Southwest - Long Delay

Wow... We've been delayed due to a flight crew timing thing a few times, I never even thought to ask about compensation.... once it was quite a few hours plus a plane change too! next time I will at least ask since it can't hurt to try.... we were never offered anything either..... oh well we just figured it's part of flying, we can't control every detail so we just don't worry too much unless we'll miss a connection

Had a 4 hour delay in Denver once. The plane was coming in from Mexico and the gate agent could see it across the tarmac at the international terminal, so it was on time. Nobody knew what was taking so long but who knows? Maybe they found drugs hidden in the hold, maybe a critter from Mexico got into the plane and had to be removed, maybe they had to wait for CBP to inspect something? Anyway we sat for a very long time for what was a 55 minute connection. Nothing was offered by the airline an except apology.
