RUMORED New Disney Dining Plan Plus!! (DDP+)

I have a feeling when pricing comes out for this it will be so close to DDP pricing a ton will upgrade. I would bet less than $20 for adults extra and less than $10 for kids. I have a feeling in the same way they convinced us we needed alcoholic beverages with our meals we'll be convinced we need appetizers or sit down meals.

I cancelled the middle tier. I am betting this will be closer to deluxe pricing.

My first reaction to this is excitement because we are 2 TS a day people. It will come down to price.

As I think about it more, I'm struggling to figure out the benefit for Disney. The price has to fall between the $78 DDP and $119 DxDP daily price and really should be closer to the DDP price since there is no note of it including appetizer and the only difference is you can have a 2nd TS instead of a QS. Anything over $90 is too high. And is it really worth the complexity of adding another dining plan tier with such a minor difference to the tier just below it?

Nothing official released, including nothing on the TA site, so I'm officially in the "believe it when I see it" camp. I'm definitely intrigued though!

I expect the price to be $110-$118...and for DxDP to have a big price increase, too...not that I'm cynical or anything...but again, Disney does tend to like to push the limits for folks to pay...

This does sound like a great middle tier. Just what I would like. But I too have a feeling it might be what, a whole ten bucks less than the DxDDP?

my educated guess is $15 increase — about $95 for adults.
could be $20, taking it to $99.

at $20.... it’s basically a break even increase, but depends on the person. A typical TS ala carte meal runs about $20 more than a CS on average, especially since some of those uses will be breakfast. (Can’t do 2 dinners in 1 night. So second credit is breakfast or lunch). And have to think on average, people aren’t going to get the most expensive entrees twice per day (2 steaks per day, every day?)

so a $15 price increase would present people with a bit more savings, if they want to do more TS or signature.
A $20 increase would be more break even —— but would be big savings for those who do A LOT of buffets.

personally, I find this plan a bit restricting though it will depend on pricing.

for a 5 day trip...
If you want almost all QS meals... QSDP.
If you want 5 TS and 5QS, DDP
And now, DDP+ If you want 10 TS meals during that trip.
But if you want 7 TS and 3 QS? You like sit down meals but not 2 per day every day...

this DDP+ allows it, but probably turns into a major economic waste, unless they actually price this plan cheaply.

what I’d like to see:
No distinction between TS and CS credits:
But DDP is 3 credits per day
QSDP is 2 credits per day
DXDP is 5 credits per day

CS restaurants — 1 credit
TS— 2 credits
Signature and the more expensive buffets: 3 credits

then a DDP person would have the flexibility to... 3 CS in 1 day, 1 signature for the day, or 1 TS + 1 CS.

If this includes appetizers (would be interesting if it allowed appetizer OR dessert to be entirely different from any existing plan) then I'm very interested to see more details on this.

Either way I'm sure this will make sense for a lot of families so it's always nice to see additional options available.

I like the idea of this plan. Will definitely consider upgrading my free dining bounce back for July if thats allowed and depending on price. But do you think it will make dining reservations more difficult to get? Especially some of the more in demand places because if the price is right that's a lot more TS meals that each family will be booking per trip. Adding it on after the 180 day mark may not be worth it if you can't get any reservations.

So stupid question so i can only get TS instead of QS if i wanted to? Not much of a fan of QS we do more TS

Hm... deciding on whether this would be good for me as I know that sometimes my mom and I like to go to Whispering Canyon for breakfast everyday in addition to dinner While for lunch it’s usually a quick serve restaurant

My first reaction to this is all the dining plans are about to get a price hike. so we just booked our deluxe today lol. This plan sounds interesting had to think about it . yeah I think it will be close to 100$ a night seem like staying with the deluxe at current prices was worth it being would just be paying 20$ more for 1 more credit and that would go to Boma for breakfast for us. To early to really make judgement call on the value of it with no real numbers. But this was a red flag for me that all the Dinning plans will probably get a price hike in a few days

Speculating, price goes up $20 & this could replace one of the current plans for next year. Ex: this becomes the middle dining plan & the regular dining plan we currently have (1TS, 1CS) goes away. Or the deluxe goes away. Wonder how many people actually buy that one.

Deluxe is the only one that we buy. It really is the only one where you get value. We always shared with friends as it was too much food for us.

Agreed it really is the only with value. We always get it also and it is way too much food, but you order the right things at Dinner and that one meal pays for itself for the entire days worth of meals.
