Las Vegas Accommodation

What room type are you staying in? I will need to find accom for 5 next year and everywhere I have looked at has a maximum of 4.

We have stayed at MGM once, and twice at the Luxor.

It's a Deluxe Room. I booked it through Expedia and they would only let me book 2 adults and 2 kids BUT I called the hotel direct and they said it was fine to have 3 kids but the system wouldn't let us book it that way. I'm not sure if we'll have to pay extra for a rollaway when we get there. I'll let you know when we get back though.

Thanks, I would appreciate that. My youngest will only be 2. All 3 kids can share a bed so I wont even need a rollaway.

Friday and Saturday nights are expensive in Vegas. One option could be timeshares, they tend to be the same price all week and usually bigger.
The Marriott Grand Chateau is located between MGM and Planet Hollywood, opposite City Center, and is great, no casino downstairs and non-smoking. If you're being charged $60 for the kids, you may as well get somewhere with your own kitchen and washing machine..... You could get a studio (just like a hotel room) 1bedroom villa or 2 bedroom. Or if you know anyone with an Interval International membership (people that own Accor Vacations will probably be the easiest to find) Marriott Grand Chateau is often available for rental through them.
'Mid-strip' has actually moved further south than it used to be due to City Center finally being open.
We stayed at the Grand Chateau too in April. Really good. Easy location, had a small, but overpriced, hehe, conveniance store, and even had a shuttle for a proper grocery store 4 or 5 days each week including weekends. I would stay again. Beds were comfy too. Perfect location.

Way overpriced :) Definitely priced to match the casino convenience stores :) But it was convenient :)
If Grand Chateau was available relatively cheaply, I doubt I'd bother with even contemplating elsewhere in Vegas :) unless they start construction on the other tower, that would make it less attractive.
