Pin question when booking multiple rooms

I received the FD pin and have since applied it to our reservation.

DH's friend called last night and would like to join us.

The only difference is they want a different resort from us. The travel dates will be the same.

I've called WDW to see if they could take advantage of our pin being at a different resort .. the first person said NO ... the second person put me on hold and came back and said YES.

Which is it?

We were originally told no yesterday also, but then we ended up booking with the grand gathering dept and we have 3 rooms (all under ONE pin) one room at POR and 2 rooms at POFQ not sure if it matters that they are sister resorts though.
