Marathon Weekend 2024

When you go to the runner tracking page, you’ll put in the name of the person you are trying to track and then sign up for the email alerts for that person. And that’s when you use the phonenumber@ to get text alerts
Have you successfully found where to enter it this year? I’ve always signed my spectators up but I’m not seeing it this year.

If you're flying in and renting a car at MCO, look into the Visitor Toll Pass. Most of the roads/quickest routes to and from MCO are toll roads. We use it every trip, and it only takes about an extra 5min to walk over to A terminal to grab it and then get back over to B side (our flights and therefore luggage are usually in B terminal.) DH grabs our bags while I'm getting the toll pass and then meets me at the rental car counter. And then you just drop the toll pass in what looks like a mailbox when you go back to MCO to fly home.

For anyone who hasn't used VTP:
You need to download the app, and make a "reservation" for when you will pick it up. The hang tags are in what looks like a big vending machine in A terminal, on the same floor as the rental car desks. Sometimes there is an employee there if you need assistance. You should pick a time that you will pick your tag up BEFORE. So as an example, our flight lands at 6:44, and I have a 7:30 pick-up in the app, and if we get delayed, I can edit the pickup time. Apparently if you are "late" for your pickup time, you have to make a whole new "reservation." Once you get to the machine, you scan the QR code, and it drops a hang tag for the mirror of your rental car. You link the license plate to your hang-tag in the app before exiting the garage (plate number and state.)

They charge a $10 deposit to start, and then deduct your actual tolls from that $10, and any tolls past that $10. If you don't return the hang-tag, there's a $10 no-return fee. You're able to just drive directly through all of the sunpass toll locations and it's great and cheaper than what the rental car companies try to charge you. Sometimes it takes about a month for them to refund any difference between the tolls and the deposit, but in the end, you only pay for the tolls and nothing extra.
@Herding_Cats Visitor Toll Pass booked! Realized I forgot to say thank you (this is also the day I am forcing my kids to write their thank you notes!)

Just go back and look at what you used for either POT submission or estimated finish time on your registration. If you could also re-post your bib number and what you put as your estimate I'll update the below. Also please mention if you are a club runDisney member that gets a corral boost because you're bib number reflects that.

I thought these numbers used to be bigger. I know the pandemic reduced the number of entries, but it's this even smaller than last year?

I only have my one Dopey bib that I “claimed” but I am not seeing the option to sign up for alerts for myself or spectators either.
For wine and dine there was no option for alerts for the 10K, email alerts (or convert to text message) showed up the night before the half

I have landed uneventfully at MCO! Waiting for my Mears shuttle, my line includes Pop and it’s LONG, at least longer than I’ve ever seen it (usually it’s a ghost town). No problem since I’m sure my room won’t be ready for an hour anyways. So excited to get this week going!!!

I think this may have been addressed, but I need a little help with getting to the 5 and 10K races. We are at OKW. When we ran Dopey two years ago it was a piece of cake, but it seems like road closures might have changed? Best route??

There’s no main road closures for the 5K. Epcot center Drive does not close until 4am on 10K day. As long as you are through there before then you will be fine.

This is the long way around, but avoids Epcot Center Drive.

- Left turn onto Bonnet Creek Parkway
- Right turn onto Buena Vista Drive
- Right turn onto World Drive
- exit right to Epcot

Google maps is really good at routing around road closures.

I don't see any road closures for the 5k. For the 10k, the main ramp into the Epcot lot closes at 4:30 am. From OKW, the main way to get to Epcot is, from the edge of the hotel area, to turn right on Epcot Center Drive, and go down that ramp. If that ramp closes, the best thing to do would be to continue on Epcot Center Drive to World Drive going South, take that do Buena Vista Drive headed East, back to World Drive headed North, back towards Epcot.

The other way might be, starting from OKW, is to turn left on Bonnet Creek Parkway, turn right onto Buena Vista Drive going West, then to World Drive going North.
