Something nice happened...

on our VWL family vacation over Halloween week, and I just didn't mention it because I forgot.

It was Halloween's eve, we were trick or treating with the DGC, and family at DTD, and it began to pour! DDiL was holding the 2 year old, everyone was getting wet, and a CM showed up with a huge umbrella, and escorted DDiL across DTD to a "last place" to trick or treat! By the time we understood what had happened the CM was gone...

So, it wasn't magic ...but DDiL was just a bit less soggy than the rest of us...it was a nice gesture.

We too were at DTD that night getting soaked so I know how wonderful that sweet gesture was. Little things really can mean alot.

Bobbi...thanks for sharing the story. You're right...it's the little things that can mean a lot. You weren't "expecting" anyone to help out but it happened anyway. Sounds magical to me!

We had an early morning ressie at Ohona's, 7;30, for breakfast, we went to the bus station to catch a bus to the T&TC and to our amazement there were no buses going that way, We needed to get to the Poly, Guess I should mention we were staying at our beloved Lodge VWL, the boats were not running yet, Thought we would have to catch a taxi(s) (13 of us) when the Bus pulled up going between FT Wildreness & the lodge, we asked the driver how to get to the Poly, he said "Simple, hop on" and he took our party of 13 to the Poly! needless to say he was rewarded for his gesture, He didn't even want to accept the tip, but we insistead. That was our first morning. really made our trip, the entire stay was magical!

Last year, sort of the same thing happened, but we were going to the GF for dinner, and we asked the bus driver what was the best way to do it, and he said Hop Aboard! Now I'm so glad to know that even with the dispatch system for busses, the drivers have the discretion to do the good deed! I'm glad for you!!!

We had a similar nice experience at VWL last Dec. We had taken the Wilderness Lodge tour and it had ran longer than advertised (and we even left before he was done), and we had planned on taking the bus to MK and then the monorail or boat to Poly for breakfast. We realized we were running late and we were unlikely to make it using the buses. So we went up to the entrance and asked a valet to call us a taxi because we were running late for our ADR at Poly. He instead said he could run us over and he grabbed a van and gave us a lift to the Poly and we were on time for our ADR. Nice way to end the trip.
