HAPPY SUMMER BREAK!!!
Yup we are down to 2 half days left and of those I only have students one of the two periods and the rest are off periods! I don't even see students today until 11:15am!!!
It's going to be a crazy weekend with graduation and church but I have vowed to find time to clean my house and pack LOL!!!

Nope, not yet. Today I am running a few last minute errands, we have friends coming over for a start-of-summer ice cream party, tomorrow we have our DIS meet and a graduation party for a family friend. I figure I will do laundry and pack on Sunday.

We are actually having a nice day so I'm going to get out and pull some of the gargantuan weeds that have popped up!!! Need to soak up some Vitamin D too!
Unfortunately, it looks like our holiday weekend is going to be wet.
My kids have 9 more days of school after today. They think it's going to take forever. I think it will fly by!

The bad weather came through, but it was pretty mild. Thank goodness. Just wind, hail, and some wicked lightning and thunder. Nala was so scared, she wouldn't even eat her dinner.

Storms here are coming through. Our tornado warning got cancelled but jillyb may have it worse than i do. Local news with weather every 10min is on and I am listening to the wind howl.
Thanks, Pat! We were fortunate and didn't have any tornado warnings -- just enough thunder and lightning to make poor Nala a quivering mess.
We (my well-behaved students and I) get to have the last laugh today. Part of our Field Day includes a 40 minute session with 8 big inflatables to run/jump/slide on - a huge favorite with the kids. Those kids will be sitting out during that time, not getting to participate. Amazingly, they get very humble and obedient when they see the guys blowing up the inflatables as they arrive in the morning, but I do not cave for one second. They terrorized and disrupted their classmates, and now they pay the price.
Yep, I am that mean. I will not be a part of letting them get away with their behaviors and still reaping the rewards that the kids get who did what they were supposed to.
You rock, MeMom! I am in total agreement that the kids have to learn there are consequences for their behavior.
It was fine where I live. It fizzled out after it roared through uptown Charlotte and headed toward the speedway. We had some flashes of lightening (like heat lightening) and hardly had any wind. We didn't get any rain at all!

I wouldn't want to be those kids today! Alison's field day was supposed to be today but it got canceled due to the weather. Hannah's is next week.
If they were middle schoolers, they would just stay home. That's what most of ours do when they can't participate in an activity.
OK...I have to correct myself. Apparently we DID get some rain last night. It wasn't until I walked out the door this morning that I could tell it had rained.
There was no doubt that we had rain last night -- it was just a pouring here!
