Reviews started 9/9/11! Links in post #4!
Hello! We are just a under a month away from our arrival at Walt Disney World! I did my first dining review when DS and I took our Mom & Son trip in 2008. Went back with Dad for Christmas 2009 and then went on our first trip to Disneyland in July 2010. Here we are!
So I feel like it has been absolutely forever since we were in my Happy Place. Plus we all absolutely loved Disneyland and are hoping to go back next summer which means I won't be back to WDW until at least 2013! Also DS is 15. Not sure how many trips with just the fam he will be coming on. I am sorta thinking this may be the last trip to the World with just the 3 of us. Because of all this, this trip has taken on a whole new meaning for me. I want it to be just perfect. (No pressure, huh?)
A little background ... my first trip to WDW was in 1986. DH and I went in 1990 then back again for our honeymoon in 1991. We were able to go back again in 1993 & 1994 and then we had DS in 1996. Then things came apart a bit financially and we weren't able to take DS until 2004 after a 10 year gap. I fell even more in love with Disney thru DS's eyes and have become obsessed. I really felt that was a once in a lifetime trip but we have managed to pull off a trip each year since.
With regard to food, DS and I both became more adventurous during our '08 trip. He realized that he likes things with sauces and spice. I realized that new things wouldn't kill me! So now we are at a place that we both like to try new tastes and cuisines. We really don't eat much fish other than tilapia and no seafood except scallops once in a while. DS loves lamb although DH and I do not eat it so that is odd. Not sure how he learned that he likes it! DH will really eat just about anything but doesn't like spicy or adventurous food as much as DS and I. He big request this trip is the Yachtman for steak.
So ... on to the food. I was up bright and early on February 25th and made all of my planned reservations for the "perfect" trip. I was thrilled to get everything. Well, you know how you get an email whenever you make an ADR on line? I have saved all of my emails in a folder and I now have 248! Yes, 248! That is how many changes and tweaks I have made over the past 5 months. I now do feel that the trip is perfect!
