Hey all! Tangled is my favorite movie, and I really want to go to the (too small) Tangled area in MK at night for a couple pictures. But, fireworks start at 9:15 and ill be getting my spot for that early. Am I able to sneak back to the Tangled area immediately after fireworks do you think? Also, a few years ago I got a Photopass photo holding a lantern, are they currently doing that? Thank you all!

Two things about Magic Kingdom anger me... (1) How "Tangled", the best movie with the best princess of all time gets a *BATHROOM*!?!?!?! (2) How "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" wasn't made as a water ride...

I got that lantern photo years back as well, it's beautiful. I recently was able to rope drop (8 AM opening so it was EARLY) and got some pictures of my daughter around the area (hiding the "bathroom" looking parts!) that were just amazing.

If fireworks start right at closing, probably not. If the park doesn’t close right away, maybe, depending on how much later closing is after fireworks are over.

As @CarolynFH shared, it will depend on what time the park closes compared to what time Happily Ever After is shown. If it's shown at closing you won't be able to go back afterwards. If the park is open after HEA then you will be able to for sure!

We love that area too. We re-find all the hidden friends of Pascal every trip - cause we forget where they are. I too would love to know if anyone’s gotten the lantern pictures recently?

If you’re not committed to watching HEA from in front of the Castle, watching it from the Tangled area is an amazing experience. Obviously you don’t get the projections, but it really feels like you’re experiencing the lantern festival and makes for some unbelievable photos.

This is a fabulous tip! Thanks! We love Rapunzel as well. We’ve watched from Dumbo before which was awesome too.

I don’t know if they are doing the picture but I have made it from in front of the castle for fireworks to that area. We walked with purpose but made it in plenty of time.

You can for sure walk there after the fireworks and take a photo with your own phone/camera. There will be plenty of guests behind the castle because they were eating, waiting in line for a ride instead of fireworks etc. If fireworks are happening at or after park close, however, there will most likely not be a photopass photographer there to take the lantern magic shot.

I'm so glad to know other people love Tangled. It's easily my favorite Disney movie. I'm in the middle of watching the first season of the series and I'm quite impressed by it. The story seems like such a good fit for Magic Kingdom, I just wonder why they didn't incorporate more of it. Heck, I'll pay someone at the park to braid my hair and stick flowers in it !

Yes!!! I am still irritated about the Tangled bathrooms. They look cool but Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder deserve better.

I’m holding off on even planning my bucket list dream trip to DisneySea till their tangled ride opens lol

And if there is, there will be another CM standing at what was the end of the line at park close. So if fireworks are at/after park close, you'd be shut out of that one anyway.

That said, I have not heard that they started redoing that shot yet. Probably too CM-intensive to have someone there wiping it off between every guest.

Every time I walk through that area and I hear the music from the kingdom dance, I have an irresistible urge to grab the hand of a stranger and pull them into the middle area and start dancing. And then another... and another. See if we can get a crowd going.

Somehow I keep having this feeling it would not work as well in reality as it does in my head. (I say as I am being escorted out of the park by security). Besides, I still can't get the moves down right.

I would totally join in if someone did that! I have a video of my boyfriend dancing in our living room during that scene and it melts my heart. Just bought cute matching tangled inspired shirts for our trip in 3 weeks!!!

Lantern photo isnt happening currently because of Covid.
