I believe that all resort rooms have at least a mini fridge now. Could you look at menus and prices to try to see if DDP would be beneficial? I ran the numbers after one of our trips when both my kids were under 9 and it still saved us money but we don't typically share meals and used all CS and TS credits. I'm going to run the numbers after this trip but we're 4 adults now and after my trip won't really help you, sorry. For me, it's a huge weight off of me to know that meals are prepaid, it adds to my enjoyment of the trip.

Oh I did do that way back- my kids probably won't eat anything at BOG and Biergarten so it might not even work. I should probably call Disney and just get educated on what the meal plans are and the ways to use the credits. Maybe it will be too hot for anyone to want to eat and then we'll save money AND come home skinny!

Pop has a fridge in every room. All the values have them now. Pop is where we will be too! :)

Although we love free dining, I don't think I would ever purchase the meal plan. We always bring our own snacks and breakfast foods too. We always end up with several quick service meals left over on our last day, because we often get two or three meals to share at lunch (instead of 4).

We can't stand being too stuffed in that August heat! So we never really eat all that much in Disney!

Yes this is what I was counting on. I think we'll do fine without it. Also, I looked at menu prices and although they probably seem really expensive to most of the country they are comparable or even cheaper than places we eat where we live. I cannot wait!

:wizard:pixiedust: Officially Wishing My Summer AWAY :wizard:pixiedust:

This Summer arranging childcare has been a nightmare.:scared1:
I won't get into it, but believe me it's a fiasco. I can't wait until we are in Disney and it's all good!!!

Since I've never stayed on property and we've always taken advantage of the DCL onboard booking incentives- Im curious to know about room bounce backs. Are the time frames limited? Since Im a teacher the only time I can really go is summer- are you able to book any time or is there a window for just the less busier times?

Regarding the dining plan and deciding if it is worth it, on another thread someone posted this information.
The video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jMDg...456VJg&index=1

The website with the file is here: http:/www.seeyareelsoon.wix.com/seeyareelsoon

If you use this, you input all of the restaurants you will use, and calculates the price you will pay for food and tells you if the dining plan is worth it for your family. I found it very helpful.

My family has done the DP before and have found it to work out well for us. This trip we are not doing it. I am nervous to see how it actually works out for us but I figured I will only know if I actually try so why not! I have played around a lot with the above dining calculator. Now this is just what I found for my family (2 adults and 2 children) and this may not apply to all families. I found that if you do a lot of character meals then the dining plan seems to be worth it. If you only do 1 or 2 then paying out of pocket may work better.

Play around with the dining calculator (it is fun and helps to pass the time while waiting for your trip).

We are rope drop people. Up & out early then it depends on park closing time. If its a late close we take a break & if not we stay until the kids start to fizz out. Sometimes we schedule a lunch ADR for some downtime. I'd really like to do the break thing more often this year so we can do more night touring. We'll see if it works out for us.

Tomorrow is my ADR date for our December trip. I have been really been going back and forth with whether or not to buy the DDP for our December trip:confused3.
I always use my Macbook and that file won't open on it. Looks like I will have to take over the downstairs PC tonight after the kids are in bed and play around with it.
I am almost sure that OOP will work better for us. However I have based my restaurant choices for this trip on less expensive places because we'll be paying OOP.
I will do a Candlelight Processional Package (2 credits), A Hoop Dee Doo (2 credits). So right there it eats up half of my dining credits.
Besides those two I have planned for Counter Service and places like the Plaza and Rose and Crown which really aren't so bad compared to some places.

LOL.. Wow.. I managed to babble quite a bit there. :worried::laughing:

They are limited, but there is usually a pretty good range of dates. Black outs will generally be over major holidays and really busy time periods but there is quite a bit to choose from. Let me see if I can find you the current one...

Ok found a thread. This will give you an example but at this point it only appears to go to the end of this year..http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3070595

We only to AM EMH at AK. We do like the late EMH, but we don't do rope drop if we stay until 2am. Last time we had a trip with late hours like that, my then 7 yr old dd wanted to stay until closing (3 am ... there were 3 hour EMH then), but by 2 mom and dad were too tired.

We do go back and swim and nap. On the previously mentioned 3 am day, dd had taken a swim and then slept for 4 hours.

My family definitely prefers the late night touring these days. That's why I only made a few breakfast adrs and only one is early.

Same here. I can't seem to get my kids moving in the am. My kids are 14 &10.

I'll toss out a QOTD:

Will you be pre-purchasing the Photopass CD before your trip, or maybe purchasing the Photopass + ?

Or will you be using your own camera exclusively to capture all your vacation memories?

Haven't decided yet. How much time in advance do I have to buy the pp?

How much is pp+ and what does it include? As much as Id like to believe we would take our own pictures I know it won't happen with our 4 and 2 year old to in tow!

We're at CBR too. And I have a 9 year old too...is your 9 yr a dd or ds? my dd is so into Pirates right now she's excited for the pool! we requested jamaica and aruba too.

I have a 9 year old son. He turned 9 in March:)

Ha! And I was going to pay it off in chunks so it wouldn't hurt as much.......not sure what happened to that plan! We've only made the initial deposit too!

This is us too. But I have been squirreling away a predetermined amount and putting it in a separate account. Once July 11th rolls around I'll make the payment and then slap the whole amount back on the card.
Our tip money, spending money, waterpark money, airport parking money and hopefully rental car money will be set aside in the pay periods before we go.
I could put it all on a card but I get so depressed when I get home and have bills to pay off. Plus, it would cut into our budget for the December trip if we were still paying for August:crazy2:. All I have done for that one is the room paid off (we rented DVC points months ago) and we have two day tickets that we'll be upgrading. A lot of saving to do for that one still!

UGH! Just went shopping in the new shoes I bought for disney after reading lots of threads on the boards (I have plantar fasciitis and bursitis) and after an hour and a half I had the same old foot pain. I'll be going back through the threads so I can make another attempt to find something that might keep me out of a wheelchair :sad2:

What did you get? I have tons of issues with my feet, but last year I got some new Nikes that are SO lightweight and breathable and comfy! Of course I can't remember what they're called...

Then this year we all got Keen sandals and I've worn them quite a bit to make sure they'll be ok and they've been good too!!

They were Teva Tirra's... lots of recommendations on the boards for them. I'm going through the threads again making a list of brands that have been recommended, Keen is one of the brands I've seen a lot. I worry about an enclosed show because my feet swell badly.
