DH and I are headed down May 15-18th for a 3N 4 day getaway! His bday is the 18th! Have not made any requests and I probably won't. Booked at SV room. All I really want is a balcony to chill on while DH sleeps a bit later than me in the morning. Other thing is our flight gets in at 8:20am so I'd rather get in a room after breakfast at Kona then wait for one I have asked for. How is Kona for breakfast? Do we need a ressi? I'm imaging we should be there by 10am using MDE. I'm sure we will be hungry.

I doubt at 10:00 you'd have difficulty getting a seat. Most people will have cleared out by then and headed to the parks.
Love the Tonga Toast, and my daughters fav is the pancakes.

My dd and I eat lunch at Kona several times a year.(her fav) we have NEVER been unable to get a table. Sometimes we get right in up to 20-30 mins.

I have never had breakfast there but I have read over the years that many do and love it.

Have you used disneys site to book reservations? My dd and I will book same day ones right from our phone. It wouldn't hurt when you land or on ME to try booking then. If you can't get it then do stand by.

Poly is great trying to honor requests so if they a balcony available they will try to get it for you at earliest time. However, I have never been a fan of a patio vs balcony until I got one at poly. It is not a bad option for your second choice.

Yes, I have used it but HATE the cancellation policy! I didn't think about trying once we land though.

I am checking in April 14 in the villas.
I just got the letter today saying east pool will be closing mid April. But we could use the lava pool.

I called DVC to ask about the pool. She said they really wanted to get it open April 1 whe! DVC opened.
I said I never received a phone call about the closed pool and never offered the typhoon lagoon ticket.
She said that is because they are still trying it get it open as soon as the beginning of next week.
Yeah. Hope that is true.

She did say if the lava pool is closed when you are there they will give you a pass for typhoon laggin.

I got Mickey Mail today with my planning book.. I guess they dicontinued the magnet since our stay in February. The back page just has the days.. No magnet

Based on the pictures they are really pushing and it looks great. I would be surprised if they lava pool is not open for your stay!

Can anyone tell me the pool closing time?(I see tikiman just posted the new sign 8pm, hope it's later in August)
What will be open for late evening snacks?
How do we get to the boardwalk from the Polynesian? Walk to TTA and take a bus? Is that how we get anywhere except MK and the monorail hotels?
How late do the water taxis to mk and then to Ft. wilderness run?

This is our first Polynesian delux hotel stay! Thank you!

Resort buses don't stop at the TTC. You would have to transfer at a park or Disney Springs. You could take a bus to Hollywood Studios and then the boat to Boardwalk or catch a Boardwalk bus at MK.

Captain Cook's is open 24/7 for drink refills and the to go fridges I believe (the grill just closes at 11 or 12 - can't remember which).

No...You can take a bus from the Poly to Downtown Disney as well.

I've requested Moorea for our first stay at the Poly in August. I believe I read somewhere that this pathway is near Moorea. Is this accurate?

As well, since we'll be nearer the TTC, our plan is to get to MK and Ep using the TTC monorail, as opposed to the GCH. My questions are: are there buses that leave directly from the TTC to go to AK and DHS? And if so, would they be a quicker commute than those leaving the GCH? I mean, would there be less stops en route?

If its pixie dust I don't want to call and report it in case they stick me back in standard, but if its a bug instead I'd be sad if I didn't get my request. Any ideas?

I'd leave it just in case. Besides when you check in just make your request then. Good luck!

Maybe it is pixie dust! I'd just go with it, but don't get your hopes up too much just in case!!

Personally I prefer taking the Monorail from Poly to MK, it's more pleasant then the very crowded TTC. Same with bus to AK & DHS. Moorea is close to bus stop. But it is better to walk to TTC for Epcot.
I'm not sure though if TTC still has busses to the parks.

Are you sure that the back doesn't peel away from the book to become a magnet? That's what mine from late July and mid-March (just week before last) did. Is Dumbo still on it?
