Wonder southern Caribbean cruise Puerto Rico

We were there January 2018 and enjoyed the Marriott Resort Stellaris Casino. It is just off Old San Juan on nice beach, CVS nearby, nice restaurant. We liked the taxi driver from the airport and got his phone number to call whenever we wanted to go to Old San Juan or to port. Seemed like either was ~$15 per trip.
We booked a “resort for a day” off the Wonder there in February and liked the hotel so much, we’re staying there after our NYC to San Juan Cruise in November.

I am excited to hear that! I agree on Orlando hard to travel all that way and not do a WDW day.... I am excited to see and try some new things. I think my kids are disappointed there is no Aquaduck and the great mouse detective ship game. So hoping they find some other things to love and they forget all about those!
My daughter was also worried about that since she had only been on the Dream and Fantasy previously. She got over it very quickly. She made some great friends and they planned movie times in the theater and on deck together, went to the club/lab and Edge together, did crafts together, etc. The kids' areas weren't nearly as crowded and I think she really liked that because they could pretty much do what they wanted when they wanted without waiting or large crowds. She definitely enjoyed it more than our Med cruise on the Magic this summer. She loved the Magic cruise, but didn't really make any friends and the kids areas were always pretty crowded when she was in them. I think she didn't make a lot of friends because people were off the ship most of the time and the kids areas were crowded because everybody was in them in the few hours that people weren't off doing excursions.

We are booked on the January 20th cruise. I agree, All the added pre and post travel costs can really add up! I’m loving all these recommendations as well. We were booked on the same one last year, but changed to PC after the hurricane happened. We definitely want to walk around OSJ and the forts as well.
I just booked the January 20 cruise last night! It’s my first time sailing out of PR too! I wonder if any of the hotels offer free shuttles to the port...

I don't think so but not positive. Last year when I was reading all the posts about PR I didn't see any that offered shuttles. We took a taxi and it was not very expensive for 4 adults with luggage. Please let us know if you find one with a free shuttle to the port. I would love to go again this January.

San Juan Marriot Resort & Stellaris Casino is the official Disney cruise hotel, so that includes transportation. It's not going to be the best price though.

We are booked on 1/27. We are flying in a day early and staying at the Marriott Resort Stellaris Casino.
