Day 3 December 11, 2000

Brenden decides to sleep in today… he doesn't wake up until 7AM. We again hit the food court for breakfast and then head over to the bus stop. Once again the Epcot bus comes right away and we are at Epcot in no time at all.
Walking through the gates the first thing I notice is the ugly monuments of marble blocking the walkway. I am sorry, but these leave a legacy things are not attractive and take away from the park. Brenden is in awe of the "Big Golf Ball", and wants to ride inside it. Sean and Jeanine have other plans though. We head directly over to test-track and find that the wait is 5 minutes in Stand-by. We hop in line and go directly into the briefing room. The doors open, but noone is moving, Ugh-Oh the ride is broke. The Cm's tell us that it will be back up in running in no time and within 5 minutes it was moving again. I loved this ride and Sean enjoyed it also!
We then head over to the Land Pavilion as this is a favorite of Diane's. We ride the boat and go to see Food Rocks. Brenden is not whining as much getting on the rides. I think he is actually starting to enjoy himself after the rocky start with Barnstormers. We then head over to the countries and stop off in a temporary tent that is filled with Christmas stuff. Mom spends too much time looking around, but Sean entertains Brenden by looking at all the moving characters.
Our first stop is Canada and the Canadian Santa comes out to tell his tale. He is very funny and we all enjoy his story. I want to see the Millennium village, but we should of skipped it. The only fun part was watching Brenden try to golf in Scotland. The Cm's got such a kick out of him.
We catch a street show in the United Kingdom and then head straight to America because it is almost lunchtime and Brenden wants chicken nuggets. Santa and Mrs. Claus are outside of America and too my amazement, Brenden wants to go see Santa. He goes right up to him, climbs on his lap and tells him that he wants a carwash for Christmas. We get some great pictures with the two of them and head over for lunch. We get a nice table inside right by the fountain and eat our burgers and chicken. We decide to see the show in America and Brenden falls asleep on my lap. He wakes right up as soon as the show is over and is all full of energy. I had planned on going back to the room to take a snooze, but since he was really awake, we decided to see how far we can get.
Next stop is Germany and mom and I want to look through the shops. Sean wants a beer and a pretzel and Brenden wants to stay with Daddy. We spend a good 30 minutes looking at the beautiful dolls and hummels and go to find Sean and Brenden sitting on a bench still eating a HUGE pretzel. Just then the musical trio comes out to entertain us. Brenden decides to sit on the ground near some other kids and entertains the entire audience by dancing to all the polkas! It was hysterical and luckily I caught it on video. Great blackmail for later in his life!
After Germany we catch the TON near China and I love this parade also. The music is so moving and I loved the giant drummers. Brenden also liked this.
It is near 5pm now and we decide to head over to Crossroads for dinner. This takes a lot longer than I hoped for. We had to walk to the bus, get back to the All Stars, get our car and get to Chevy's for Mexican. We finally sat down for dinner about 6:30pm. We have an Illuminations cruise tonight and have to be at the Yacht Club Boat house at 8:45pm. It was not problem and we ended up with plenty of time to spare after dinner.
We drive to the Beach Club , I don’t know why because we have to be at the Yacht Clubt. We valet park at the Beach Club and have to walk down to the Yacht Club. It was a nice evening though and it was nice to see Stormalong Bay. I had never seen these two resorts close up and they are really beautiful.
I had himmed and hawed about doing an Illuminations cruise for a couple of months. I really wanted to, but didn't want to spend the $100 some dollars for it. I read on the Theme Parks board about the RADP having there big meets the weekend that we were there and that they had reserved the Illumination cruises for Monday night They were selling the seats for $18 a person. I decide check it out and went ahead booked our spots. Anyways we find our group and get on our pontoon boat. Our cruise captain Rick was a really nice guy and took us around to the Swan and Dolphin. Suddenly an alarm sounds on the boat! Rick looks very scared and my mom looks even more scared! He shuts off the engine and looks over the back. He tells us that there was probably something stuck in the propellor and that it looked fine now.
Off we go and we get about half way back to the Yacht Club and the alarm sounds again! He really doesn't know what to do at this point. Off and on again with the engine and the alarm turns off. This happens a few more times and he decides to go straight to Epcot and he would figure out what to do from then.
We dock under the Bridge between two boats and the captains decide that one of them will drop off their passengers and then come back for us. The show was fabulous from the boats and we all decide that it was well worth the money. Brenden sleeps through the entire show!
We sit under the bridge at the end waiting for a ride back and it was such a beautiful night that no one minded. We transfer to another pontoon boat that returns for us and get back to the boat house around 10:15pm. We get back to our room by 10:30 and fall right to sleep. Tomorrow is MGM Studios.

I think you were smart to go straight to Test Track.

You really had an interesting Illuminations cruise didn't you? I'm sure Illuminations was beautiful.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. :)
