Noel, I wouldn't have expected you to print them out for everyone. You need the weight for your shoes anyway.;):lmao:

I was expecting to be printing off the Dis Navigator they you and John are kindly organising. It might be a big job getting everyone's room numbers though.:confused3

Two thoughts for the day.

First, I CANNOT print 100+ copies to bring along. I may print a few copies but not one for everyone. If we were only going to Florida, I wouldn't mind printing but the weight to Barcelona is just too expensive to bring that many copies.

Second, I will have the DIS Navigator done before the cruise and it will be available online on the website for people to print themselves. Any changes or corrections after I close the DIS Navigator will have to be posted. I guess we can just use the white board to announce changes or a make a telephone tree once on board. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Yes, I KNEW we were printing our own but DUH . . . it never occurred to me to wonder "from where":confused3

:thumbsup2 We're sooooo appreciative of your efforts and organizational skills :worship:. I wouldn't expect you to print and lug the navigators (that would just be crazy), and I don't think anyone else would, either. With the pins and lanyards, your FE/SM gifts, and the 7 extra suitcases I'm sure you're bringing (plus whatever poor John has), that's enough! Not to mention, you're managing the Madeira tours. As far as changes, I'm hoping those of us who are GTY will have our assignments before the week of the cruise (DCL, Come On Already) so the #s make the Navigator; if not, we'll have to rely on the whiteboard. :confused3

hi, somebody asked for curlywurlys a couple of weeks ago and i said i would pick some up for them, very sorry but i cant remember who it was that asked, just wanted to let you know that i have them hidden ready to pack for you, susie

hi, we have also booked the 10.30 tour, we booked through the link that sarah put on here and got our email back straight away cant wait it looks great

Hi Susie,

I am the one that requested Curlywurlys. I could not for the life of me find our posts on this. Thank you so much for remembering. Is there anything you would like from the states in exchange? If not, how much do I owe you? I am in room 8574 or I could come to your room if you like or we can exchange on the Santa Maria, LOL.

Noel,

I have no problem with you posting our cabin number: 8574. We are hoping to upgrade at the port and will put on the white board if we do. Can you please give me a link to the website that the navigator will be on?

Thanks,
Nickole

I am never going to catch up on what I missed over the weekend so I will hang fire for Lynne's recap post. Hope I didn't miss anything important. We all had a great time at the 2010 WBTA reunion ... but it went too quickly as ever.
Those of us on the 2011 WBTA were very excitable :yay::yay::yay::yay: I wonder why. It was great to part company with the words " See you in 21 days on the Magic .... woooo hoooo !!!

And feel free to publish our names / room number in whatever it is ... not a problem :thumbsup2

I really enjoyed the reunion, and got to meet lots of people I didn't actually meet on the cruise last year. Thanks again for organising it Sarah :)

I am lost on the thread.... sorry if I've missed anything important too.

Just wanted to say Happy Birthday my DH Neil....:cake: We'll be celebrating onboard :)

Happy birthday to Neil  Enjoy your celebrations on board. It's my birthday when we are on the cruise. I hope you'll join me for a cocktail :)

I have no problem with our names and cabin number in the navigator - I am not sure I will find a printer before coming as we are already gone and are in Germany BUT I will print it on the ship if I have to! don't fret about bringing copies for everyone - if I can figure it out, so can everyone :)

Krisann

I have a lot of catching up to do on the thread but I have a request:

Favor to ask! If you were on the EBTA in May of 2011 or on the WBTA or EBTA in 2010 would you please drop me an email at akblair@charter.net - letting me know your DIS name and which cruise you were on. If you do not want to email me you can use facebook. I am trying to do something and want to make sure I do not miss anyone!

Krisann

I have sent you an email .... :thumbsup2

A little venting follows:

So SIL and MIL got back from Thailand last night. We let them take all of our luggage with them. They flew back into Charleston, WV on Wednesday which is 2.5 hours from our house. Then MIL brought SIL back to Morgantown last night. So James goes to the car to get the luggage and comes back in saying, "Where's the other 2 suitcases?" MIL says she left them in Charleston because she didn't unpack yet. Then says, "Oops did you guys need them?" And does her childlike -I forgot -laugh. Then asks "When do you leave"

Are you joking with me?!?!?! We've told her and SIL multiple times that we leave on Sept 4th which is in 2 weeks! She says well I thought you had more luggage. Why would we have more than 4 suitcases?!? We usually only go away for 1 week at a time and take 1 or 2 suitcases with us. I think I'm going to rip my hair out... or maybe hers. Then they proceed to get Lorelei all hyper again when they came home right before her bed time. Okay vent over... I feel better. It will be nice to be away for 3 weeks and not have to deal with Tweedle dee and Tweedle dum!

Welcome back Sarah :goodvibes

Thanks  Hope you manages to sort out your baggage issues and your MIL issues, and keep relatively sane in the process. Just remember to breathe deeply and count to 10, or maybe 100 :)

I really enjoyed the reunion, and got to meet lots of people I didn't actually meet on the cruise last year. Thanks again for organising it Sarah :)

Happy birthday to Neil  Enjoy your celebrations on board. It's my birthday when we are on the cruise. I hope you'll join me for a cocktail :)

We really enjoyed it too .... just went too quickly for my liking. When is your birthday Julie .... I have my birthday on the cruise too. :thumbsup2

Being a MIL for many years, I appreciate your comments as things can get difficult!! My own mother refused to the holiday celebrations after I got married as they were in her words, "Too much trouble!" What she really meant was too much expense!!

On the flip side, I remember several comments from my SIL after DH and I paying for a week for the entire family in WDW at Xmas and the Walt Suite on the Magic for NYE that he think cruising is boring, he was tired of WDW and would rather do other things.

Second comment from my DIL was I should not want my son or GKids to be part of our family since the family lives so far away. She really does not like to share her "family" with ours and that fact has always created problems.

From my perspective, there can be problems on both sides. I can not tell you how many times I have bitten my tongue to refrain from saying things or "I told you so!" I am sure my own kids and their spouses have done the same with comments and advice I have given to them!!

For example, this weekend, my DD's BF Nick got mad at my DH John as he told him that he should treat my DD Samantha like a Princess. This comment came when Nick was complaining Sam had way too many clothes. John told him to get over it as it wasn't as if Nick way paying for her clothes. John told him as far as he was concerned that Sam should have anything she wanted especially if she was working and paying for it. This led to a discussion of parenting styles which Nick has now decided is an attack on his deceased father's style of parenting. Sometimes no matter what you say, you just can't win.

Just my thoughts...

Loved the pics of La Boqueria. I've been visiting their website, too, trying to have some of the information translated (google) for the bars/cafes. I've discovered that the menus they provide in English aren't necessarily the same as the Spanish or Catalan menus when translated...it's interesting. We didn't buy anything there last year; we were in a rush and slightly intimidated by it all, but this year will be different (at least a juice or two!)

Isnt' it funny how a place can be intimidating the first time but the second time its just so much more comfortable? We always walk through the Boqueria and get fruit & juices, but looking at the photos I'm tempted to buy a few more things to take home.

What a pain the a$%! So will they be responsible for getting the suitcases back to you or will you have to drive and get them? In-laws can be tough - but I can't complain since mine live several states away. ;)

Hi Noel, Certainly nobody should expect you to print out all of the DIS Navs - that is just crazy and you're already doing so much. Since I opened my big mouth about the names/room #'s, let me know if I can help you with this.

Maybe we could have a google document where everyone goes in and types in their own room # next to their DIS Name? - that way you wouldn't have to beg or search for the info. People could post it if they wanted & if not, we'd just delete them from that list.

I have no problem with our names and cabin number in the navigator - I am not sure I will find a printer before coming as we are already gone and are in Germany BUT I will print it on the ship if I have to! don't fret about bringing copies for everyone - if I can figure it out, so can everyone :)

Krisann

Krisann, I can print a copy for you if you like - one extra isn't going to make a difference in my packing - just let me know.

Am I sensing a little hostility here?:rotfl2:It's amazing how many ways in-laws find to get under our skin :headache:, but just remember MIL gave you James! (It's the only way I have sanely managed 31 yrs. with my own MIL)

So, is MIL bringing the suitcases back to you this week?
Oh no she wants us to pack up the little one and come get the suitcases. I'm hoping DH will just meet her half way on Saturday and grab lunch with her but I'm somehow sensing a trip to Charleston in our future.

Just my thoughts...

I agree and I know that things can often be misinterpreted or come out wrong. I often think how I will be a MIL someday. But years of her crazy coming into my house, rearranging my kitchen, going through my mail and jewelry. I've kind of just let it all go and usually just put it out of my mind and bite my tongue. Family dynamics are always tough that's for sure. Especially since SIL has been living with us for 6 years.

Noel I didn't expect that you print for us all. We can do it ourselves. And I set it on my iPad en Paul on his laptop. So it is always availabel for everyone.

And for the list, you can put our names on it. But still no cabinnumber.

And for the one with the magnets. I have bought magnetic tape and bring it on the ship. If anybody need it you can get some tape at our cabin.
Noel you can put that on the navigator.

I'm glad you had a nice time at the reunion weekend.

I'm almost afraid to actually start putting things in suitcases, only to find out 3, 4, or 5 won't be enough!! Funny thing is, every cruise I've been on I've packed too much. Yet I continue to take a lot of "what if" and "just in case" wear. Literally should put half back in the closet, shouldn't I?

I've heard before that you should get out all the clothes you think you need to pack......then HALVE it!!!! :lmao: I do that with DH's but not mine. :rotfl2:

I am lost on the thread.... sorry if I've missed anything important too.

Just wanted to say Happy Birthday my DH Neil....:cake: We'll be celebrating onboard :)

:bday: Neil!!!! I hope you've had a great day.

Just think in 3 weeks time we will be on the ship & your MIL/case hassles will all be a distant memory.

I am sure those still waiting will get them at least a week before the cruise???? At least I hope they do!!!! I can't see how DCL can delay them anymore than that?

Anyone have any ideas why they are holding them back? Surely it can't be that they are hoping to sell more at this late stage? :confused3

I think it would be much easier if I spoke Spanish, but I don't (despite 3.5 yrs of it in high-school!). But, yes, now that I've been there and have a better idea of what's offered (and will have more euros on-hand), I'll feel much more comfortable picking up lunch...in just over 2 weeks!!!!:cool1: What will you buy to take home?

Maybe we could have a google document where everyone goes in and types in their own room # next to their DIS Name? - that way you wouldn't have to beg or search for the info. People could post it if they wanted & if not, we'd just delete them from that list. Good idea; this worked well last year.

OK, that would make me crazy, too :headache:. Seems like many of us could be starring players (with PFlamingo, of course) on a reality show. Keeping up with the Dissers, anyone?

Hi all,

Noel, thanks for doing the Navigator! You are an absolute jewel. I'm happy to print my own.

Andrew and I leave in 13 days and I'm in a state of panic! I know somehow it will all get done, but how is unimaginable at this moment.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Keri

Excuse me. partialy computer illiterate here. What is this Google doc everyone is speaking of for Dis names/cabin #'s? If I could beg someone to put my name/cabin# on it and email me a copy when it is done, or just tell me how to find it. I can take directions, I would be eternally greatful and buy you an FAB on board. I don't believe it's been done yet? :worship::worship::worship::worship:

I hope you get your suitcases in time, you need them now to pack !!! I would have had steam coming out of my ears. And it must be hard to say no to the inlaws, how insensitive of them, but that seems to be the way with some inlaws, they just have a way of getting under your skin. But it all depends on which side of the fence you are sitting

Michelle, wish Neil a happy birthday from us :bday: :yay::yay: It's my birthday the week after the cruise, so lots and lots of excuses to celebrate this trip :cool1::cool1: :drinking1

:bday::bday:Happy Birthday to Neil

It seems so many of us have birthdays just before/ on /after cruise. So many celebrations on board including mine:dance3:

Noel thank you so much for all your hard work. And I'm sure everyone can print their own copies. A phone tree sounds good, or if it's a big change would they print it in the disney navigator
