Video of Pick a Pearl ceremony at the Mitsukoshi store in the Japan pavilion at Epcot: http://youtu.be/JqUdyK3E9nY

This was so much fun and very affordable at $17. A great price for a cool souvenir and a great memory. My fiancée got a 7.5mm pearl. I bought her a Cinderella carriage necklace to put the pearl in prior to our trip. It was pretty cheap on eBay (under $10). It's pretty solid and looks great.

Thanks for posting! The kids we're thinking about trying it this trip. Your video helped explain it to them :)

Did they set it in the carriage charm for you? Your videos are great btw!

Thanks for sharing! I've never done this but I wanted to on my trip this year for myself and a Christmas gift for my mother (and possible mother-in-law). I had never thought to look up a video of it! So helpful :)

We did this in november 2011 and we are still talking about it now! When the girl was measuring the pearl, she kept saying "keep going....keep going...." And that has become a staple phrase in our house! Loved it!

Lol. Those cast members certainly have a lot of energy :)

Thanks for sharing the video! We are thinking about doing this with our DD this trip.

This is the setting I bought off of ebay. http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_nkw=carriage+pearl+cage

It is pretty sturdy. I was afraid it would be cheap and break but so far so good. Note that we had a hard time fitting the pearl in. It was a 7.5mm pearl. Anything bigger than that probably won't fit. I'll post a pic of the final product when I find it.

want to try this the next time we go. However, my DS (12) has also expressed interest in this.

My question is, do they have any sort of settings that would be "guy" appropriate?

Just wondering....

My wife's was 7mm and blue and we made it into a ring.

My daughters was normal color and 7mm and we had it put into the carriage. The one from ebay looks like it would have been identical and cheaper to do.

This was in Epcot. I also saw that you could do this outside the Beachclub by the beach.

Here's a post from the old, very long Pick a Pearl thread here that shows some of the settings and what they cost. Don't know how accurate this still is, but it may help some:
