Check-in: No, we didn't use the online check in. The IPO said there's really no point when staying club level. Our room was pre-assigned and ready for us when we checked in at noon.

Lissiesmum - we got a towel elephant & bday cake at AKL. Today at Poly, DD got a towel hula girl. It's our first morning, so that's
pretty good.

Weather is perfect. Epcot was lots of fun. We will check out the MK next.

Haven't met anyone from the boards yet.

Tinkerbellie -- good job with the iPhone. It took me a while to get use to it. There's 3G service in most of the lines, so that's when I was writing.

Thank you to all of you for the kind wishes. We are really enjoying ourselves. I know it will be years before we can return, so I'm making the most of it.

I coworker of mine returned yesterday and said that the Kim Possible attraction was awesome. Did you have a chance to do that? I'm glad you are having a good time!

Yes!!! We did the mission in France today right before our lunch and it was really fun. People were watching us and then trying to activate the clues, which of course they couldn't. We are hoping to do more. Unfortunately it closes early, even on EMH nights, or we'd spend an evening just playing with it!

The DIS (or my connection crapped out and I lost my super long post I tried to make here! Just wanted to say the the parks have been good, and that they really clear out in the afternoons since everyone seems to go back to their resorts for a swim.

They also clear out after the fireworks as most folks take their overtired kids back "home". We did EMH at MK last night and walked onto everything. It was cool - just like after Labor Day!

Hi mmmears, kaffinito, and anyone else who's currently experiencing the magic!!! Did anyone use the online checkin, and if so, did you get what you want/have any stories to share about the experience? Thanks!!

Online check in was ok. There was only one person working the desk and a fellow in front of me who had a ton of questions. None of my requests were met, but the nice CM (Who showed up after 10 minutes of me waiting) found me a room that was ready in Tokelau with a great view. I'd do it again since my packet was ready right away, and if I had been happy with my placement I could have just walked away after just a few minutes.

I'm still not sure if it will be ready or not. I've received some conflicting info. If it's not then Samoa, Tokelau or Niue are really good options too! Samoa has a lot of little ones playing in the grass in front of the patios (both sides) but Niue is more heavily landscaped. Most people with little ones are clustering at the zero entry end of the Volcano pool. The quiet pool is a lot deeper.

The surprise took a long time to sink in. I even pasted a Poly logo on their first day cards, and they still didn't get it. I had to explain it to them - slowly and with a lot of detail before they comprehended it. Then they both went bananas! Now they both say that the Poly has replaced POR as number one resort on their lists.

Of course it's adding to the torture that my trip is still a year away! arghhhh!

Don't fret, that year will be over before you know it! I waited 36 years to get to the Poly... Should have done this a lot sooner. Although I must admit, it was really well worth the wait. I didn't have any letdown when my fantasy became reality, only a sort of blissed out glee. I hope your year goes back very fast for you!

Thanks. I'm sure it will. Right now my biggest stress is that my DH isn't guaranteed the time off. We're pretty tied to the dates we've picked because of my stepdaughter's college schedule/summer job, but it's supposed to be a planned outage at the nuclear plant where my DH works, which usually means "all hands on deck" in the control room (to get the work done ASAP). We're hoping for a lot of pixie dust on the vacation approval!

So cool that your kids loved the surprise so much!
And great to hear that the parks haven't been as bad as all of the horror stories from last week!
