QUESTION OF THE DAY!

What park do you hit up first when you get to WDW, is it the same every time or do you change it up each trip?!

For us it used to ALWAYS be Epcot, even when we used to go 2+ times a year! Now that the kids are older and we have to give them SOME kind of say (LOL), we do Magic Kingdom first most of the time...this year we are doing it because we are staying right on the monorail line so it's convenience! HAHAHA!

We don't have a park that we have to visit on our first day for every trip. We did HS on our first day last year and are doing it first on our Nov/Dec trip this year. But for July we're doing AK. It was between and AK and HS because I wanted to avoid Epcot and MK for the 4th of July.

This is our first trip as a family, so we don't have anything "usual" (yet?!), but we are doing Epcot our first day, and then Animal Kingdom the next. Although we are taking park hours & crowd levels into consideration, this schedule is primarily because our kids are younger and we know once we hit Magic Kingdom, they will never want to leave. So we are getting the other parks checked off before MK & while they are still wide-eyed from arriving! LOL!

For the past 4 trips we have gone to EPCOT on our first park day, usually just for the latter half of the day. This year I have planned a late breakfast at Boma, around 10am and then heading straight to EPCOT from there, probably entering via International Gateway.

We always do MK first. I'm thinking of switching to Epcot so the kids can do the frozen ride. Skipping HS this year, not sure if there's much to do there. We only have 3 day park hopper passes so we can spend at day at Universal.

Well, today was my 180 mark for the first part of my trip. We are doing a split stay which means I actually have two 180 marks that I have to be up early for - ugh! This is my first time doing this & I'm not quite sure what to think and am a little frustrated, I guess.

We don't want to do a lot of table service meals, so I was only trying for 3 ADRs - Akershus breakfast (#1 priority), BOG lunch and Biergarten lunch. My sister was also up and ready & we were on speaker phone while we made the plans. Although we knew BOG was likely the most popular, since Akershus was our priority, we tried for that one first. No breakfast availability from 12/1-12/4, for any combination of guests. We have a party of 10 but tried breaking it down into smaller groups in the hopes of sitting near each other - no luck with anything.

To our surprise, we DID both get BOG lunch ADRs on 12/3, a MVMCP day, and we got them within an hour of the time we wanted. Really surprised considering I figured this would be our hardest one. We each got an ADR for 5 people on the first try.

Lastly, Biergarten did not even offer lunch times from 12/1-12/4 - only dinners are listed. Any suggestions on why no lunch availability is listed? Any expectations on when lunch times might be released?

Super bummed about Akershus but I'll keep trying. This is going to be the only character meal we do, so I really want it! I guess me & all the other people visiting, right?

Thanks - I was guessing this also. Kind of frustrating, isn't it, that Disney encourages us to plan our own schedules 180 days in advance, but they don't! I am mostly amused but I can imagine that checking MDE every day for availability is going to get old pretty quick over these next 6 months while I keep trying for the ADRs we couldn't get at 180 days.

It is a little frustrating but I did get everything else I wanted & it wouldn't be a Disney vacation if I wasn't obsessing over something.

Last year we went 12/10-12/18 & it ended up being busier than past years BUT we had no problems. We had one Epcot morning that we had issues but I was having a hard time navigating around the park which played a big part of it.

We are going in July at BWV and returning for December 22-29th at BW club level. A Christmas trip has been on my bucket list for years and we are finally going to do it!!

What is the best way to decorate your room? I would love to surprise DD college student with a tree. This will be our first Christmas away from home ever.

We thought we could upgrade our park tickets in July to an Annual Pass to use in December. Now, I am hearing that the Annual Pass would be blacked out for my week. Does anyone know?

It depends on which annual pass you upgrade to. The ones I bought have no blockout dates. I'm not a FL resident but I noticed a lot of the FL resident ones do have blackout dates.

I started making reservations for a few restaurants. I couldn't get a BOG dinner until near the end of my trip. I can't book ROL dining package or Candlelight Processional. Do these packages come out later in the year?
