How did you get the 40% off code? Are 2009 DVD planners available yet? I am wanting to order another DVD for planning. Also, if I could get a 40% off code, perhaps that would be a better deal than hopefully holding out for free dining? We also have a room-only ressie right now for Sept 1-12, 2009 at AKL club level. I hope some discount will come out to help us save a bit of money. With airline fees going up and traveling from Canada (Alberta), it will be a very expensive vacation without a discount of some sort!

I received a postcard around January if I remember correctly, I thought it was from my cabel company I almost threw it away! I do remember that the postcard only mentioned value but when I called it was for mod, and deluxe as well.We booked a myw package with dining at the Poly. When free dining came out I tried but the 40% was a better deal for us and you can not apply 2 discounts to the same reservation. As for the 2009 dvd I have no idea but you can ask disney or search the boards I am sure that it is covered somewhere! Keep our fingers crossed for a code! AKL seemd so nice, for now I think that we will stick to MK resorts since ds is still small.

Dh and I were talking last night and I am getting very excited for next year! We decided on a savings plan and I hope to get a rough estimate when the rates come out in August. I was thi9nking that we can start a planning club/thread after the rates come out, if you all would want to. Does anyone know if you can use a AAA + code discount? I know that you can not combine wdw codes but I was not sure about AAA since it is another company. 
I'd like to join the code watch too. I think I'm going Sept 25-Oct 10. I have really nailed down the dates yet. I'd like to avoid the free dining dates if it is offered again this year. I thought I'd wait until January or February to order the planning video to see if that gets me a PIN. My last trip was September of '02 so it's been a long time coming.

No you can't do both, for us the 40% off the room at the poly was a better deal than free dining, also we had a mk view room booked and there was not a mk view with the free dining available so we would have paid more and had a garden view. Who knows what will be by 2009, I would go ahead and book with a code if you have one, then switch to free dining, if and when it comes out, and if it winds up cheaper for your trip, whew
that was a mouthful! Did I make sense?

I'll join too! I'm hoping to talk my DH into going in September 2009. We were supposed to go this September but we lost our flight due to MidWest going bankrupt. We are still trying to find a flight thats not going to cost us a ton more than what we already paid but right now the cheapest is $500 more per ticket.

Do the discount codes comes out before the free dining comes out? Does anyone know? (Now I know free dining is not a definate.... But usually every Sept offers something...) Even a discount code would be nice.....

Don't worry, as long as you check in to the disboards you will hear about free dining if offered. You will be one of the first to call disney to change your reservation to free dining, again "if offered". It won't be a problem at Pop. And, yes you can wait to add dining until later. I think I'd wait till they announce free dining (I'd guess early to mid April for announcement if they do it the same as they have in previous years). And if for some reason there is no free dining in 09 you can add it later.
You can still make your ADR's though as soon as permitted whether or not you have dining makes no difference. When you add free or paid dining, you just tell disney you already have your reservations.

I am in! I also had 40% off last november. I received it via e-mail. we stayed at AKL. It was amazing- just a little far from MK.
