Day 8, going home
We awaken at 7AM again and take showers and finish up packing our stuff. We head down to the food court for breakfast and let Brenden play a little bit in Andy's room. Our flight is at 12:30pm and we leave for the airport at 10:15am.
Returning the car was no problem at all and we head up to the United counter. There is a huge line and they are announcing that the Chicago flight at 12:30pm is canceled due to weather. Oh well, such is winter! We are in line for a good 45 minutes and get to the counter. The nice man behind the counter puts us on the next flight which is at 4:55pm. I ask if he can get us seats together and he tells me that we have great seats, in first class!! I thank him profusely and we head off to explore the airport for the next 5 hours. Thankfully Brenden takes a 2 hour nap and the flight leaves on time. First class was great, but the flight was bumpy do to the bad weather the entire way. The flight attendants play with Brenden and help to keep him occupied in his seat. It was a really nice flight.
We land 20 minutes early and it is only 15 degrees!!! Wow it sure is a change from 85 all week!
Dad is waiting for us and Brenden tells him all about the trip on the way home.

Since this was Brenden's first trip to Disney, we took it really slow. We have all been there many times before so we didn't feel like we had to see everything. Brenden really enjoyed the Fantasyland rides as well as most of the stuff in Epcot.
I will not return to Islands of Adventure. It didn't feel that it was worth the money. Even without Brenden, I really don't like to get wet all that much and almost every ride there is a water ride. Next time we will do Sea World or Universal Studios.
We really enjoyed Jellyrolls and highly recommend that club. The Illuminations cruise was a highlight of the trip along with the breakfast with Donald Duck.
I just got our pictures back and they turned out great. We made some special memories and are planning on returning in 2 years.

Jeanine, Thank you so much for the great trip report. You really put a lot of time and effort into it. It sounds like you had a great time.

Wow, lucky you getting bumped up to first class.

It sounds like Brenden had a wonderful first trip, Jeanine. :)

Thanks you so much for taking the time to share it with us.

Sounds like you had a great time. Having been to WDW with a little person, I agree that you have to slow things down. After all, there's always the next time, right. Thanks for sharing your report with us.
