With my stocking feet still in the air, I am having a detailed discussion of the merits of locally brewed India Pale Ales with the staff of the TSA.

Then we covered the Victory Storm King Stout and the Brooklyn Brewing Chocolate Stout (OK it isn't a PA beer but ZW likes it.)

I guess I passed the good ole boy test and was allowed to move on to the gate, beer in hand, or back in pack more accurately.

Walking to the gate I pulled out my cell phone. Called a friend and arranged to have him break into my house (I figured he was a member of the local Borough Council and most likely wouldn’t get arrested.) find my wallet and have it Fedex-ed down to Disney’s Boardwalk.

I was very luck to have a ticket agent who took a little individual license and initiative in stead of my driver’s license and let me go. This would have never happened at a busy big city airport.

We fly to Tampa St Pete watching Pirates of the Caribbean on the lap top. It is hard to hear but passes the time nicely. It was a nice direct flight and an easy airport to move through.

Yes it is a little farther to drive than from Orlando’s airport but not much. The ease of getting through the airport makes up for some of it. Not traveling through Hartsfield in Atlanta more than made up for the rest.

Before we got the smoking great deal flying out of Allentown we were going to take the Auto Train. We were going to leave on the 20th and arrive on the 21st.

When we moved from train to plane Zurgswife moved fast booking the cheap fair while seats were available. So it is understandable that that she focused on the departure date not the arrival date when she made the reservations. So we were going to get to WDW a day before our DVC reservations started.

I think we were booked into every hotel in the Greater Orlando Metropolitan Area at one point or another. We ended up staying the first night in Pop Century. It had only been open a week. The kids loved it. It was the first Disney Resort we have stayed in that has Casino.

We have been making fun of the look of Pop Century for years. You know us DVC snobs, putting down the place based one the view driving by on the way to WalMart.

We all decided that Pop Century was a lot nicer close up. The lobby was interesting and nicely themed. This was good because there was a huge line of people checking in. They had plenty of help at the desk but lots of rookies with questions. While Kimball spent 55 minutes in line and 3 checking in I kept track of the kids.

This is when we found the Casino.

It looks like any other arcade. Look closer.

You put cash in a machine and get chips. You play games with the chips. One game is a spinning wheel of various colors, red, green, etc..

Players ante up a chip and pick a color. A ball bounces around the wheel and settles in a color. The winning color earns tickets based on the number of places the ball can fall that are that color. The winner then takes the stack of winning tickets to an ATM like booth that cashes the tickets in for a bar coded ticket. Finally the ticket can be exchanged for valuable prizes.

At Pop Century this is called an Arcade game. Close to home in Atlantic City we call this game Roulette. Shakespeare who said a Rose is a Rose. Either way we had a good time but Connor may need to visit Gamblers anonymous.

The rooms at Pop Century are nice enough. They clearly had gone out of their way to welcome the famous BadShoe Crew as the picture I took but some how lost showed. (Editors note: I lost a bunch of pictures some how. One was our door at Pop Century with a giant bad shoe right above it.)

I think we were the first people to stay in the pair of room we had as the hot water had not yet been turned on under the sink of one of our rooms. Once it was on there was still no hot water but while we were out at dinner and shopping at Downtown Disney housekeeping replaced the workings of the valve and all was well.

The rooms were comfortable and well themed. The grounds were very cool. At a human scale the over-sized Big Wheel and Fooseball guys were great fun. It was cold but Blair and Delaney insisted on swimming. While Kim took them to the pool, I took Connor back to the Casino.

Zurgswife and I feel that with more time they will get the timing of the plumbing down to the point that guest will hear music from the pipes. We agreed that the notes were there to play Christmas carols. We could clearly tell that the gentleman in the room above was hitting the water before flushing.

We got up early, excited to get going. Kim was out the door before 7 thinking she would dash over to Boardwalk and get checked in. Our plan was to take the luggage over for bell services to hold until the room was ready and get to the parks.

While she was out I walked over for coffee, $2.12 for a cup of Nescafe. People complain about Starbucks, $1.80 there gets a large cup of good coffee with the pretentious cup size called Venti.

It is about a 3 minute drive. Where was Kim for an hour?
