Sunday Dec. 3

This was planed as one of our busiest days. The plan was to hit Animal Kingdom in the morning and MGM in the afternoon.

We get up at 6:00 and are out the door by 7:15. We make it to the Animal Kindom by 7:30. We are some of the first people by the turnstiles. I enjoyed how they open this park. They had some of the characters come out and do a little performace. I was also impressed with the Christmas decorations. They were different, but nice. Some of them had butterfiles and other nature elements that you would expect.

Since my son is so young, I felt there would not be much for us to do here. That's why we were planing on staying such a short amount of time here. Looking back we should have planned to be here more. When we asked Alex at the end of the trip what he liked most, one of his responses was the animals. So for our next trip (hopefully in 2 years) we spend more time and see everyting we missed.

Once the park opened we went to ride on the Kilimanjaro Safaris. We walked right on. Many animals were out which was nice. The only drawback was that it was really cold!! I had a shortsleve shirt on and it was freezing! So after this ride our main objectives were to warm up and get some breakfast. We ended up at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery. We had excellent cinnamon rolls. :) This is about when I had a pet peve surface. Why does Disney use powdered soap in the restrooms? It is so hard to get any out of the dispenser, plus you don't get any lather. What ever this stuff is, it really dried my hands out.

The next objective was to find Alex a sweatshirt with a hood. We hound what we were looking for amd headed to the Wildlife Express. Alex loves trains and he enjoyed this trip. We made the treck to the conservation station and back. By now it was tine to leave to head over to the studios.

Since we had a few minutes before our PS time we road the Great Movie Ride. This was a little too intense for Alex, especialy during the Alien part.

We had 11:00 PS for the Sci-Fi Dine in. We made it over with time to spare. We were seated with in 5 minutes. Our service was a little lacking and to make up for it our server gave our son a Sci-Fi Dine In frisbee. I thought it was a nice gesture. They seemed a little short staffed to me. The food was very good.

By now it seemed to be getting even colder out so we all decided to get sweatshirts. There were a few people in shorts and t-shirts who looked mighty cold.

My Mom watched Alex while DH and I rode Tower of Terror using a fastpass. I think fastpass is the best improvement at Disney since our last trip in 95. We next saw the Voyage of the Liitle Mermaid and Muppet Vision 3-D. Alex slept through Voyage of the Liitle Mermaid but enjoyed the Muppet 3-D. Next DH and I road Rockin Roller Coaster using fastpass. We then did the backlot tour. We were on the last tour of the day due to the Osbourne Lights. We were able to see some of the lights on the tour which was nice.

We then headed over early to the Prime Time Cafe. We had PS for 6:00. I had hoped to maybe get in early, but it took us until 6:20 to get seated. The place was packed so the four of us ended up on the small loveseat across from the counter you check into at. By this time we were so tired and cold we didn't enjoy the experience as much as we would have normaly. Our waiter was "Dad" and was very nice and repremanded me for my elbows on the table. Our experince was also deminshed due to two differnt famillies with very loud crying children. The parents did nothing and just let them cry for about 30 min. I had the chicken and it was delicious! My Mom had the Uncle Giovanni's Pasta and hated it. She did not like any of the meals the whole trip.
Our original plan had been to stay and see the Osbourne Lights. This was one of the main things I was looking forward to seeing. But by this time we were all cranky, tired and cold. We agreed to head back to the Beach Club and go to sleep.

I never did make it back to see the lights. Hopefully they will still be there if we go again sometime at Christmas.

Next up, Part 3 - Magic Kingdom and EPCOT

Another great day.... Prime Time is one of my favorite resturants.

I'm sorry you missed the Osborne lights and didn't get to see more of AK. :( At least it's a good excuse for another trip, right? :D

Off to read day 3. :D

Blue Skies, Thanks for the great report. Sorry to hear you did not get to see the Osbourne Lights, Disney does have a way of making us very tired, especially when were cold. Hope you get to see the lights on your next trip.
