We're going to San Diego with the kids (DS6 and DD4), my mom and my brother (whos 20). End of July/beginning of August.

Itinerary so far:
SeaWorld 1-2 days
Zoo 1 day
beach: surfing for DH & my brother, wide sandy beaches for the kids, me & Grandma (which one??) 1-2 days
possibly Legoland (worth it?) 1 day

We'll arrive Sunday evening and leave Fri/Sat morning, so almost a full week.

We either need two separate hotel rooms or one room that has two separate sleeping areas, with at the very least two double beds, but it'd be nice to have some bunks beds also for the kiddos. Kitchenette would be nice, but not necessary. Condos are a possibility as well. We're looking for as close to $100 a night as humanly possible and centrally located or near the beach. :D (small wish, eh?)

Anyone have any recs? Thanks!!! :D

I found good rates at the Residence Inn suites in La Jolla. The room is townhouse style and has a loft upstairs with a queen and separate bathroom, a king bedroom downstairs and a pull out queen sofa in the living room.

I think I'm paying around $160/night.

The reviews on trip advisor sound pretty good. People do mention that it is a bit dated though.

You can check innsuites.com. They offer a pretty cheap rate as well as free breakfast. However it is only a 3 star hotel. If you want to go somewhere a bit more upscale you can try townandcountry.com which is located in the Hotel Circle in San Diego.

I have found great deals before here:
http://hotels.travelzoo.com/california-hotels/

Also try www.kayak.com They will show you the cheapest rates found on the internet.

Unfortunately San Diego has expensive lodging-especially during the summer.

I also recently discovered the Go San Diego Card. If you have not seen it- they have some great discounts. You can get it cheap at Costco.com

You can do any of the activities during the three days. They only sell 3 day cards at Costco.com, but you can go to http://www.gosandiegocard.com/ and they have more days.
