I hope you have a wonderful time (and I'm sure you will).
I'm SO excited! This entire weekend I was on the DIS re-reading the beginning of your TR,
@Captain_Oblivious and Cynthia's. Took down a bunch on notes (including exits numbers!) because the 90 day mark was yesterday so I pre-registered Calvin for Aunty's. I may have a few questions for you soon
I may have already mentioned it, but there is a big "Aulani Villas and Views" thread on here that is really helpful for room requests. If you end up in the right Island Garden room you might have a glimpse of the ocean too (my in-laws did on this last trip!)
Perfect I'll be off to find that thread shortly. I can't make any requests until 10 days before during online check-in anyway right (Assuming they do Online Check-in??)
Wow, very nice!
It really was such a cool room. Spacious!
So true, though. Great parade.
This parade was amazing! So glad we got to see it.
Wow, that's awesome! Our next WDW visit (December) should be like that....Izzy is just under 40" without shoes right now, so she should be good to go in 6 months! She is excited to ride the "big rides" and has proven a little daredevil thus far (on smaller things).
Yay Izzy! I'm sure she'll handle the bigger rides like a boss
Haha, silly kid.
By the way, Izzy was sitting near me while I read the updates and wanted to watch all the videos. She kept saying, "When I get big, I'm going back to Disneyland and I'm going to RIDE THAT!!!" (even the Knott's Berry Farm ones
)
She's such a doll!
Aw, making me all teary here.
Made it even more special for me, knowing that my Dad's favorite ride at Disneyland was Soarin' (especially the jets scene)
Wow, he did pretty good!
I think so! Definitely want to get some type of cheap camera for him.
Thanks for posting about it! I love to hear about recent fun!
Thanks!
I enjoyed reading about your quick DLR trip and Knott's Berry Farms!
Yay for Cal's first big boy ride! I can't imagine how exciting it is for you guys to finally get to experience the bigger rides with him! I also love the idea of getting him a pin to celebrate the big moment.
Your DH's antics had me laughing out loud while reading this post! If he does sneak back hopefully you will report back on his mischief in Ghost Town Alive.
That Nemo apple is so cute, almost too adorable to eat! I am also a fan of Cal's artistic photography skills. He really captured some great moment for all of us here to enjoy
DH and I were so excited that he made it into the land of Big Boy rides! Looking forward to all our future trips to WDW and DLR now even more.
DH took the role of being in a riot way too seriously
But when he's given a role, he goes all out!
Cal's perspective makes me laugh! He had my phone when DH and I were putting in new couches and he took one of DH squatting to pick up the old couch and he had the angle and lighting just right, it was such a cool shot, even though it was of a squatting man
Aulani! So jealous. Some friends of outs from here just got back today. Their pics on FB were amazing. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.
Love your mini TR. I'm so glad Calvin was big enough for some of the bigger rides. Love that he loved Soarin'! And I love the video of him dancing to the Cajun music!
Knott's Berry Farm looks like so much fun! Those Snoopy pics. OMG. We are going to Cedar Point in Ohio in a few weeks, and they also have the Peanuts characters, so I hope we get to meet Snoopy!
Quentin is so cute. What a little sweetheart!
I'm beyond excited! It's been fun doing research for this new adventure. And i'm very happy it's not as detail oriented as a trip to WDW would be
I was looking at one of the cups that was in the store at Knott's and it said Cedar Point and a few other places and I had no idea that Peanuts characters were at these theme parks as well! I thought it was exclusive to Knott's but very cool!
Yay! Congrats on the new trip planned! Aulani looks like such a great place to visit!
It really does look like such a fun (and dare I say, relaxing!) place. Totally looking forward to exploring this resort.
Nice upgrade! The room looked very comfortable!
Even though it was just for the night, it was nice to have all that extra space for Cal to run around in.
Sounds like a fun couple of days!
Totally was!
That is awesome they used the music from Wreck-it-Ralph. I feel that movie and its characters are so underrated!
YES!
DH and I love everything about this movie. The gaming aspect of it, is what draws DH to it (of course!
)
This parade looks and sounds amazing! all the floats are beautiful! I also love how Mickey is in his Sorcerer costume!
You've got to watch it one day if you ever make it out here.
Yay!!! That's so exciting!!!
That's great Calvin like riding Soarin!
The Knottsberry farm looked really cute and a lot of fun! And Calvin really does have some great photography skills, but I think that last one of the lady should be scrapbooked or something, that is just too funny!
Glad to her you all had a nice time, and also, Q is so cute!
Looking forward as always to read more!
I was so happy that Cal enjoyed Soarin', that was the one ride I was praying for!
And you're right, I should totally make a scrapbook for him of all the pictures he has taken over the years!
What fun updates! I've been following your TR's since you took DS1 to WDW as a newborn baby. I can't believe he's now riding the big rides! Both your DS's are adorable. Your trip to Aulani sounds wonderful - hope you do a TR!
To see Cal going from a stroller to a big boy ride is awesome! It's so fun to experience him growing up at DLR/WDW!
I'm definitely doing a TR to Aulani!
First off - super happy for you that you are going to Aulani! No idea if we will ever get there (just scared of that plane flight with 3 kids) but it looks really nice!
What was shocking for me while doing research for Aulani, was that most people were coming from the East Coast/Mid-West so their flights were SUPER long but they survived and i'm pretty sure you guys would survive too! You could do a little break in between flights and come visit DLR again
Second, super glad you got to see Pain the Night - even if not my super, secret viewing location
... seems like you got a good spot! And with rumors of it leaving Disneyland for Walt Disney World as of September, probably good you got to see it when you did
WHAT!??? NO FREAKIN' WAY. This is really, really sad.
Hasn't it only been in production for like 3 years?? The upside is we're DVC members- we'll get to WDW again (many more times!)
Looks like fun at Knottsberry .. well, at least once you got to attractions Cal liked better, and does sound like good food too! That Ghost Town looks pretty cool - and DH definitely has his priorities straight
I was just glad Knott's Berry turned out to be a success! For both Cal and DH
Great pictures by Cal! ... especially that last one which totally set the scene!
He's quite a character!
When we have rented strollers it has always been the City Mini double and that has worked out well. And we did that for DLR and got the standing board attachment so the third kid can ride on that (not that I am pushing you to 3 kids or anything, just mentioning that as an added option you can rent). I think for our upcoming trip since we are driving we will just bring our regular big stroller which is a uppa baby that we have the rumble seat attachment for so at least 2 kids can ride, but we actually haven't decided on this.
Definitely not ruling out the standing board attachment (who knows what can happen kid-wise in the future
) I'm looking at pictures online through uppababy and that stroller looks so versatile! So essentially you can also have three kids on one stroller (two sitting, one on a piggyback board!). But I like that it's not wide like the City Mini Double and instead it's longer. Very cool!
Really enjoyed your DL reporting. We may take our first trip there this October -- so it's great to get some perspective.
Ooh I hope you make it out here! October will be a fun time too since the HM will have the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, which is always super popular. Plus great weather (can be warm) and depending on your dates, crowds aren't too heavy.
Just caught up with WDW - I am SO jealous because I was planning out a trip for the exact same time - early Jan - just to catch the end of the Osborne Lights, but sadly the timing just wasn't working
So even though it was crazy busy you were so lucky to see them!!! I never got to see them ever booooo.
Also, I loved your Poly check in coverage because it reminded me of my first night at the Poly
Your villa is so cool! Love the two bathrooms, I bet that comes in handy when there are four of you. And YAY for retrieving your stroller!!! Finally. Hopefully things go smoother from here!
Now I'm off to read your Disneyland report!
I'm so sad for you that you never got to see them! They really were so beautiful
Hopefully they'll do something similar like this again in the future!
Ahh the Poly!
So in love with that place. Is it possible to have like 5 favorite resorts, cause I totally do!
I love that the studios here has the 'extra' bathroom, makes getting ready in the mornings/nights so much easier.
Yeeeeeaaahh! That is awesome. Are you going to write about it?
Heck yes I am! I want to remember this trip forever (just in case we don't ever get back to HI again!)
My little mini-me for sure!
There seems to be a trend with this kid
Also, it it totally heinous of me to find the crying videos/photos hilarious..?!
Um, absolutely not, I posted it for laughs! I'm such an evil mom for laughing at my poor, frightened child
He was going through my phone the other day and he came across this video and he said, "The Red Baron ride. I don't want to go on that again."
Owww this picture is everything. And that baby-carrying shirt is genius, is it comfortable?!
It's actually a moby wrap! Totally comes in handy for rides with a small baby or even just walking around. Leaves me (pretty much) hands free and able to eat, drink, shop, console a terrified toddler
Ok, now I don't blame Calvin for not liking this one, it looks awful?!!?!? Rated 1/10 - would puke.
I thought it was going to be a nice, smooth ride (didn't get to actually see it in motion beforehand since we walked up right as the previous riders were exiting!) and once it started going I was like...."
he's so going to start crying!"
Did someone say Hufflepuff..?
Sounds like the perfect kid to me!!!
I'm telling you, him and Jamie would be perf together touring parks! So many ridiculous antics to be had.
Owww Mini-Me is a tiny little human!!!!!
Just an 11 pound dude!
Coolest kid in town. I need that Charlie Brown wristband in my life asap.
I remember in my pre-teen years, those slap wristbands were everything! Totally retro.
These two pictures are greatness.
Hey this is good!! Good job Calvin.
I'm totally getting him his own camera soon! Do they make disposables anymore???
I already saw this on FB but it's still funny the second time around
Poor woman looks so awkward
Great mini-report! Are there any bigger rides at Knott's Berry, or is it just a kiddy place? Looks cute either way, I've loved Peanuts since I was a kid
Thanks for sharing!
The fact that I still see his 'work' on my phone, cracks me up every time! He's brilliant.
There are lots of big rides! Some really cool ones too that DH and I would have loved to get on, but the waits were pretty long and I didn't want to have DM wait with the two kids (darn you Knott's for not having a FP system!)
