Hi, I am completely new to Disney. I just booked a trip from Nov. 11 - Nov. 15th. I just found out that MVMCP will be held that week except for the 14th. I'm planning two days in MK, 13th (MVMCP) and 14th. What suggestions do you have regarding our botched itinerary now that we have to leave the park at 6pm? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for dining reservations outside of a park? I did not buy the hopper pass.

Other information - I will try to be there at rope drop on the day of MVMCP. I will have a 3 yr old and 6 yr old (girls) with me. I was planning on eating at BOG on the day of MVMCP, but I do not want to waste time at this dining experience if I have limited time in MK. I do not plan on spending the money for tickets to the party as I do not believe my young children will be able to handle such a late night.

Thank you for your suggestions!

You really are not dining for more than 30 minutes. It's not a "take your time" kind of dining experience.

I have the same issue with the Halloween party taking up most evenings. I suggest one of the monorail resort restaurants on Magic Kingdom day with a party. 1900 Park Fair, Chef Mickey's, Ohana, are fun for kids.

With girls that young I would recommend keeping the 13th and just doing rope drop to 6pm. We love party days because the park is empty until 4pm when the party tickets gain the attendees entry. Pre Order at your BOG lunch and you should be fine in and out in 30/45 minutes.

I remember one time we were at MK the day of the Halloween party we walked out at closing having had 7 FP+ reservations and a very full day.
We had our initial 3 and then booked 4 more before closing.

Since the 14th is another MK day then why not leave early and get back at it again the following day?

My understanding is that, because so many guests don’t want a short park day, the park is much less crowded on party days. You may well be able to get more done by 6 than you normally would get done by 10!

Especially if you’ll be there at Rope Drop, and with such young kids, I think going hard until park close would be pretty rough anyway. It’s tough with a 3-year-old to stay from open to close without a meltdown or two. On the other hand, you can have a great time going from open to 6 on a not-too-crowded day and then going to a more relaxing dinner at Grand Floridian, Polynesian, etc.

Honestly, if I was going to the park and not doing the party, I think I might deliberately plan to go on a party day like this. You’ll still have a great time!

Last year our first MK day was on a MVMCP day. It was 8am open, so we arrived at 7:30am and we were ready to go by 5:30pm. It was one of the best days we've ever had at the MK. We got so much done and we were nice and rested for the next day.

Try for a breakfast at BOG on the early-park closure day. You can also pre-order food which will save time. I find that the earlier in the day the less likely you'll have a longer wait for BOG.

Some ideas for the evening hours: Disney Springs, monorail tour, Beaches'n'Cream or another fun dinner somewhere, or a pool & movie night wherever you are staying. I always like a little downtime after a busy day!

I would rope drop the party day and do a character dinner or a night at the boardwalk, get to bed early and rope drop again the next day

I deliberately choose to go to MK on a party day due to crowd issues. I try to leave by 5PM as it gets a little crazy beginning at 4 when Party guests are allowed to enter.

You have the best of both worlds, IMHO. The crowds are typically lighter on party days, so go at RD and exit at 6 pm. That gives you a good 9 to 10 hours in the park (depending on opening time that day). I would look at the casual restaurants in the MK area for dinner - O'hana, Kona, the Wave, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's, GF Cafe and Whispering Canyon. 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's and Whispering Canyon will be the most entertaining. If you are up for it, you can see the fireworks from any of the MK monorail resorts.

I'm not sure which meal you are interested in at BOG? At lunch, it's a counter service meal which doesn't take up a lot of time as long as you pre-order. If you wanted dinner, simply make a dinner reservation near the 6 pm closing time to maximize your touring time. Just know, if your meal ends after 6 pm on a party night, they will escort you out of the park if you don't have a ticket.

That is crazy! If at all possible, I would try to reschedule my trip.

The MK will have massive crowds on the one day that there is no party.

Where can you find a calendar of all the MVMCP dates? I don't see it posted on the site yet. Thanks!

The non party day will be nuts. We went a week when there ended up being two non party days and one day they closed at 4:30 for a cast member event!

It was great on party days - that 4:30 close day we did every ride we wanted to by 3:15 and went for a nap before dinner.

I’ve wondered about this before too! So it sounds like the best plan is to go to MK on party day, get say a 6:30-7:00 ADR somewhere like 1900...but then is there anywhere decent outside the parks to catch the fireworks too?

If you eat at 1900, you can watch the fireworks from the GF boat dock or marina!

9-6 and your little ones will be ready to crash. It sounds like a perfect day. One idea for dinner is to get the latest non party reservation at BOG. Dinner is TS and it would be a special way to end the day.

However, BOG will be a signature restaurant for dinner by that time of year.

I'm interested too. I haven't seen it anywhere yet although i wasn't expecting dates to be released this early. We are travelling from overseas and would like to schedule in the party so I'm keen to see dates.
