would you give to someone planning a Vegas vacation ?

dont stay at the hotels at the ends of the strip

the length between hotels is huge and the only place you'll find a seat/bench is in front of the slot machines. Learn the monorail system and use it.

Stay on the strip and preferably on the mid-strip. Think Bellagio, Harrah's or if on a budget Wild Bills Gambling Hall and Saloon. They all have great locations and are easy to get to.

These are great! Any other tips for someone planning their first trip? :goodvibes

Make sure you see the Bellagio Fountain at night! It's beautiful! (aka : Take time to see the FREE sights)

Watch for people at crosswalks along LVB.

They seem to be looking at everything BUT traffic.

Oh, have fun as well.

:)

Make sure to see a a show, Cirque, La Reve, Blue Man group, etc, there are plenty and really great.

i would agree with this, but not them shows, but we all like certain shows, I dont like circus type shows, but your day is so much more fun to plan around a show, if you stop by one of the tics4tonight you can get great discounts. plus it get you to see the other hotel.o would add in you go in dec, jan and feb its cold, you think the desert would be hot, but noooooooooo

Just because they HAVE escalators....doesn't mean they work ;). Be prepared for LOTS of walking. Oh and you must see a Cirque du Soleil if you are a fan! The Vegas shows are great... really loved O!

Wild Bill's is gone..

if you need to get somewhere quickly, eg: to get to another casino in a short time to catch a show, take a taxi cab...

We were a big group with some less mobile members, who caught a cab to get to our reservations - the cab got there in minutes and it took the rest of us walking fast and taking the monorail just over 40 minutes and we were exhausted.

Next trip I'm cabbing it all the way.

anit that the truth, if your way tired or in a hurry, just get the cab and there easy to get

Free valet parking EVERYWHERE - don't be afraid to rent a car.:drive:
Exactly - valet parking at hotel/casinos is generally free, which will save you a lot of walking from the self-parking structure.

Be sure to tip when they retrieve your car.

Stay hydrated, and keep a water bottle with you at all times when your out walking the strip.

It's very easy to end up with heat exhaustion if your not careful, make it a point to duck into an air conditioned building once in a while to cool off.

Wear tennis shoes, or other form of sturdy footwear when walking the strip, your feet will thank you. Save your flip flops for walking to and from the pool only.

Sign up for and use the "players club" cards. We only play penny slots and receive specials all the time. We often get comped rooms at Harrah's properties!:)

Take a morning or afternoon to get off of the strip and see the real Las Vegas area.

Wild Bill's is reopening soon I believe.
