Before I start, a HUGE thankyou to all you DISsers who have posted their restaurant reviews. Without them we would have had NO CLUE where to eat!
Concourse Steakhouse(D): Our first Disney restaurant! The service was quick. The Steak was really really nice! And the Chicken Wings were finger lickin good! We were so full afterwards we had to take our dessert to our room to finish later. The Chocolate Cake was so yummy and the Carrot cake was also very tasty.
Columbia Harbour House(L): This was our first counter service and we really loved those Chicken Strips!!! We also somehow got 2 extra desserts on the Dining Plan, but couldn't eat them all. The Chocolate Cake was very rich and delicious. The atmosphere was really cosy and homely, there was lots of room to sit down and eat - 2 floors.
Crystal Palace(D): This was our first character dining experience. Met all the characters - they came around very quickly and made sure to visit each table. We didn't like the food much though, and the service was slow.
Hollywood & Vine(D): This was surprisingly a good buffet after reading all the negative reviews. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was noisy but fun. There was lots to choose from in the buffet and we found we could eat a lot of the food compared to Crystal Palace. Dessert was really good had a great selection and the ice-cream was soooo nice!
Cantina de San Angel(L): This counter service was soooo nice! Don't be turned off by the look of the food, it doesnt taste how it looks. We had 2 combination plates, nachos and burrito - it was all so yummy and you got heaps of food - we wish we could have gone there again!
Rose & Crown(D): YUM! This was our favourite restaurant the whole trip. The atmosphere was of a typical English pub and the service was excellent very friendly and knew what he was talking about! The portions here were huge!! The cheese platter is a must eat SO SO nice! The potato and leek soup was nice but very rich. The Fish & Chips were the best we've eaten.
SCI-FI(D): We really loved this restaurant, it had a fun atmosphere, and funny/silly movies on the big screen. Loved the seating - how original! The milkshakes were very thick and delicious. The burgers were great!! Service was good, he was very nice and entertaining. Dessert was a bit of a letdown we had Chocolate Sundaes - they were slow to come out and it had nearly all melted by then. Thanks to the reviews we had to try this restaurant and it was nothing like we've ever been to before.
Rainforest Cafe(L): The restaurant was so much fun! We were seated near a bunch of gorillas who went ape every 15 minutes. The thunderstorm which went over every half hour was great! We had the coconut chicken strips which were really nice - having the coconut dipping sauce was so much different!, we also had a appetizer nachos for the main which was HUGE! it could have easily fed our family of 4. We don't have anything like this in Australia and it was a great experience. Service was great as well, he was very friendly and told us to go check out all the fish and animals.
Boma(D): This was a let down, we did not like the Cinnamon in every dish at all. We couldn't find much to eat at the buffet here. Although we were willing to try the different culture of African foods the Cinnamon was just too strong. The African Atmosphere was really great and the service was really good too.
We were on the Disney Dining Plan for only 4 days, we could not have kept going on the Dining Plan for more than that as there was just too much food and we would have wasted our credits. It was handy having snack credits for popcorn, and breakfast snacks too.
