Should I request "Medical Necessity?"

My oldest daughter and I both get migraines, sometimes incapacitating, from odor exposure (among other triggers). This includes cigarette smoke, but even worse are chemical odors including sprays used to mask bad odors. It's almost guaranteed that at least one of us would have a migraine every day in such a setting.

We already take preventative meds. We could pop Imitrex every day but that has its problems, too.

We always request NS without medical need and have always gotten NS -- fortunately.

Would this situation justify a "NS with medical necessity" request? (No asthma and Imitrex works well enough we wouldn't need to go to an ER.)

I would say yes! You don't want to feel sick during your vacation, and your reaction to being around smoke sounds like you would end up feeling quite uncomfortable (and even ill) during your trip. I wouldn't take the chance with the kind of reactions to smoke you just described.

I am allergic to tobacco - any type.

the few times I have a problem - someone on another balcony smoking in a non-smoking section - I just immediately go inside and turn on the air conditioner.

I will get an bronchial asthma - which is not fun.

Disney is generally very quick about fixing the problem if it becomes one.

I think it is on my records now.
