doesn't want to share with him...

Either way, the information is incredibly useful.

thank you so much! I appreciate all my friends here sharing in my excitement. I'm waiting for my family to get up now. Our view included the Frozen fireworks last night...Ah-mazing! Lots of peeps checking in this weekend, very exciting

That sounds amazing. Glad to see you liked Anna Maria as well. that is our #2 behind WDW :)
