When do you put on your Magic Bands?

Newbie here! I know it is a silly question but I was just wondering when you put your magic bands on? When you get to the hotel? We are flying, then taking the Magic Express to AoA. When do you usually put them on?

Right before we get to magical express. They scan your bands to let you through.
Last year, we put DS's band on when he was sleeping. Then when he woke up, he saw the band and that's when he found out we were going. I took it off him until we landed since he was only 6 and I didn't trust him not to lose it!

I put mine on to second the plane lands. If it were up to me, I'd put them on the second they came in the mail :) You will get to scan them at the airport before you board the ME, so anytime at MCO airport would be fine.

Thank you!! I will probably do it before we land then! :) I'm with you I have been wanting to put it on since they came in the mail! :)

We just went and put ours on when we left to go to the airport. I was worried they might fall off, but they all stayed on great, water parks and all! Have a blast!

The kids have been trying to put them on since the boxes came as well!
Oh and we are from CS too.

I put mine on right before the plane started the final descent into MCO when I went last fall. It sparked a conversation with a first-time visitor on the plane, and I ended up helping her find the Magical Express counter.

No you won't loose them. They have a secure closure. I have a large wrist. Its even waterproof you can wear them in the pool.

The first time you need them is when you check in at the Magical Express.

The question is what do you put on the card.
1. When ordering you put your name or nickname.(if you have several that's how you tell the difference). And the main person has all the info for the group. Reservations and fast passes.
2. What you put on the card once your there:
if you charge something to room.
3. It's the room key

It does everything the card did before.

Somebody mention they have young child. If they get lost the info is all on the wrist band.

Hmm I thought they had to activate them at the resort. But you scan them before getting on Magic Express ?

I put mine on when I am getting ready to leave my house for the airport! I wear it the whole way.

After the bands are mailed, they show up in your MDE account. The default is active. You can deactivate and reactivate yourself.

We are driving in, stopping half way to spend the night, and journeying on the next day. Putting mine on that morning and wearing it all the way there!

Not to change the topic of this thread, but I did lose mine. Last year, we were leaving MK and I was carrying 2 year old DD. We were being escorted out after our dinner at LTT since we weren't staying for the MVMCP that night. After I got off the bus at our hotel, I realized I didn't have my band on. I was super sad and devastated. We called the desk and it was deactivated by them, and they told me I could pick up a grey one at anytime. They gave us the numbers to the buses and MK lost and found and the next day when we called, the MK had it! I was super happy. But it actually snapped off quite a few times for me and my husband when we were carrying children, but we were aware of it so never lost them again. And I have a small wrist (I could peel off the outer part, but it don't), and DH has an average guy wrist. Their leg or something drags across the flap of the band just right, especially when you shift the child, so it unsnaps and falls off. I would consider some kind of slider on the back (if that exists) to keep it more secure this year. If you aren't carrying kids, I don't think you will have a problem!

Lots of people wear them on the flight down, and really funny, I saw loads of people wearing them on the flight HOME. :happytv:

I put mine on as soon as I was through security at my home airport. Then I was all set to go as soon as we landed at MCO.

I really dislike the feeling of the MB on my wrist so I only put it on when absolutely necessary. Most of the time its in my pocket or looped around a bag strap.

I did this too! I wasn't sure about going through the security scanner with it, but I was sure I'd end up checking & re-checking my carry-on a million times to make sure I still had it, so decided I'd just put it on. I loved seeing other people in the airport with them on- made me feel like we were in a secret club. (This was when only onsite guests had them)

Mine is never on....stays in my pocket except for the few times I have to use it. My DD wears hers when we go to our first park.

We tried ours on when they came. Mine bugged me so I laid it flat under some heavy books for a few days. I trimmed the boys' and decorated all of ours. Mine was MUCH more comfortable once it had been flattened. Then, we put them on at home before we left for the airport. No problems with scanning, although I did check the children's wrists quite often. Once we arrived - first thing we did was purchase a package of sliders. Once the sliders were securely over the loose end, I stopped worrying about them falling off. The boys and I did not remove them until we got home. DH took his off at night; but if he forgot to put it back on, it wasn't my problem :-). That was just our experience. Have a fantastic time!!

I put mine on at MCO, after I got off the plane and made a pit stop but before I got to Magical Express - just needing the band scanned at ME was cool!
