Has there always been a monthly payment option?
For Florida residents
Has there always been a monthly payment option?
Yes you do, if you stay on siteThat's not exactly accurate.
Remember before your tickets used to be able to be used anytime within a 14 day period. You no longer get that.
For example if you select a 5-day park hopper for 10/17/18 you only have until 10/24/18 to use them. That will narrow down the amount of folks not impacted even more.
Now...consider that in order to get the 14 day time period back for a 5-day park hopper you have to pay $47.42+ tax (which equals $50.50 with tax) MORE than you did previously.
It's basically a double whammy for the Flexible Option--adds back on 14-day usage and you don't have to choose specific dates.
So not only do people need to consider this in their comparisons between before and after they need to consider the amount of days they are purchasing and the amount of days they have to use those tickets and then compare that with the Flexible Option to remove those restrictions.
What? They aren't going to want or add the Flex option so explain to this blonde what the heck you mean?Yes you are paying less for less value, but you are not paying enough less to make up for that lost value, so technically you are paying more. They Disney steamroller is still coming for you and will get more of your total $ and will now catch you unaware.
Okay, well I am glad I bought last night. Paid 521 on Working Advantage, and my June 21 for 10 day ticket for my 3 year old would have been 597 on site. Looks like Christmas week is the most at 622. And Jan 21st the cheapest at 551. I still do not think this will sway anyone to visit differently.
Not a single one? Those with total flexibility will use price to consider the trip dates, especially since it points out, click here to see what the cheapest dates are. If you don't have a set date, of course, you'll click that. Now, do many have complete flexibility on dates? Or do most have a time frame they are limited to? I think most have a limited time frame. But some don't. So someone will be swayed by the cheaper options. Since rooms are cheaper those dates too.
If you aren't adding the Flex option to your ticket the bottom line is you pay less for the ticket you want and will use today. Explain to me how your Disney math comes up with a way to make that negative? The bottom line is you are now paying a substantial amount for something you got for free yesterday. There is no other way to twist it, or try to use Disney math.
I've never once cancelled a trip. I'm sure it can happen.Yes you are paying less for less value, but you are not paying enough less to make up for that lost value, so technically you are paying more. They Disney steamroller is still coming for you and will get more of your total $ and will now catch you unaware.
Come on you know what I meant. If you want to ignore what I actually said and what was the point by all means do soYes you do, if you stay on site
Huh? I didn't ignore anything. I said that if you stay on site you don't need to add the 14 day stay option. If you knew that, you didn't state it so I had no way to read your thoughtsCome on you know what I meant. If you want to ignore what I actually said and what was the point by all means do so
Staying onsite doesn't mean this wasn't a change and something people need to consider.
Staying onsite means you don't have to pay for theme park parking but that doesn't mean that didn't go up, staying onsite doesn't mean that the basic and certain special MB didn't go up in price even though they are still included in an onsite stay, and staying onsite means restrictions of when to use your tickets are based on your length of stay but it doesn't mean the tickets didn't get reduced in the amount of days one has to use them in addition to be date-specific.
All of the above are simply exceptions to base rules in place for the new system. Would Disney remove these exceptions? Probably not as it likely impacts people wanting to stay onsite then again charging for overnight parking for onsite guests is something I didn't think Disney would do.
Yes, tickets are good for the length of your stay, this has already been posted. Are tickets good for 14 days if you stay onsite without a package, or do they still expire on the same schedule? What about with split stays? This comes into play for us on our next trip. We have a split stay, 4 nights CBR/4 nights POR over NYE. Going to the parks only 4 days total. If we were to buy a 4 day ticket with the first day as the start day, we could't use it on the last 2 days we will be there (because you only have 7 days to use the 4 days). So without paying for the flexible option we wouldn't be able to go to the parks on both the first and last days with that ticket. Yes, we could plan out park days around that, but it's irritating.
I wonder how FP day went for everyone today.
Maybe they are trying to lump it all at once, one big blow so you can get hit, and recover, instead of a bunch of little ones that just keep on hurting, just as you get over the last hit?The part that frustrates me is that increased prices on a lot of things within a small amount of time. Parking, food, merchandise and tickets. This stuffs happens every year but it's typically spread throughout the year
I was wondering the same.I wonder how FP day went for everyone today.
And to add to that...what about DVC stays (whether by an owner or a renter)? Will the 14-days to use all your entitlements also apply to them even though they are not staying on a package? A lot of owners tend to take more resort days than the average guest. A 5-day pass previously could be used over a 2-week period with side trips to Universal, Sea World and/or the beach interspersed with Disney parks and resort days. Are tickets good for 14 days if you stay onsite without a package, or do they still expire on the same schedule? $50 is a lot per person. Has anyone checked the price difference between the highest cost dates and the lowest?
It won't be hard to keep it tied to a resort stay length, package or room only. However, break that stay up and that changes everything. Those are going to be the complicated ones for sureAnd to add to that...what about DVC stays (whether by an owner or a renter)? It would be curious to see how the exemplary Disney IT group handles this feature.
Of course. They are authorized resellers and are not going to sell you tickets that won't work. They won't be authorized for long if they did thatOk I just need someone to reassure me...if I buy tickets from UT (non date specific tickets) I am not going to have a problem, right? They are still going to work? I assume it is the same as any other tickets that were purchased prior to today. Is that right?
