Official JUNE 2008

Just got back very late last night. Had a great time.
Weather was hot and humid! When it did rain the parks lost about 1/3 of the crowds. Pack rain gear for all who are still waiting to leave.
Didn't meet any Disers :(, where were ya'll :confused3

We had a great time also. Got back about 11:00pm last night. Did you get delayed due to the rain like us? I didn't see any Disers either, which really surprised me with all of the people going same time as us. Maybe next time.

I was there June 10-15 and I didn't see any trace of Disers either. I DID meet one lady in line at The Great Movie Ride who asked about my LGMH. She said she had been on the site and got many tips, so I gave her one of my LGMHs with my username. Hopefully she will look me up. I did see lots of people wearing lime green, but no LGMHs. I did not want to mortify my DH & 2 DD's, so I did not approach them. There was one large group with matching lime green shirts and every time I saw them I kept thinking it was Disboard friends, but alas, no.

STILL had a great time and hope to do a trip report with pics when I get them all from the rest of the crew.

We got back very late last night as well and I am SO SAD to be home. The after vacation let down is so hard, especially after a Disney vacation. For all of you still headed there, have fun!!!!!!

We got back very late Friday night and I was so sad to leave that I cried as we left MK Thursday night. :( I feel so silly, but I really love WDW so much.

We had a difficult vacation with my wife having some health issues that limited our time in the parks and the bank that owns a house we put a bid on, suddenly wanted to close in less than a week. We spent three days constantly on our cell phones talking to our real estate agent and running around getting 60+ page faxes, over nighting documents and finding a notary. Just as I thought we'd need to leave early, our agent emailed me to say that the bank wanted to close in 3 days, so we lost the deal. All of that stress colored our trip and I really got grumpy that we didn't spend as much time in the parks as I would have liked.

I like to get up at 7 and be at the parks by 8, leave around 2 for a few hours and go back in the evenings until close. Well, with my wife's health, we usually didn't get to the parks until noon (hottest freaking part of the day) and left around 3pm when it rained. Sometimes we went back around 7 for a few more hours. Of course, we also completely lost 3 complete days to the whole house nightmare.

So, a bit of a disappointing trip. Not a bad trip, any trip to WDW has it's wonderful parts and heck, just being at a fantastic Disney Resort is a wonderful thing. We loved AKV and being able to see the animals from our balcony was awesome.

Now, I'm looking forward to our October trip and I'm so hoping that it will be a calmer trip with much more park time!

Iggipolka - I'm sorry your trip didn't go as planned. How nice you are going again in October! Good luck with the house search!

TheMudd - Nice trip report! Glad you guys had a fun trip!

We've been back 2 days and I am already trying to talk DH into going again but he wants to wait until next year!!!! I can't wait that long. DD (almost 3) is asking for Disneyworld already!!!

Our trip was planned for May 29th through June 7th but we had to cancel. I unexpectedly got a new job which, at least, pays more money with a lot less work! My new boss is a longtime friend/associate of mine and had been bugging me to come to work for him for years. His secretary just up and left him and he was in such a fix I couldn't leave him without anybody. Our vacation was scheduled to begin just two days after I took the new paralegal position.

My daughter attends a missionary college in Georgia and is scheduled to graduate her first year in July. So, I couldn't very well tell my boss that I was taking off for WDW AND my daughter's graduation. So, new job and daughter's graduation won out over WDW.

This is the first year that we haven't made our annual trip to WDW. It's still killing me. As a matter of fact, I was just now able to even log on to the boards 'cause it makes me so sad.

Oh well, I guess it'll just make next year's trip all the more sweeter,

Just back today...We had a great trip. Even though it rained a bit almost every day it never seemed to last more than an hour or it rained when we were taking our afternoon nap. We got to the parks at rope drop on most days.

Yesterday, June 22 Sunday, we did MK in the am. It was not crowded at all, went back to room around 2pm then back to the park at 8pm and stayed until 1 am. We has a great last day. The afternoon rain really cooled off the evening and after 11 it was a walk on for most rides and only 20 minutes for the mountains.

Overall the weather was not as hot as I was expecting it to be, or the heat wave we had in MD prior to our trip got us into condition!

Typical Florida thunderstorms. Normally over in about 30 minutes.

Well Chuck I wished that we're true for my trip now. Every day it has thunderstormed and for the last 2 days they have lasted for more than 2 hours during the afternoon and evening! My family and I stayed at Seaworld when a lot of other people left. I was hoping and praying for better weather for us all. Now my two nieces all starting to feel under the weather which is never good when you're on vacation. Our waitress Belinda at AK Bomas was so great and got my nieces tea, lemon wedges and little jars of honey to help their sore throats. Well to any one coming down soon don't forget those ponchos, umbrellas and some meds in case you or your littles ones get wet and start to feel sick. It's very gloomy outside right now as I type this.

We got back yesterday from our 11 day trip and it was great! The best part was that when we checked into our room at the Grand FLoridian, we were notified we had been upgraded to a room with a castle view!!!! Made the AKL kind of pale in comparison, LOL!

We just got back Tuesday from our trip. We were there since the 16th. Just as you said, even though it did rain almost every day, it was never for very long.

We usually go in July, and we were surprised about how different WDW is in June! The parks seemed less crowded, the rain in the afternoon actually cooled things off, the weather overall was not as hot as July, and evening EMH's were less crowded as well!

Overall, we are going back in June again!

We had a wonderful time. We were there from the 9th to the 20th. We stayed offsite in a 5 bedroom pool home that we shared with my parents and my sister & her family. I was really worried that we would lose some of the magic if we weren't onsite but it turned out to be great. We would hit the parks at opening, head back to the house for a swim and a rest, and then go back to the parks in the evenings. We also took a beach day and went to Siesta Key just south of Tampa. It was beautiful, could have spent a week there! When we headed home we stopped the first night in Pensacola and noticed that our car wasn't running just right. We went ahead and headed towards houston the next morning and it seemed fine once we got out on the interstate. Once we hit Houston, I took one of the toll roads and had to slow down for the tolls. That's when the trouble started. I couldn't get it to go over 30 mph after that. So we pulled over at the first hotel we came to and thought that maybe in the morning it would make it home. We were just 1 1/2 hours away from home!!!!! Anyway the next morning we found out that my car was broken into and they took 2 ps2, camera and more than 75 movies!!!!! But the good thing is the car did make it home. Its in the shop now. The transmission went out! I didn't expect anything that major with only 75,000 miles on it. The vacation ended badly and with the break in and repair it cost more but boy we sure had a great time. can't wait to do it again. :)

As soon as I started reading your post.. I, literally, said oh no, they stayed offsite in a rental home. In 2000, we stayed in a suite offsite. While we were in the pool, less than an hour, someone broke into our room and stole my jewelry, my sister's credit cards and just a bit of cash. This was our last day in Florida. I had taken my jewelry and had rolled it up in a very small envelope and put it in a small pocket of my purse. I know. I know. Why didn't you lock it up in the safe? Well, we were just going to the pool for an hour and who knew they would have broken into the room.

So, why did I say all that? The Deputy we spoke to told us that we were actually lucky that they didn't take more. He said that the rental homes are the ones that usually get hit and hit HARD. Thousands of dollars worth of personal items, credit cards, etc.

Every time I hear someone say they rent a home in Kissimmee or Orlando, red flags go up!
