That's so true about the eggs. Come to think of it, I've never had good scrambled eggs in Japan, but then again, I don't really see a lot of scrambled eggs on the menu in restaurants here. I'm glad you liked the set overall. Thanks for reading and more to come! I guess leaving the leftovers to the husband is a worldwide thing. I often get that too!!! Hahaha!!!
Isn't that what husbands are good for? Finishing off our meals, so nothing goes to waste? LOL!

While in Japan, we stayed at the Act Okura Hamamatsu Hotel and Tokyo Prince Hotel. Both included complimentary breakfast buffets daily during our stay. I must say that the buffets were amazing, with both Japanese and American food choices. Every single day, the buffets included scrambled eggs on the American side, so it seemed like that dish was a common food item in Japan. Then again, you are correct. I didn't see scrambled eggs on the menu at the restaurants that we went to, but we did mostly go to more traditional Japanese food restaurants. My favorite of all is ramen, but we had wonderful gyoza and tonkatsu too. My DH likes unagi, but that's not for me.

As for the Teriyaki Chicken Leg...I had to laugh about that one! I saw people at TDL eating what I thought was turkey legs. I thought those were the smallest turkey legs I've ever seen! Now that I see your blog, I'm thinking they must have been chicken legs after all!

Ohhhhh, I love ramen too and unagi and gyoza and tonkatsu. The buffets in the hotels here are good. I really enjoy them too. This is a really good message to wake up too. I am hungry! Haha and yes those are chicken legs. You should have tried them. They are actually really good!

WOW, that udon place looks great, even though I'm not much of an udon fan. I did look at a prior report you had for Ippudo Ramen. I am pretty certain we went to an Ippudo Ramen while in Hamamatsu. OMG, it was the best ramen I've ever had, well, almost. It ranks right up there along Monta in Las Vegas. We definitely must go to Ippudo at TDR, when we get back there in the future.

Ippudo is great, but there's better ones. If you have the time, do head to Ichiran Ramen or Jangara Ramen. Jangara Those two, in my opinion, are better than Ippudo! They're not in Maihama though. :(

I'll have to keep those places in mind for our next Japan trip! I would have loved to try many more ramen shops while we were there. We went to the Ramen Museum and it was so crowded! We had such a limited time there (didn't even have the time to shop after we ate!), we chose one of the shorter lines. That was the Okinawan shop. It was pretty good, something to try, but not somewhere I'd make a trip out of my way to go back. I would love to try some of the other places at the Ramen Museum, though. We also tried a ramen place in Tokyo, walking distance from Tokyo Prince Hotel, on your way to the train station. I can not recall the name of it, but I didn't care for it much. The noodles were really thick. It reminded me of Okinawa soba. While I do like Okinawa soba, that's because I intend to eat Okinawa soba. When I want to eat ramen, I prefer noodles that are more ramen-like ~ LOL!

I got ya. You prefer the thinner noodles. Me too. I love Hakata ramen. Thin and firm noodles are my favorite. Hahaha, more ramen-like? Here's something interesting. Ramen comes from the word La Mian which is Chinese. La Mian in Chinese means pulled noodles. Noodles that are stretched out I guess. If we go by that definition, Okinawan Soba would be La Mian too. ;)

Mmmmmm, Monta ramen is so good.

I am going to Tokyo in October and need to keep these in mind! I have been obsessed with ramen these past couple years and need to find a good place to go to while my vegan friend is working.

Jangara Ramen serves up vegetarian ramen too! You can go with your friend. There are loads of great ramen joints in Japan. Those are my favorites. There's even one that is delicious, but I always feel bad after eating it. It's a little too much for me to handle. Try googling Junk Garage. That one is on a totally different level. If you like spicy ramen, you gotto try Nakamoto Moukotanmen too! I wrote a review of it here. http://www.honorablerat.com/food-review/2016/1/23/hokkyoku-ramen

Got back from our WDW trip almost 2 weeks ago, but today is the first day I am visiting the Disboard. Having severe Disney withdrawals, ever since we returned!

As for ramen, LOL - I guess I'm trying to make the distinction between ramen noodles, udon noodles, soba noodles, and locally (here in Hawaii) saimin noodles, along with whatever other kinds of soup noodles are out there. I do realize ramen noodles come in all different types (as evidenced at our trip the the Ramen Museum), but like you, I prefer thin and firm noodles for my ramen. For me, that will always define "ramen noodles"! :teeth:

Hell yeah! That's ramen noodles for me too. The thick noodles don't really do it for me. Have never tried Saimin noodles. Next time I head to Hawaii, I will definitely give that a try. What's the soup base for that one?
