~~ They're leaving the nest, sew it's time for a trip - or two - or three...~~ D~'s bag ~9/22 ~~

You will definitely save money with an Annual Pass with three trips coming up. Let me crunch the numbers for you:
1 six day park hopper - $414.29 or 6 day park hopper with water parks - $441.98
times three trips Nov, spring and Oct) - $1,242.87 - or - with water parks times 3 = $1,325.94
Annual Pass - $654 - or - Premium pass for water parks - $779
savings with AP - $588.87 or with Premium Pass - $546.94
and there are resort discounts with the AP that will save you money. See, it pays for itself with just two visits. ;)

I hope you get some rest today and feel better soon.

LOL Sue - you crack me up! Thanks for doing all of the number crunching for me! That is awesome! I also think I might get a discount if I purchase them at SoG? I'll have to look into that too. Whether it's worth it for me to hop across the lake or not? I think it's a lot of extra running.

Thanks Sue... Still feel awful - with this would just go away already. Sigh.

Hi D~!

Joining in! It's been awhile since I've been here and everything is new! Without a trip to look forward to, it was sad to come here and read about all the fun everyone was having/going to have. I still have to go back and finish reading your last PTR and maybe your TR, although I might just skim through them to see the wonderful bags you created. I only have 2 days to do this though as we leave Saturday for a last minute trip to the World. Yes, you read that right - we leave in TWO DAYS! (Dang it, where is the dancing banana when you need him?) I cannot wait!!!

You have a lot of trips in your future and I can't wait to read about them! Off to catch up now!

Loree!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello there - it's been so long!!! How are you? Seriously - you leave from Canada tomorrow, for a spur of the moment trip... Are you flying or driving? How exciting! It's been a while since you've been to WDW hasn't it? This will be so much fun!!! Yay!!! Have a safe trip and enjoy yourselves... If you have a moment before you leave, I'd love to hear about your plans. ::Yes::

Yes, but you know me - I technically don't consider a "planned trip" a done deal until it's paid in full. :)

I may not always have time to reply, but I will definitely read along!

And 3 trips in one year? That might be how my 2016-2017 or all in 2017 looks! Ryan and I are saving up for a 10th anniversary trip with the boys, my mom and I have started talking about a girls trip for her 60th birthday, and my friend Kimmie and I are planning a girls trip for Christmas time in either 2016 or 2017.

Hi Megan!!! Glad to have you here!

All those trips sound awesome! So exciting! I've debated a few times about taking my Dad to Disney - I think he would love it! But I am not sure I could pull that off - and we'd likely hurt eachother after 2 days in a hotel room together. LOL If only we lived closer.

Hi! I'm following Mo's PTR and found yours as well!

If you do the November trip, we'll likely be there at the same time!

Hope you do get to do all the trips. I'm also looking forward to gaining sewing inspiration from you. I keep promising myself that I will learn to sew, but I keep putting it off. I do basic hand sewing, like replacing buttons and sewing up holes, but I'd like to try a machine.

Welcome!!! I am super happy you decided to tag along!

Oooh - I love doing Dismeets... Really LOVE them... So, please let me know if our trips overlap so we can meet up. :thumbsup2

I have a link for you then... Here you go - how I learned how to sew... Learning to sew Seriously - if I can do it, anyone can do it! ::yes::

Best of luck - and I am always happy to answer questions. :)

I made it over here. An annual pass will pay for itself.
I'm so jealous, three trips and I don't even have one planned.
Sorry you and V. aren't feeling well. I've had a stomach bug all week. Unfortunately, I still have to work. I used all my sick days until the end of next month.
Have a good day.
Liz

Welcome, but don't get too excited Liz... I never try to, until I am close to being paid off - until then, it's just not real.

That is awful - I sure hope you are feeling better soon. (((Hugs)))

Signing on for this PTR. Can't wait to hear about the Bday trip to Maine - I LOVE Maine. My family always vacations there & a few years back my aunt & uncle bought a house on the lake we all grew up going to when we were little. Best part is it is right across the lake where we used to all amp as kids (& when I say all I mean my mom & uncle would go with my grandparents & then my mom & dad started taking my sister & I there when we were little too!). It's a beautiful state!

WDW with friends is so much fun!

Welcome Heather! I am super happy to have you here and following along!

I am very excited to go to Maine - I adore Suzi and Mo so much and I really look forward to spending our birthdays together every year. And it looks so beautiful there! Josh never complains about me taking these trips - because at least it's somewhere other than Disney. Sigh. I can't wait to see it all though!

I am looking forward to the trip to WDW with Suzi and Mo and family - it will be a lot of fun - just different. And a little hard without the girls there.

If you are doing 3 trips you need to get the AP, of course that does have the possibility of making it 4 trips instead of 3.
I'm so jealous of all of your trips. We don't have any disney trips planned yet. and DH is talking about having our next WDW trip being resort only, no parks

Hahaha... That's what I am afraid of. I'd be finding reasons to fly down whenever I could - which wouldn't be such a bad thing.

ACK!!! That would be really hard... but I have heard of many people really enjoying that - there is so much to do! Connie (Oopsidaisy) did a trip a few years ago that was like this, and it looked like it was super awesome. She did a TR on it and everything.

I'm here too. Now to go back and read.

Yay!!! :woohoo: Welcome Shannon! Glad to have you here!

I'll be following along! It's going to be so fun reading this PTR as I'm in the process of planning my graduation trip as well! (Which will be taking place in a painstakingly slow 510 days...)

Welcome!!! This is awesome! Maybe you can help us out a little bit? I know Allison has her own ideas, but if she'd ever log into her account - she might enjoy planning even more? LOL

Yikes 510 days... That's a long wait! Do you know where you are staying yet?

:)

I'm here as well .. Looks like you are in for some fun and exciting trips (Maine included) can't wait to hear more about your plans..

Yay!!! Welcome! :woohoo: I am super happy to have you here and following along! And I can't wait to share all of my trips with you all! It promises to be a year full of adventures for sure!

Following along. How exciting! We went to MNSSHP a couple of years ago and loved it! By the time you take your trips I'll be a Florida resident so maybe our paths will cross. Feel better! This winter really stinks and I'm ready for it to be over!!!

Welcome!! Oooh - that would be awesome! I hope we can do a Dismeet! YOu know how much I love those! LOL

Thanks... I still feel awful... I wish it would go away.

Sounds like a good idea to reschedule your visit to your dad. I hope you can get some rest today and that you get well soon.

Yes, thankfully I was able to get ahold of him yesterday, and he agrees - we've both been sick this week, so it's probably better that I reschedule.

Thanks Lillian... I am going to try to rest a little bit today too.

I hope you are doing well?

I'm here, I'm here! Now, if only I can keep up! D has the fastest moving PTRs/TRs in the history of everything. By the next time I log in, I expect the thread to be full and her have started another one.

Hahaha... I've slowed down a lot in my old age. ::yes:: It's great to have you back though - I've missed you. Did I ever reply to your PM the other day? Hmmmm??? I better go check.

********************************************************************************************

I went back to bed yesterday morning and I did not work out. I am a little annoyed with myself for that - but my lungs are so raw that they hurt when I am breathing heavy... So, it's likely I won't be working out today either - unless I do something easy on myself?

I also worked for a little while - I managed to finish this week's bag... I love it!

Then I ran to town and picked up the girls - we ran some errands... Then home to make dinner.

Gus came over and hung out with Allison.

Both Josh and I went to bed early.

Today...

I"ll probably end up going back to bed again. :(

If I work out - it won't be until later.

I will work in my sewing room for a while... Hopefully finish up the zipper pull and wallet for this bag set.

Then I am taking the weekend off.

I was able to reschedule my visit to my Dad's... I feel badly about it - but he has been sick too, so it's probably best. I will go up there one day next week and take one of the girls with me.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and a wonderful weekend! :grouphug:

D~

Sorry you're still not feeling well. It's probably better that you rescheduled your visit with your dad. Along road trip when you're sick s no fun.
I'm feeling better today. I went back to bed for a while that went to work. My manager asked if I'd like to leave a 10 because two of us were scheduled til 11 and we both weren't needed.
Our big movie reset is coming up. If the mods drop today I might start on it if there's enough help. Lately we've been short handed due to vacations.
Have a good day and get better.
Liz

Sorry you are still feeling yucky. I hope you can get some rest over the weekend and feel better.

We are good here, too busy with work, but that is a "good" problem to have when you work for yourself. We have been trying to get away for some family fun time since Christmas and work kept getting in the way. We honestly have enough work that we shouldn't be going away next week, but DH and I are on the verge of burning out so we need this break. It has been awhile since we've been to WDW - 2012 was our last trip with BIL and his family. That was a bit of a nightmare trip. Even DS said he thinks we will be able to do more this time since we don't have to worry about stopping to see every bathroom at Disney. Kids and the things they remember!

We booked last weekend, so it has been a bit of a whirlwind making plans. We leave tomorrow morning after dropping Buffy off at the "doggy spa". We are driving again but we enjoy seeing the sights along the way so it really isn't a big deal. We will be arriving on Sunday and will get a hotel close to Disney for the night. We are staying at Pop Century for the week and we are excited to check it out and may wander over to AoA if we have time. We will pick up our Magic Bands first thing Monday morning and head directly to the park for the day. We plan on doing MK Monday, Epcot Tuesday, AK Wednesday, HS Thursday and MK Friday. We don't have any ADRs right now and will just wing it while we are there. I am hoping a few restaurants will open up closer to the dates as people let go of reservations they don't want. I think we got all the FP's that we wanted with the exception of Soarin, but we are going to go directly to it and hopefully the standby time won't be too bad. We will leave late Friday afternoon/early evening to head back home. We are all so looking forward to this trip!

I hope you are feeling better. I went back to the doctor and she just cant' believe I can't shake this sinus infection. I left with a pamphlet of prescriptions and if I am not better by Monday, she will send me to a specialist. :( Plus my other issue I have been dealing with is a sick dog. Which has cost me a small fortune. I think as of today we are on the right path on her getting better. As I type this she is out for the count in my chair. Which is a very good sign.
I am REALLY excited about our upcoming trip now. Some news was released of some things going on while we will be visiting. Needless to say ~ my sewing skills will definitely be put to the test.
Have a great weekend and I hope you feel better.

I also think I might get a discount if I purchase them at SoG? I'll have to look into that too.
I forgot that you could get the military discounts. That adds even more savings to the trip costs. ;) I don't know much about the military discounts but I do know that you can get big discounts on resort rooms, too. Once you move away from the limits of free dining, you have a whole world of discounted options to explore. ;)

Glad you are going to take it easy.

We are headed to Portland for Chelsea's first ever dance team competition. We decided to make a weekend out of it. Marissa is trying out a weekend at a Christian college house to see if she would like to live there next year. Closer to the college and give her more of a "college" experience.

There is a large movie complex next to the high school where the dance competition is being held, so we will be leaving as soon as the awards ceremony is done for her group and going to see Cinderella. Super excited about that.

We still don't know the details about the Seattle/Canada trip this July. For a super planner, that has me stressed to the max. We have tentative dates is all. No cost estimates. Trying to take deep breaths. First thing is to get passport cards. I have that money saved up, so we can try to accomplish that over Spring Break (March 23-27).

Have a great weekend!

I am looking forward to the trip to WDW with Suzi and Mo and family - it will be a lot of fun - just different. And a little hard without the girls there.

Well, if you miss the girls too much, you can sleep with Bradey one night. Then you will be thankful for your own bed!! Sound like a plan?? PS...he's a kicker!

Hahaha... I've slowed down a lot in my old age.

^^^^^ She lies.....she still moves just as fast as before. Just sayin....

Welcome!!! This is awesome! Maybe you can help us out a little bit? I know Allison has her own ideas, but if she'd ever log into her account - she might enjoy planning even more? LOL

Yikes 510 days... That's a long wait! Do you know where you are staying yet?

Pop Century...the most luxurious a soon-to-be poor college kid can get. My dad might upgrade us to POR as an early 18th birthday present, though, so there's hope! Anyway, I'll happily plan my trip right along with yours! Since I'm financially responsible for this trip I'm already keeping a pretty strict budget for it.

Sorry you haven't been feeling well the past couple of days! As a long-time asthma sufferer when volleyball season comes around in the fall I pretty much collapse after practice...so hopefully you'll be feeling 100% soon!

I can't believe it--totally late to this party but still got on page 3! Yay! I don't feel like such a slacker!:D

All these trips in the works are so exciting! I can't believe you're planning graduation trips....I know my girls will never get that age, right?

Can't wait to see how all the plans turn out!

Sorry you're still not feeling well. It's probably better that you rescheduled your visit with your dad. Along road trip when you're sick s no fun.

Yes, I am glad I rescheduled... I am just shocked at how long this is holding on... My lungs and throat are very raw yet. :( Every day I wake up expecting to be better and that just isn't happening. Sigh.

I am glad you went back to bed, and it was nice that your mgr. let you go home early - I hope it helped. SOunds like you have a busy schedule coming up.

You too! Thank you!

Sorry you are still feeling yucky. I hope you can get some rest over the weekend and feel better.

Thanks Ariana - I am hoping to.

Yay - soooo exciting! I am so glad you are getting some family time! You deserve it! It sounds like you have a great trip planned! I hope you'll stop back and tell me about it - I'd love to see pictures too! ::thumbsup2 Safe travels!

Oy... Bummer about the specialist - but hopefully this round of meds helps... And that's so sad - I hope your dog is doing better. I always feel so helpless when MM is sick - which thankfully isn't very often.

I am happy to hear that you are finally excited about this upcoming trip... And yay for trip sewing!!! There is nothing better!~

Thank you!

Yes, there is that. In the years past - the FD has been our best discount... But now that it's just Alli and I going - the % off of rooms may be better for us... We have started exploring several options, and I've put my TA on the task... I'll update below. But I am happy to tell you that Allison has started doing some research. :woohoo:

Glad you are going to take it easy.

I am trying... Sometimes it's very hard for me to rest though.

Have fun this weekend! Oooh and you get to see Cinderella - I've heard great things about this movie! I can't wait to see it myself!

I am sure that has to be very difficult - hopefully you will get some more concrete details soon.

I hope you have a great weekend too!

Well, if you miss the girls too much, you can sleep with Bradey one night. Then you will be thankful for your own bed!! Sound like a plan?? PS...he's a kicker!

^^^^^ She lies.....she still moves just as fast as before. Just sayin....

Hahaha... Nah - that's OK... I think Bradey needs his own bed. ::yes::

Hmph...

I know! She's so full of it.

Pfft...

Hope you feel better soon. I am hopeful the nicer weather will help.

Thanks Kathy - I really appreciate it!

This is going to be such an awesome trip! Are you paying for it yourself? IF so - major KUDOS to you!!! That is awesome! And I am happy to hear that you have a budget set up - that's really awesome! Good for you!

Thanks... every day I hope to wake up feeling better, and every day I wake up feeling worse. Sigh. I am really over it. LOL

I can't believe it--totally late to this party but still got on page 3! Yay! I don't feel like such a slacker!

All these trips in the works are so exciting! I can't believe you're planning graduation trips....I know my girls will never get that age, right?

Nah - never late to the party here! I promise! Welcome! So happy to have you here!

I know - I blinked my eyes and my girls grew up... It's so very hard - really it is. I love being a mother more than anything in the world - and I would start all over in a heartbeat. So, enjoy these moments... They are gone in a blink of an eye. :lovestruc

Thanks - me too!

**********************************************************************************************************

I did work in my sewing room for a little while yesterday... I finished the wallet that goes with my current order. I still have to do the zipper pull over the weekend - which will be done on my embroidery machine. I don't get to use that very often for orders - so I kind of look forward to it.

I also took a nap... This *whatever it is* is really wiping me out... I am so over it. I keep hoping to wake up feeling better every morning... Now I am back to a horrid sore throat and my lungs are still raw feeling. Sigh. And grrrr...

I picked the girls up from school... They are officially on spring break! :woohoo: We were just reminiscing yesterday about how we were leaving for our first girls trip to Disney 3 years ago... It's so bittersweet to see how much the girls have grown up since then.

We came home and Alli started planning her trip... I have a few things to update below... :woohoo:

And then... BIG family news.... We are adding on!!! This should come as absolutely NO surprise to anyone here... Ever since we took in those stray dogs last month, the girls and I have been wanting a 2nd dog... MM has been so lonely and sad. Last week, a friend of mine from HS posted that her dog (a female Golden, who happens to look exactly like MM) had a litter of puppies... The dad puppy is a pure bred Labrador... So, the puppies are half Lab and half Golden... After lots of puppy photos posted this last week - I finally caved and messaged her... She has had several offers, but she decided to offer us pick of the litter, because she has a soft spot for MM - and she sees on FB how much we love him - she knows one of her puppies will go to a good home. :lovestruc So... In a few weeks/ couple months (not sure how long puppies stay with their mommas?) - MM will be getting a new little brother... And I will be back into puppy training/potty training mode. We are all so very excited!!! :woohoo: Except maybe for Max... Because he will be getting neutered before the puppy comes - but shhhh - he doesn't know that yet. ::yes::

So... One of these lucky guys will be Mm's new little brother... Aren't they adorable?

11041802_10200356300228339_3285948466060613845_n.jpg

The above photo has a partial tennis ball in the picture - so you can see how tiny these guys still are.

So prepare yourself to be bombarded with puppy photos over the coming weeks.

As a side note, I have not seen this friend from HS since HS... So, I am very excited to see her again, meet her family - and now we will forever be "connected"... I just love the marvels of FB - it's allowed me to find people, who were once in my life, I thought I'd never see again. :lovestruc

So... Today... Resting is top priority. Sigh. I am so sick of resting!

I will be working on a zipper pull in my sewing room... And since I have one for my next order too - I might do both of them this weekend just to get them done.

And that's it... A nice lazy weekend ahead of me.

Disney plans update

So, as I mentioned above... Allison has started planning her trip...

First off - I gave her the budget yesterday of $2500 - including airfare. The reason I gave her a budget, is because a) this is the most I am willing to pay... and b) then she can decide what is more important to her. So, she can have a nice long trip if we stay at a Value resort... Or she can have a short trip if we stay at a Mod... Totally up to her.

She came up with a list of priorities...

At the tippy top of her list... A day with Harry Potter... Yes, folks - we will be deviating from Disney. So, Ariana - I will be stalking the remainder of your US/IOA TR. ::yes::

Second on her list... She wants a day at DTD and Cirque...

We are looking into several resort options... POP, our beloved FQ and even SoG... We want the most bang for our buck with the best resort we can get for our $$.

There are several benefits to staying at SoG... And I go through this every time I plan a trip... It's a fantastic value, but the value doesn't outweigh the inconvenience of the resort - and since we have been spoiled by Disney resorts - it's going to be difficult to swtich back. So, we will see... In the end it's Allison's decision. But the fact that we won't be able to make our FP+ reservations until 30 days out, their lack of decent restaurants on site, no ME, and their less-than-convenient bus schedule... Then on the opposite side of the spectrum - they have a nicely redone pool/water slide, the rooms are large and the resort is in the "Deluxe" category, and they have a super inexpensive shuttle service to US/IOA... Well... We'll have to see.

Since this trip will likely take place in March of 2016, we will not be doing any water parks this trip. Which is kind-of a bummer, as we have grown to love the water parks... And us hearty Minnesotans could probably brave the water parks that time of year... but...

I've put my TA on the task of number crunching and deal finding. We likely won't book this trip until I get back from visiting Suzi and Mo in Maine. So, we have a few months to get this part ironed out.

I love Disney planning - and I love seeing Alli so excited! It should be a FUN trip with lots of new things to explore!

******************************************************************************************************

I hope all of you have a marvelous weekend! Prayers and Pixie Dust to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

awww, puppies......so stinking cute!!! can't wait to see who comes home with you!

sorry you're not feeling well. hope you're better soon!

sounds like Allison has lots of things to think about on the planning front.

The puppies are so cute. I wish I could have one but I work weird hours so it wouldn't be fair to the dog. It'd be home alone too much.
I'm feeling much better. Thanks for asking. i hope you can finally start to feel better.
I've stayed at POP several times and liked it. It's the nicest of the values. Alli will have fun planning her trip. I made the mistake of letting mu daughter plan a trip and since then she's planned every one.
I have to work late again today. We're planning on starting the movie reset if it's quiet. It's a rainny day so with our luck it'll be busy.
Tomorrow my daughter and I are planning on driving down to the outlets south of us. It's a start shot from the end of my street but it takes about 30 minutes to get there.
Enough your weekend.
Liz

No way...
there is so much draw dropping information here today!!
First PUPPY!!! I'm so excited for you!!!
Puppy should be 8 weeks at the earliest to be away from mom. Plus first set of shots before going to new home. I cannot wait for puppy updates!!! Names?!?!

Second US?!?!? Really!!! This is exciting stuff!!! Cannot wait to see what other fun things she is going to plan for you!
good for her!!!!

I love Harry Potter. It was one of my obsessions for years. I always have a HP book on my nightstand to read before falling asleep. ;) I can see why Allison would like to go there. I've debated that, too.

I saw La Numba at Cirque du Solei last March. It is a fun diversion. Our seats were too close to the stage, which made it hard to take in the whole show at once. I think the middle of the theater would have been better.

We've stayed at SoG back in the old days when it was the Disney Golf resort - or whatever it was called. One nice thing about it was that you can walk to the Polynesian from there. It made it convenient to get to the resort for food or the monorail for parks.

Oh my...those puppies are adorable. I so want a puppy, but not knowing where we are moving and if they'll allow dogs, we are holding off. Lucky MM getting a little brother.

I hope you get your sewing done and you are feeling 100% soon.

Have you thought of looking into renting a studio at DVC? It can often be cheaper than a moderate and if you get an AP, you could get a TIW card which would allow you to save 20% on your meals or you could still add the dining plan.

awww those puppies are so cute do you have a name for him yet??
