NOW post and share your digital pics!! Great photos inside:)

I don't know why I never looked...

I always presumed you were from Florida, I woulda known better if I'd looked...that's alotta pictures Mickey! I'll be saving that link for when I have a day or two to look thru them~

Thanks Mickey88!

I got a season pass to the faire last season, figuring it would be a good place to play with my new camera...I only missed one or 2 days... so yes there are a lot of pics...LOL

Those Renaissance Fairs can be a real "interesting" place to roam with a camera.

I got this one a few months back at the fair outside of Houston. Interesting outfit.........

This was taken with my S2 IS. It was on Auto, still working on learning other parts of the camera. I thought it was so cool how you could see the craters.

Great capture!!! :thumbsup2

Did you have the camera on a tripod?

No. I had put the kids on the bus and saw how pretty the moon was and just ran in and grabbed the camera. I took more than one but they were pretty fuzzy. I guess I just lucked out on it. :)

In regards to moon pictures. I was reading another forum and a poster said he prefers to take pictures of the moon after the full phase, about the 2nd or 3rd quarter. The shadows gives it more definition. I'll have to try this, since the photos I've taken are pretty blah....

A few from the beach the other evening...

Awesome pictures. I have been trying to catch the twins jumping and different things just to see the camera catch it. I have some funny ones of them throwing beanbag chairs and jumping over balls. They are such willing participants, like telling me to go get the camera. :)

Not to be critical, but this could be a little misleading to some. The most definition comes from the 1st and 3rd quarter. The 2nd quarter is a full moon. I believe that you are talking about the correct thing though. It is the most defined when you see half dark and half light. They call it quarters b/c there is a front and a back to the moon. It is locked in orbit with only one side ever facing Earth. One day on the moon is ~27 Earth days.

Sorry, Astronomy is another hobby of mine. :)

I just found a website that demonstrates the phases. http://www.calculatorcat.com/moon_phases/moon_phases.phtml

Your absolutely right! I was paraphrasing the other poster...... :rolleyes1
Thanks for the link! More I have to learn.

So the phase before and after the full phase, waxing or waning gibbous looks like the best time.

Do you shoot with a telescope?

Do you know what X is is, like 2x or 10x, etc?

My camera is at home so I had to go look it up on the internet. It has a 12X optical and a 4.0X digital. I hope this is what you wanted. :)

Oops! Kevin beat me to it. Cool, love the new way to edit. I am so easily amused. :)
