Day 2 December 10, 2000
Brenden wakes us all up at the very early hour of 6AM! I can't believe it, I thought he might sleep a little later since we are now an hour ahead of home. Silly me, this is Disneyworld, of course he is up early!
We all shower and head over to the food court for breakfast. My goodness it sure is crowded in there in the mornings!! We find a table and eat our bagels and cereal. Brenden eats very little, but that is not unusual. Of course I am worried that he will starve to death!
We head over to the bus stop and the MK bus comes within minutes. We have a non-stop trip and are at MK in less than 15 minutes. I was very surprised that the busses go all the way to the parks now. I had expected them to stop at the TTC first.
We go through the gates and are finally on Main Street USA. Brenden is just looking around in wonder from his stroller and when we round the turn from the tree, he yells " The CASTLE" WOW!! It was great!! I had planned on going straight to Fantasyland for the rope drop, but my mom wants Brenden's silhouette done. The lady cuts out his profile in no time and we are off again. We go under the castle and Brenden has to ride Dumbo first. Sean and Brenden head to the line and I find a good spot to video from.
They are done in under 10 minutes and we head over to Pooh. This is a really cute ride, but it was very short. Coming off of the Pooh ride, we spot Mickey and Minnie signing autographs. I gingerly ask Brenden if he would like to go meet Mickey and he replies, "Okay". Not very enthusiastic, but thatâÂÂs okay, He is a little bit of a chicken. He does great though and gives them hugs and gets their autograph while mom shoots pictures and dad shoots video.
We then head over to Toontown since Brenden has to ride Goofy's rollercoaster. He goes with dad while mom and I sit on a bench. Oh-No, he comes off the ride with a frown on his face. He says it was scary and doesn't want to ride anything anymore. This will not do!! I soothe him and tell him it's over now and we won't go on it again. My mom comes through with a bottle of water and Brenden is somewhat happy again.
We head over to Tomorowland and there is already a 30 minute wait for Buzz, so we decide to skip it and head over to Pirates. Brenden doesn't want to ride, so mom stays with him while Sean and I go. It is really dark in there, I never really noticed before and we both agree that Brenden would probably have been scared.
After that we head back to the hotel for lunch and naps. About 3:30 pm we head back to MK for the Main street electric parade. Brenden wants to go on Dumbo again, but it is broken. We ride ItâÂÂs a small world, and the carousel hoping for Dumbo to fly again, but he is still broke. We decide to head over to Main Street and see how things are going over there. It is barely after 5pm and the parade is at 6:15pm. People are already finding spots on the curb, so we decide to join them. We take turns going for walks with Brenden to look at the ducks and we get some hot-dogs from Casey's. They were really good!!
Finally after sitting for an hour, the parade starts. I really enjoy this parade and it is the first time I have seen it in it's entirety. I video the whole time while Brenden watches in amazement. We wait for Tinkerbell to fly and to see the fireworks. Brenden is scared of the booms and we decide to head out of the park before the end of the show. We are the third party to board the Movies bus and are glad because by the time the bus left it was standing room only.
We get back to the room and crash. Tomorrow is EPCOT and the Illuminations cruise.
