Can't wait to hear what the name will be.

NEW YORK (AP) — Mick Jagger's representatives say the rock legend has welcomed the birth of his eighth child.

Jagger, the 73-year-old frontman of the Rolling Stones, was on hand Thursday at a New York hospital when girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, gave birth to the couple's son. According to a statement, both parents are "delighted" and "mother and baby are doing well."

Jagger already has seven children — Georgia, James, Jade, Elizabeth, Lucas, Karis and Gabriel — who range in age from their 40s to teenagers.

He became a great-grandfather in May 2014 when Jade's daughter, Assisi, gave birth to a baby girl.

Hamrick is a 29-year-old ballerina who has performed with the American Ballet Theatre in New York. They began dating after the suicide of fashion designer L'Wren Scott in 2014, Jagger's partner of 13 years.

In May, fellow Rolling Stone Ron Wood became a father again at 68 after his wife, Sally Humphreys, gave birth to twin girls.

Jagger and his bandmates recently released "Blue & Lonesome," the iconic rock group's first album in 11 years. The 12-track set includes covers of blues songs from Jimmy Reed, Little Walter, Eddie Taylor and more.

I'm way too old for Mick. But I think he's still sexy.

From what I've read about him over the years, I think he's been a pretty good dad to all of his children, so good for him.

I'm not seeing any big problem here. The worst thing is that Mick may not be around to raise the child. Not sure what he contributed to the raising of his other kids, but you don't hear about them getting into a lot of trouble like some celebrities' kids. And it's possible Mick may live another 20 years, the guy must have the cardiovascular system of a horse.

My issue with this is that:
1) 73 years old is too old to be bringing a child into this world. He might be in relatively good health now but let's be honest the chances are he is going to be dead before that child reaches adulthood which is just selfish to be willing to put your child through something like that.
2) His partner of 13 years commited suicide in 2014 so he hasn't exactly been in a long term relationship with this current woman. 1yr - 18month in a relationship and then to have a child doesn't exactly scream good idea especially given his significant loss so recently. I know accidents happen but he is old, rich and experienced enough to know better
